Would you like a short break to getaway in the mountains and be refreshed??? Yeah I thought so.
I’m excited to share that it’s time to register and start planning for Becoming 2016! Mark your calendars for August 5th and 6th and start packing your bags.
This year we’re moving the location to Lake Junaluska, NC. This is a beautiful conference center nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains, just minutes from Asheville, North Carolina. Lake Junaluska Conference and Retreat Center is ideally situated in a mountain valley and provides a welcome change from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
Think of waking up and sitting in your rocking chair looking out at a beautiful lake and mountains everywhere. It might be hard to drag yourself out of the rocking chair, but we have an awesome weekend planned with great DIY, Organizing, Parenting, and encouraging speakers. Plus this year we plan to add even more hands on learning and projects!

As always, we try to keep our prices for this conference as low as possible. We have an early bird price available that expires April 30th, so hurry and get your spot! Total if you split a room the entire conference is only $116 per person for regular rooms. This includes all your food, your room and the conference! (You don’t want to know what a regular conference normally costs… just know this is an amazing price).
To register, you have two steps to follow before you’re completely registered for Becoming 2016:
1. Head to Eventbrite to register for the conference.
2. Reserve your room with Lake Junaluska for arrival date as Friday, August 5th and the departure date as Saturday, August 6th. It will ask you for the group code (7699) to access your room block.
Staying On Campus:
You may check out the different accommodations here.
If you live in the Asheville area you are welcome to join us and stay off campus. Just grab your ticket through eventbrite and you are set. When you arrive you’ll need to pay for your lunch ticket with Junaluska but don’t need to call in advance for it.
Want to Bring A Spouse (not attending the conference):
Just grab an extra meal ticket when you register or arrive for $33 and they will have all the meals you do. They can enjoy the scenery while you enjoy the conference!

We’re still working on the finishing touches of getting top-notch speakers to inspire us this year, but we can’t wait to spend the weekend with you. This is a great chance for you to grab some ladies and get away for a night for a retreat in the mountains. For me the more the merrier in my room, plus the cheaper it gets too! They do have rooms that sleep up to 8 people if you want to go big!!
See you in August!

The other night I found myself in a dilemma. I had just packed the dishwasher full of dirty dishes when I reached for the box of dishwasher tabs only to discover that the box was empty. I wasn’t going to undo that delicate, puzzle-like arrangement of dishes to do them by hand, but I really needed them for breakfast the next morning.
So, I grabbed a couple household ingredients and made my own detergent! The concoction I made has two ingredients: baking soda and dish soap. That’s it! I pretty much always have those two things on hand and you can always get them both for really cheap after coupons.
Homemade Dishwasher Detergent:
-2 tbsp baking soda
-a couple drops of liquid dish soap
1. In the main well of your dishwasher where you normally add the soap, add 2 tbsp of baking soda (you might use more or less depending on how big your well is).
2. Add a couple drops of dish soap, close the lid of the well, and run your dishwasher like you normally would.
I noticed that this method got everything really clean and I didn’t experience any overflowing suds or residue on my dishes. Let me know how it works for you!

Did you know that every area and paper get different coupons?
This is one of the biggest things that can frustrate couponers… we all want the great coupon and only a few select areas got it. Each week volunteers send in their insert lists so to show exactly what came in your area. I take these and put them into the coupon database. In turn you can then have shopping lists that only show the coupons in your area! Take a look at this week’s coupon insert variations from 4/10.
Click on your newspaper to see which coupons you actually received.
If you’re paper is not covered and you’re interested in helping, feel free to email me at jenny@southernsavers.com for directions. I promise it’s easy!
As folks send me the lists I will update this page.
A legend for the list:
Black = You got this coupon!
Red = Not in this insert
Blue = A change in value or a new coupon not in the preview.
