Did you know that every area and paper get different coupons?
This is one of the biggest things that can frustrate couponers… we all want the great coupon and only a few select areas got it. Each week volunteers send in their insert lists so to show exactly what came in your area. I take these and put them into the coupon database. In turn you can then have shopping lists that only show the coupons in your area!! Take a look at this week’s coupon insert variations from 12/7.

Being couponers, we’re usually aware of the deals, but some folks are oblivious and can use a push in the right direction. This is a time of year when a lot of folks are strapped for cash and looking to provide a nice meal for their family.I am so excited about this!! The Challenge:
Between now and December 31st, pay it forward with me.
1. Print a couple of coupons and tape them on a product on sale in the store that week.
2. Take a photo of the product in the store.
3. Post the photo to Instagram with #SSgives (or email it to me at jenny@southernsavers.com with #SSgives in the subject line).

Looking for an easy dessert this Christmas season? Apple pie is usually a favorite for folks, but our family is gluten-free, so I made an apple crisp a la mode using gluten-free flour.

Ingredients
- 5-6 apples peeled, cored, sliced
- 1/4 cup pecans
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/3 cup flour
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 tbsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 6 tbsp cold butter, chopped
- 1/4 cup coarsely chopped pecans
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
Directions
- Mix all of the ingredients for the apples together in a bowl.
- Pour all of the ingredients for the topping in a bowl.
- Mix everything for the topping in a mixer. I mixed mine for 3 minutes until everything was sticking together.
- Put the apples first in you bake ware, then put the topping on.
- The topping doesn't look like it will cover well, but once it cooks, it spreads out some.
- For a thin layer of apples, cook on 375 for 35 minutes, or 1 hour if it's a thick layer.
