Here is a fun gift that the guys could enjoy too! Check out these comic books coasters. They are super simple to make, and it’s nice because you can customize them.

You could really have any designs or characters on your coasters but here are some for Super Hero/Comic Book fans. If you’re not familiar with Mod Podge, it’s a glue and sealer that works great for coating these coasters.

I chose to use outlet covers that I found for around $2 at the Home Improvement store but you could use cork, wood chip blanks, etc.

Materials You Will Need:

Outdoor Mod Podge
Comic Books – Printouts work!
Electric Outlet covers (or premade coasters)
Spraypaint
Glue or Adhesive
Paintbrush
Sandpaper

Step 1: Use your sandpaper to sand surface so that spray paint will stick when applied to your outlet cover. If you are using something like chip-board blanks, you can skip this step. You will then need to set it aside for the paint to dry. I find that spraying the cover on a glass and letting it dry on the glass turned upside down works well.

Step 2: You can cover the entire surface of the coaster or leave some of the edges showing. I chose to leave some edges showing so I cut my paper according to that measurement. I am using comic book print outs, but you can use actual comic books or other pictures if you prefer a different theme!

Step 3: Now it’s time for the Mod Podge! If you aren’t using a printout from an ink printer, you can moisten your images with some water before applying to the coaster to reduce bumps and wrinkles. I’m using a printed image, so I skipped this step. You will want to wait for the Mod Podge to dry, sand the top and reapply another coat of the sealant to ensure that it is sealed!
