Going Nuts? I can help you understand coupon terms and abbreviations

One of the most common questions I get is folks trying to figure out where to get better coupon inserts.  The bigger the city the more coupons you get, but for those of us in smaller areas this means that our inserts sometimes flat out stink.

Rather than giving up, consider ordering inserts online and skipping the local paper all together!

I get mine from SundayCouponInserts.com and have been very pleased.  We’ve done this for over a year now and have no plans to go back to normal Sunday papers.

The cost of a basic subscription (4 copies) is equal to the cost of 4 local papers in my area.

    • stickrn

sounds interesting, is there any inserts in sunday 4/5?

      • Varn9899

no, the place she mentions has a master list of Sundays and what to expect when

      • Tara

Generally, there are no inserts on a Holiday weekend…

    • Vicki

Jenny, I don’t understand your math. At SundayCouponInserts.com, one insert costs $.85. If I want all four from that came in one paper, I would need to spend $3.40 on inserts. This doesn’t include the amount of the postage. I can purchase one paper that has all the inserts for $1.50. Which means the same four inserts cost me $.375. I purchase the papers on the way to church, so I am not making any special effort. If I am not understanding please let me know. Thank you

    • Coux Pahn

Where is the 4/5/’15 coupon insert listing?

      • atd

likely won’t be any b/c of the Easter Holiday. Most holiday papers don’t have coupons (easter, christmas, thanksgiving)

        • Coux Pahn

That is true to a point.
For the past 3 years the P&G booklets were included in the Holiday Sunday papers by themselves, w/no RedPl or Smt Sc .
Forcing people to purchase more papers than normally necessary.

This us the 1st time in said 3 years that the P&G came out the week prior to a Holiday Sunday.

All that being said, it would be nice to have a notification of “No Inserts this Sunday” if indeed there are none.
          That’s my whole point.

I hope P&G maintains this older pattern from now on.

          • jembo

At the bottom of the page you are looking at now it says “2015 Coupon Schedule”. They are announced in December. http://www.southernsavers.com/2014/12/2015-sunday-coupon-insert-schedule/

          • Kat

Jenny provided a coupon schedule at the beginning of the year. Maybe you could look for that first before complaining about ‘not being notified’.

            • atd

that you for being positive & nice!

            • Coux Pahn

Thank you for the kind reply.
It is nice to see that Southern Hospitality is still alive and well.

First, I am not aware of any such precursor listing, but that would never occur to a person with very narrow perception.

Second, that was not a complaint, but a question, again not apparent to the limited.

Third, why should a person have to go on a site search?
Is it not respectful, to simply list the absence of any booklets for a specified date?
Respectful to those who visit & therefore sustain this site?

Fourth, I would never seek out an opportunity to insult or be rude to someone as you apparently do.
I don’t understand that mind set.

But, I am proud to state that I am not “Katty”.

I hope you had a happy Easter celebrating the Resurrection of Christ, which saved humanity.

    • Kristan

I remember looking into this a couple years ago and changed my mind. Just looked at the prices again just now and all I could find for 4 whole inserts was over $16 plus shipping. Thats double what I pay for 4 papers. I must be missing something. What am I doing wrong? I definitely need a new paper because I miss a lot of coupons but I can’t pay that.

      • Crystal

I agree. I think it might be cheaper to order just the coupons you want already clipped from a clipping service. For me, I live in NC and can get the Ralight News & Observer delivered in my area. They run a deal where the first paper is full price which I think is about $2.25 but each additional paper is just $1, up to 10 papers total. Sunday papers here cost $2 each from a paper box or a convenient store. So it’s a great deal. My deal is even better because I added my 4 papers onto my parents subscription. They originally got 2 papers so now they get 6. And to make it evensweeter, they just gave me a years subscription for my 4 papers. Jenny’s option would just be too expensive. If I couldn’t get my paper delivered, I think I would either do just printables (trying to check those everyday) and on occasion ordering from a clipping service. I just did an order. I got over $30 worth of coupons that I will definitely use for just under $5.

        • Kat Moody

What clipping service do you use Crystal?

        • Kristan

Yes, what clipping service do you use? I definitely cannot do the whole insert thing. I pay $2 for each paper and buy 4 each week on the way to church every Sunday no matter how many inserts are in them. So even though I miss some coupons this is still the best option for me I guess.

      • Kristi Parton

For some reason I thought the $16 included shipping but apparently not. This isn’t as good a deal as it appears to be up front.

    • copperbear

http://www.couponfleamarket.com is a great site. U order whatever coupon u want, no postage or handling fee (like th eone I use to deal with here in Fl,plus..no one is begging for donations on the site!)and most bundles are like 10 or 20. Gives u a list of local sellers so u can pic the ones closer to u to get them sooner…..

    • Pauline

Hey, I have been using the coupon ordering system, since I live in a small town (Aiken, SC). Jenny — you mentioned that you receive the inserts on Monday but I receive mine on Wednesday (Aiken is about 50 miles from Coumbia, SC). Do you pay extra to receive the coupons on Monday?

    • Jamie

this is a very expensive option to me. Wow their prices! I get The State newspaper delivered for 2.75 a week. If I need another paper, I buy it for 3.00. However, I have not done that in a long time. I do use a clipping service on occasion because we don’t seem to get the Nivea or Loreal coupons like other people do. Those cost 0.12-0.30 each at coupon DeDe’s with 0.98 shipping in an envelope as long as u purchase 3.00 worth of more.

      • Marian

Can you give the website to DeDe

    • spi_cy13

On the website sundaycouponinserts.com, how do a person know which newspaper insert will be delivered to me? Do I get to choose which newspaper inserts I want for a certain city/cities?

    • Cindy

I think this would be a good option for those who may not be able to get great coupons. For those of us who are fortunate to get them, this might not be a viable option. Certainly worth checking into though!

    • joecampssis

I hope it’s okay if I post this but you can buy inserts off FB for really good prices. I actually sell them for 25c and right now I have a deal 50 for $5.

With me, each insert is only $0.50 or 2 for $1 instead of $5 or $10…the point here is to save money and thats what i’m here to help you do! Visit our Group page on Facebook-Penny Clips!!!!
