If you grabbed the Gevalia Coffee and Coffee Maker deal last week you may want to check our your bank account.
The deal was to get a coffee pot and 4 bags of coffee or tea for $25.94 after a discount and coupon code. Some folks are finding that they have been charged $30.95 instead of the amount that shows on their receipts. When calling the company they are refusing to fix the over charged amount stating that the system shouldn’t allow a discount code.
While it may be an error in their system, it is illegal to charge a card more than a receipt shows. I know it is $5, but I take it personally when a company doesn’t live up to something and I tell you about the deal…
So what can you do?
1. Call Gevalia if you want, but it doesn’t sound like anyone is getting anywhere with them. 1-800-438-2542
2. Head to your local bank and file a fraud report. Show them your receipt and the amount that should have been charged and they will handle it for you.
3. If you are very peeved you can also file a report with your local BBB about incorrect charging.
If you are okay with the $5 over charge that is okay too I guess, but I just wanted you to be aware.
P.S. Don’t forget to also go in and cancel the auto-shipment!
Now through March 30th, you can get a FREE Redbox Movie Code from Smirnoff! To get your free movie code, text SMIRNOFF to 839863 to get your 1-Day movie rental code.
Find a Redbox Location near you!
Update: When it asks you for a state enter CA or else you will be told to get your code by mail in rebate.

This week was a Kroger week for us. It was also a small grocery heart break week. I came home from a home school conference Saturday night to find my stand alone freezer door open and everything inside thawed. It looked like it hadn’t been closed all the way, but was just enough that it couldn’t keep anything cold. Three garbage bags later I said goodbye to my freezer stockpile of vegetables from the farmers market, meat, pizza and more. I don’t even want to think of the retail value of everything.
At Kroger I grabbed the essentials for the week plus I splurged and got hashbrowns and sausage to make a breakfast casserole. My girls are content with cereal for breakfast but lately my husband and I have been wanting more protein so this held us all week for breakfast. The sausage wasn’t much of splurge really at 99¢ after coupons and we went house brand for the hashbrowns since nothing was on sale.
Kroger:
Total Before Sales & Coupons: $141.03
Total Spent: $76.14
Total Saved: $64.89 or 46%
I also ran out for ice cream at Bi-Lo to do a review, but they sent me coupons for the ice cream to be free so we won’t count that. At least they helped me not have an entirely empty freezer…
