I have taken on a new challenge for the next 30 days… eat at Applebees 5 times from their lunch menu. They just released a new menu that you can make your own lunch combo by mixing and matching from top menu items. In total, you could have over 200 different lunches without repeating the same combination!!
I don’t tend to ever eat out for lunch, but it work perfectly this month as I’m on the road for workshops a ton. They offered to pay the bill, so what could I really say…
We recently went in for our first lunch and were very pleased with the new menu. There are a ton of choices for soups, salads and sandwiches. Heads up for anyone gluten free though… the choices are bit slim on the gluten free menu. My husband grabbed a salad without the croutons, and I had an American BLT with a side of tortilla soup. Both were very good! I’m already pondering what my next 4 combinations will be.
If you are dieting I’ll warn you not to look at the bottom of the lunch menu… they offer dessert for $1 with any lunch! We were good and didn’t add on the calories, but I can’t promise to be great the next 4 trips in!

We are heading to the library for Frugal Date Friday! Get ready to see what your local library has to offer!
In preparation for your date, check for guest speakers or events going on. You may be able to attend an event where you can hear from an author and even get a book signed.
To start, you can spend time showing each other your favorite children’s books from when you were kids. It’s a great way to share childhood memories and learn more about one another.
Next, libraries often have cool collections of old newspapers and maps too. You can learn more about the history of your town together.
You can check out a few books to take home and read together or even movies to watch. Head to a local park and spend time popcorn reading a book together.
