These deals start tomorrow 9/9 at Harris Teeter.  Rumor has it that we will have either triples or super doubles probably starting next week or the week after sorry it is so vague for now, I hope to have more soon.  This is a good ad though with lots of deals so don’t spend too much time thinking ahead.

1. You do not have to buy 2 of the B1G1 items, each item will ring up half price.
2. Coupons are doubled that are .99¢ or less.
3. They will double 20 coupons per day/transaction.
4. You must have a VIC card to get sale prices and for your coupons to double.
5. Most stores only allow one coupon per B1G1 deal, so only buy one per transaction if possible.
**Tip: Hand over coupons in order of value starting with .99¢ or less then give $1 and higher coupons**

    • rhonda

please explain upromise ecoupons. i just signed up for an account but have never used them before. do all stores take them? can i use them along with manufacturer’s coupon? i printed an ecoupon list. ? there is no bar code. just gives the brand, description, ecoupon value and exp date. will the store take this?

    • Kim

The way I understand upromise coupons is that load and activate them on your grocery/drugstore card. When you purchase the items, upromise will donate the coupon amount towards your college fund. So it depends on which stores participate with upromise, and also it doesn’t actually take money off the price you pay. It just makes a donation to your account. I hope that makes sense.

    • Kim

In reference to “Get $1 off for every 10 cans you purchase, mix & match with card”

I found out that at my Harris Teeter (in Winston-Salem, NC) there were certain cans you had to buy to get the $1 off. (It doesn’t apply to $1/5, $1/3 or $1/2 cans.) Then, when I bought those 10 items, it didn’t take the extra dollar off. The same thing happened with my 7 Quaker items. However, the guy at customer service refunded me $4. I was happy! :)

      OOP $39.81 :D

    • Ashley

Same thing happened to me with the 10 cans thing. I didnt get the dollar off my purchase. But I still saved a total of $27.00 and spent $16.00, so not so bad of a trip.

    • Colleen

Finally got the free Smithfield bacon this week. They are 2/6.00 and they DID accept the coupon this week! So if you’ve still got the 3.00 off coupon, you can get free bacon this week!

    • Kim

I bought the porterhouse steaks today for $3.99/lb. There was a limit of 4, so I bought 4. Does anyone know if I can go back on a different day and buy 4 more, or does my VIC card keep track of how many I buy?

    • Jessica

Does anyone know if Harris Teeter takes Food Lion coupons?
And on B1G1 do they let you use two q’s?
Thanks for the help, trying to keep all of the groceries stores straight!!

    • michelle

My Harris Teeter in Charlotte does accept Food Lion Coupons. They are wonderful and will accept any competitors (I’ve used Rite Aid, Walgreen’s, CVS, Target internet printables and Food Lion. These are especially great when they have super doubles and triples. I used a ton of the Walgreen coupons and stacked them with manufacturer coupons couple of weeks ago during super doubles. I got $5 off huggies wipes with a $2 Walgreens and $1.50 manu. also got Flintstones Gummy Vitamins for .99 using two of these. They do also accept 2 coupons with BOGO items. Of course, I would imagine each store has its own policy so it may depend on your store. I am very fortunate, I have a brand new Super Bi-Lo directly across from my Harris Teeter about a mile from my house and they both accept any coupons! I love them!! (and every trip I make to Walgreen’s makes my love them even more. They are the worst!)

    • Just FYI. My neighborhood HT will not allow more than one coupon per BOGO. I called HT Cust Support and the rep verified that the store is following HT policy. So on the Martha White mix, where I bought 4 bags of mix (@ $1.19 BOGO) I was only permitted to use one $0.55/2 coupon. The reasoning is that I only bought 2 and the other 2 were free. That made the mix go from 4 cents each to $1.28/4 or $0.32 each. They also wouldn’t take a second $1 coupon for the All detergent since it was BOGO. But I did get one at 1/2 price and still used the coupon.

Just letting you guys know in case you run into this problem.

    • Michelle #11, you may want to ask before you try to use competitor coupons at HT. The policy states that they do not take them, so your store may be a stickler like mine is. In fact, for the Walgreens RR, they will only take one at a time, even though they are Manu Coupons.

    • Erica

I had a talk with customer service at HT. They are no longer accepting all competitor coupons and the only ones they will accept are for $ off total order. No brand specific. They won’t take CVS but I think its all muddled so try to use what you have but don’t be suprised if they don’t take it.

    • bridget

Heads up on the Sara Lee bread sale – at my HT in Chapel Hill it was only 40 cents off – I looked carefully at the in store flier, and it said it was BOGO, but the fine print said at certain stores only. The $1 off 10 cans worked for me.

Btw, my HT will take 2 qs on bogo…as long as it is not a manual entry, as in from a rain check (got one of those for the Glass Plus today).

    • Michelle

to crisi #12 You can buy the buy one get and use the coupons just do them in separate transactions they will charge you half price for the item hope this helps

    • I am sure you guys all go this email too …
but as an EVIC customer today thru the 15th if you spend $100 total you will get $20 off automatically!

    • tatergirl

I didn’t get the $1.00 off my canned goods either, and I bought from what was listed in the ad. They didn’t have enough stock on the shelves for me to use my coupons and get the $3/7 Quaker deal either. To top it off, there was no one in customer service to get my $1.00 back or rain checks. I sent an e-mail regarding this as it is not the first timne this has happened. Mine is a W-S store as well.

    • Wendy

I was in Harris Teeter last night. I had some $5 off of $25 that they sent me in the mail. My bill came to $21 with my VIC but before my coupons. I told the girl that I’d like to grab one more thing to push my bill up to $25 so I could use my $5 off coupon and the girl told me that the $25 has to include VIC PLUS all my coupons. I told her “uh no” that it should only include the VIC. I had her go ask the manager and she came back with the same story. I had already been shopping for over 2 hours after having worked all day and just wasn’t up for the fight. Now I am kicking myself for letting it go like that. I deserved my $5 off. Has this happened to anyone else? And if so, how did they handle it?

    • Amanda

      I spent $6.97, but saved $20.83!
      2 boxes of cereal
4 bags of M. White muffin mix
      2 bottles of J. Juice
      Jif peanut butter
      Spray n wash

Hi Jenny, my sister lives in Cumming and told me about this website. I live in Northern Virginia and we have some of the grocery stores that you reference (Harris Teeter & Food Lion and a few others that are not in the South). I really want to be able to use this website – I will shop at HT and FL if it is cheaper. Can you tell me – does the SS (Smart Source) apply to the Virginia area, as well? Also, is there a SUPER SAVER website for my area – Northern Virginia/Washington DC? Thank you very much. I LOVE YOUR WEBSITE and forwarded it to some of my mom friends in this area.
      Peace, Colleen

    • colleen

Hi again. I just figured out that the Super Saver is what is in the Sunday inserts. Thanks for the website. I am new to this level of couponing. Should I take my less than $1 coupons (I have a few from the sSunday inserts (I get them 1 day in advance) to HT on Wed. or should I wait until you tell us about a great deal? Any guidance is appreciated. Peace

    • Laura

Wendy – I was reading your comment before I went to HT yesterday w/ my mom and sis. We spent well over 25 but the guy told us it had to be $25 after all VIC and coupons. I agree, that’s crap!

We were able to use more than one coupon for the BOGO. For instance, the Fruity Cheerios were BOGO. My sis and I both had a coupon for $.75 off 1 box. We used both. The Dole fruit cups were 2/$4 and we used 2 coupons on that deal too. I’m still learning the ins and outs but I’m totally excited over saving money. I haven’t been this excited about something in a long time. Thanks everyone!

    • Jenn

Just had a great trip at HT! Spent $17.49 and saved $39.03! Nothing like walking in the door with a frozen turkey and three bags of groceries and telling your family you spent less than $18!

    • Joanie

We got a new HT here in Va and they sent me coupons last month for
-$20 when you spend $50. I bought $132.00 of groceries and spent $34! I felt like the Ikea woman who left and yelled to her husband, “Start the car!” I thought that was gone, but they sent me ANOTHER month worth of coupons 20/50!!!
I have to drive about 40 minutes to get there, but it is worth the saving! BTW- I got 36 pounds of chicken in that deal!

    • Joanie

My 20/50 coupon is also after all coupons and the VIC, so it is the same story, BUT HT has FANTASTIC customer service. Last week they had buy 2 Ken’s dressing get 3 free. Somehow I only came home with 3 dressings. I went back, showed it to the Coustomer service lady and she said, go get 2 more dressings! They didn’t even scan them!

    • Kimberly

I used the list today, thanks so much! Just wanted to point out one little extra deal for other end-of-the-shopping period shoppers. My store had bogo A1 steak sauce — I bought one at 4.79, reduced to 2.39 and I used the $2 A1 coupon on it for a final price of $.39.

    • Sally

How does the meal deal work?
Does it automatically work out to be $9.99 with your VIC card?
I’ve been shopping HT for a while but I’m not familiar with this.
