There is certainly a time and a place for making your own pie crust, your own custard, your own whipped cream. But sometimes, it’s nice to be able to cut corners and still come out with a delicious dessert.
This easiest ever banana cream pie recipe is so, so simple. Combine some instant pudding with whipped topping and you’re basically finished.
Ingredients
- 1 3.4 oz package instant banana cream pudding
- 1 3/4 cup whole milk
- 1 8 oz container whipped topping (like Cool Whip), divided
- 2 bananas, sliced into 1/2" pieces
- 1 graham cracker crust
Directions
- In a mixing bowl, add the instant pudding and milk and whisk together until thickened, about 2 minutes.
- Fold in 2 cups of the whipped topping (about 2/3 of the container) into the pudding until evenly combined.
- Arrange the slices of one banana in an even layer around the bottom of the pie crust.
- Pour the pudding mixture over the top. Gently spread the remaining whipped topping around the top of the pie. Garnish with remaining banana slices.
- Allow to chill in the refrigerator for at least 3 hours before serving.
