Going Nuts? I can help you understand coupon terms and abbreviations

Back to School time brings up images of running around like crazy people with nights filled with activities, homework and meetings.  The last thing you want to deal with is figuring out and cooking dinner.  Enter Michael Angelo’s!

You can find Michael Angelo’s Single Serve and Family Sized Meals at stores nationwide priced around $9.49 (or on sale this week at various stores). Choose from the following six Family Serve: Meat Lasagna, Eggplant Parmesan, Chicken Piccata, Vegetable Lasagna, Shrimp Scampi and Italian-Style Sausage and Meatballs. They all sound so good that I can’t wait to try them all!

To be honest, we usually don’t eat a ton of frozen entrees because we love to cook fresh produce and meat.  However, I really like that Michael Angelo’s products are able to capture real ingredients into their entrees without adding additional ingredients that are near impossible to pronounce.  These are not only great for solving the “what’s for dinner crisis”, they are perfect as a quick gift to a family with a new baby.  We keep some in the freezer and are ready to share with anyone as the need arises.  I know that I’m giving a high quality meal, and they have the flexibility of eating that night or saving it for later date.

I also love that their entrees are shipped to stores within 36 hours of being made. This eliminates being warehoused in a freezer for who knows how long and giving the product a freezer after taste! Unlike many frozen food companies churning out thousands of meals that go into storage before being shipped out to stores, Michael Angelo’s makes their meals in small batches only after receiving store orders. This made-to-order process ensures that the meals that are found in your local store are as fresh as can be. And there are no artificial colors, flavors, fillers or chemical preservatives in any of their products. Just check out the ingredients for their Chicken Parmesan!

Sign up for Michael Angelo’s Online Community, The Family Table to receive a B1G1 Free Coupon. Not only will you receive a coupon but you can enjoy family recipes and share your experiences of their Italian Gourmet Foods with others!

Scout Messenger BagScout by Bungalow is a site that offers a full range of great products.  From backpacks and gym bags to lunch boxes and laptop totes, you are sure to find something cute, practical and affordable on the site.  The company owners have 4 kids and 4 dogs of their own and their on-the-go lifestyle is reflected in their products (meaning they are really durable!).

One of the major pluses to Scout products is that they are made from water resistant and wipeable materials.  This means that they require little effort to clean and won’t tear like normal backpacks (which, unfortunately, seem to weigh more and more lately…).  The prices of these products range from $16-$45, which is a pretty good price for a high-quality, long-lasting bag.

For us, fun new bags and organizers really get my girls excited about a new school year starting.  Even though we continue in our normal routine with home school it still gets to feel special.

          The Giveaway:

Scout has graciously provided Southern Savers a gift pack of 5 Scout items for a giveaway.  First up, and guaranteed to make your little girl’s first day of school special, is a new, lunchbox and a matching Wee Gotcha Children’s Backpack.

For Mom, there is a 12″ x 12″ storage bin, a Croc-O-Gator Laptop case and Instant Messenger Bag.

All five of these Scout products will be given away to one Southern Savers reader!

I’m excited that Becoming 2011 is finally here!!

If you missed the announcement back in July, this is an awesome conference that is hosted by myself and three other bloggers focusing on Becoming more Creative, Purposeful and Frugal.  While tickets are sold out, I did want to make sure that anyone coming this weekend was ready with the agenda. There are a number of great sessions so you’ll want to plan out your schedule or tag team with a friend so you don’t miss anything!

Jen from Balancing Beauty & Bedlam and I have worked hard to make this an awesome weekend filled with fun surprises.  So get your bags packed!

The Edible Arrangements facebook page is offering you a FREE Pineapple Pop when you make a pledge to eat more fruit.

While you shouldn’t need too much motivation for this since fruit is just so ridiculously delicious, you should know that the USDA recommends that one half of a person’s daily food should consist of fruits and vegetables.

If you’ve been thinking about changing the eating habits of your family, maybe this is the time (especially because it comes with a the free Pineapple Pop)!  This offer runs through August 14th.

Okay home organization and back to school might not fit in your mind, but for me they go hand in hand!  We homeschool our girls and anything I can use to make things more organized and clean the better our house runs.

When Snapware came in the mail, I immediately began thinking of everything I can use these for: snacks on long road trips, taking desserts to a friends house, or just packing up leftovers!  We could also use them to hold all of our Math blocks, shapes, weights etc.

Snapware specializes in storage and organization solutions for the home and kitchen. The package we received was a mixture of products for both areas. I love the Snapware Snap ‘N Stack Food Storage Sandwich Box.  My girls love PB&J’s, so this is perfect for an on-the-go lunch.  The Sandwich Box is large enough to fit an entire meal with the sandwich in the top half and sides in the bottom.  These containers are also leak proof and spill proof, so I don’t have to worry as much about unwanted messes.

These containers are really easy because they can just snap down the 4 sides and you can rest assured that the container is tightly closed!

                  The Giveaway:
