    Atlanta area readers:

Get a great deal on a subscription to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution today on Groupon.

For $39 you can get a 6 month subscription to the Sunday and Thursday paper or for $50 get Thursday thru Sunday papers every week!

In terms of couponing you really only need the Sunday/Thursday option.  This will get you all your insert coupons on Sunday and your Publix penny item coupon on Thursday.  As for savings, the Sunday paper is $2 normally so getting 26 weeks of the paper for $39 is already a savings of $13 plus you are getting a free Thursday paper now.

The Groupon is only good for the next two days. You have until November 17th to activate your subscription.  Limit 1 per household.

To make the most out of couponing, make sure you know all about the grocery store sale cycles.

Over the next few weeks we are going to have our own Extreme Couponing series on Southern Savers. I’ve done many posts and videos over the years, but we are going to start over with short little 3 minutes or less videos and cover the basics, questions, tips and tricks. My hope is that we can break things into very easy to understand segments and help folks actually learn how to save money (not just buy all the floss in a grocery store and “save” a ton on one random trip).

To get us started, the most important thing to learn is that groceries run on a sale cycle…
