Moving can be stressful at the best of times, and packing up your house is one of the most stressful parts. Unfortunately there’s not a magical way to snap your fingers and have your house packed unless you hire professional movers, so if you want to DIY your move, the best way to make it easier is to make sure you have the right tools and materials. You can still drive around and look for free boxes at stores, but if you want to make it as easy as possible, you can actually order everything you need from Amazon and have it delivered right to your doorstep, ready for you to start packing. I’ve rounded up what I think are the best moving supplies on Amazon to save you some time!

Moving Boxes packs of 25-30 boxes starting at $36.99
Most obviously, you need boxes when you’re moving. You can always drive around to different places and see if they have boxes, but that takes time, and sometimes, time is money. You are going to want boxes of varying sizes, because you need bigger boxes for things like lamps, but you need smaller boxes for things like books (because big boxes of books are heavy!).

To make unpacking easier, make sure you label your boxes. See below for stickers to put on your boxes for which room the boxes go in, but in addition to the stickers, it can be helpful to write a few “themes” on the box so you know what’s in there. In the kitchen, note which boxes have dishes and which boxes have pans. Note which boxes have books (that can probably stay in there for a while) and which boxes have the coasters you might want to put out immediately!

I just found out about these stickers and I think they’re brilliant. Yes, you can use a sharpie to write on the boxes, but these tell you at a glance which room the boxes go in, and the color coding means it’s very easy to put boxes together when you get to your new house.
