The holidays are just around the corner and I’m already thinking about all of the food that I need to prepare. I have a long list of dishes that “need” to be on the table for everyone to feel like it’s Thanksgiving. If you miss one of those dishes… then you just ruined the day. No pressure…
My trick to help relieve a bit of that pressure is to go pre-made on some things. To me, it’s tastier and easier for me to buy a pre-made pie rather than slave over one along with the millions of other dishes. My go-to pies every season are Mrs. Smith’s® and Edwards®.
First off, let me just say these aren’t gluten free. My husband has to watch the rest of us eat these. This is where I probably could use more empathy… but I just can’t pass up buttery flaky crusts and the amazing crumbly dutch topping on an Apple Pie. Mrs. Smith’s® has lots of fruit-filled pies to choose from and I just wish I could have them all.
Edwards® pies are another nice, cool treat. This is the favorite of my kids. I know the box says to thaw before serving, but I confess we eat this like decadent ice cream right out of the freezer.
If you’re looking to cut some corners on holiday desserts, run to the store and pick up Mrs. Smith’s® and Edwardss®. Throw away the box and no one will know it’s home made (I promise, I won’t tell).
The best news is that you can save right now with a $1.00 off coupon for any Mrs. Smith’s® or Edwards® whole pie.
The Giveaway:

Did you know that every area and paper gets different coupons? This is one of the biggest things that can frustrate couponers… we all want the great coupon and only a few select areas got it. Each week volunteers send in their insert lists so to show exactly what came in your area. I take these and put them into the coupon database. In turn you can then have shopping lists that only show the coupons in your area!!
Take a look at this week’s coupon insert variations from 11/3. Click on your newspaper to see which coupons you actually received.
If you’re paper is not covered and you’re interested in helping, feel free to email me at jenny@southernsavers.com for directions. I promise it’s easy!
As folks send me the lists I will update this page.
A legend for the list:
Black = You got this coupon!
Red = Not in this insert
Blue = A change in value or a new coupon not in the preview.
