It’s confession time. I’ve always wanted brighter teeth. I know it’s a very vain sounding thing but let me explain. We have to go back to when I was 16. Driving home from school one afternoon I got a little sidetracked and hit a tree (no I’m not brave enough to share exactly why I hit the tree). Nothing was harmed in the wreck except that I hit my front tooth on the steering wheel and it promptly died.
Random little fact for you, but if a tooth dies nicely it’s like having a root canal with no pain. The tooth is perfectly fine and still in my head many years later (note I’m sharing dates either…) The only negative effect is that the tooth slowly darkens overtime. This has messed with my head a lot and thus the long standing desire to whiten my teeth.
Occasionally on a super good deal I’ve tried the store strips only to see no difference, but doing anything more powerful is not in the budget.
Custom at-home whitening gel trays can cost around $500. Recently though I was contacted by Smile Brilliant to see if I wanted to try out their program! How could I say no? This is like a trip to disney world for a 5 year old. Of course I’ll try it out!!
First, I was excited that these weren’t just strips they were molded trays made just for me. They sent in the mail everything I needed to make the impressions. The process was simple, and I sent my impressions back off so they could make the trays. A few days later, the trays arrived at my doorstep! Along the way, they were always good about emailing me the updates of when they received my impressions and when everything was sent off.

I gave the trays a 5-day test. I started whitening them this past Friday and I was really happy with the results that I got from only 5 days of whitening. The idea of at-home custom trays may seem intimidating, but trust me, it was so easy. The quality of the after picture isn’t that great, but the discoloration is barely noticeable! I have enough gel to do another 10 days too.
If you’re looking to invest in custom whitening trays, I would highly recommend should check out Smile Brilliant! You can get custom whitening trays and 3 gel syringes for only $120 (much better than the $500 my dentist charges).
If you have sensitive teeth, no need to worry, they have desensitizing gel which is a pre-whitening application that will reduce if not eliminate tooth sensitivity all together. If you’re contemplating it, check out this informational video from Smile Brilliant to answer some of your questions.
Smile Brilliant provided all supplies, but all opinions are 100% my own.
