    • Lynn

I have been couponing for over a year, but still have not entirely figured out how the 1 coupon per item thing works. Say I want to do the John Frieda deal and buy 3 items and use 2 manufacturers coupons, but one of those coupons is for $5/2. I have 3 items and 2 coupons, so can I use a RR? Seems like sometimes it has worked and other times it has not. Also, do Walgreens coupons count toward the 1 coupon per item limit? If I bought 3 items with 3 manufactures coupons and then a filler using an in-ad coupon, could I also use a RR? Thanks! When I am not sure, I'll add some fillers, but I'd rather not be buying things I didn't have to buy just to use my RR….

      • VanessaCook

you have to have the same number of manufacturer coupons and RR to equal the number of items. you can have 2 manu. qs and 1 RR or whatever combination, but no more than items. store coupons of any kind do not count towards your total.

        • tracycook79

hmmmm…my walgeens counts store coupons for the 1 per item….wonder who i could talk to to verify……..any ideas?

          • VanessaCook

this may be some sorta ymmv kinda junk…is the cashier telling you that you have too many coupons or the cash register?

          • CJ

I have had the same experience. The store coupons count toward my total number of items. But you only have to have one store coupon, and it will come off on each of the items it is for – up to the limit listed on the coupon. So if you have a store coupon for tissues, limit of three, then you only need one store coupon to cover all three tissues.

            • Andrea

i went to wags today and the store coupon counted as a coupon too and that's what the cashier told me. is this right? are some stores different than others.

      • MelRae

Walgreens store coupons do not count toward the “1 coupon per item” limit…only manufacturer coupons.

I am not a Wags pro by any means, but I do have a few tips that I have found to be helpful: Do simple transactions. The more items and coupons and RRs involved, the more likely something won't work right. Also, checkout in cosmetics whenever possible. I dunno…it seems more laid back there, at least at my store. And know your cashiers…experience will tell you who is helpful, and who is not.

        • Lynn

I think you are right – the girls working in Cosmetics are always so nice and I have never had problems with things going through like at the front registers. I think I will stick to simple also – last week I was busy and did not roll any transactions and now have a stack of RR to spend by 2/14. Think I will do several different days of transactions so as not to wonder what is and is not working. And I will take a roll of tinfoil to the counter with me as a backup if I need an additional item but tell them not to ring it up until after we try all my coupons:)..

          • Paul

Lynn, (or anyone else) have you tried using the RR at another store (like Publix) that takes competitor q's? Plus I was thinking that the competitor match wouldn't even matter since the RR are manf. q's. It say's “Redeemable at Walgreens”, but the Kroger q's that print out at the register say “Redeemable at Kroger” and can be used anywhere b/c they are manf. q's. Any thoughts?

            • sundrop474

I use mine at Harris Teeter. They are always super nice and have never had a single problem there.

I agree, they tend to roll their eyes any time I walk in.

            • Sarah

Luckily, my Wags 'friends' are always amused by me! They love to see how much I save. I'm glad to have a nice Wags!

            • carolyn090

is should be simple .if your not a people person dont work in customer service . i love my sister in law but shes is that way to and she knows it .guess what she does for a living shes a prison gaurd .no im serious ,she is . i think her bonusus must be based on her general bad attitude .

          • Donna

I am a Walgreens employee and I also do the whole couponing thing. I work checkouts and cosmetics and I am always interested in peoples coupons cause thats how I learn what else is on sale too.
HOWEVER, I shop at other stores when we are out of things and I too, even knowing I am a employee at another store (cause they see my emp. id card) alot of other stores give me attitude also, even in the cosmetics dept. I have gone to 2 other stores in my area and they are nasty and rude when it comes to my using coupons. Its not right. I know Im not that way, I guess cause I do the whole coupon thing myself and I know, but either way its very rude for those that don't do it to be as rude as they are. The store still gets paid on the manufactuers coupon, its not like the store is getting ripped off.
But yeah, it pisses me off as well and I just give them attitude back!
I have gone to the extent to complain to their assistant cause I am friends with one of the assistants cause he use to work at my store and after being treated rudely at his current store, I told him via facebook (cause we chat on there) and he said he would mention something to her.
There's definately no need for them to be rude!

          • Paul

Carmen…you hit the nail on the head! I prefer CVS over any other retail pharmacy!!

this makes me so sad!! the wags i shop in is always nice, and they often tell me about q's i have missed!! guess im just lucky!!

        • tracy99

I am new to the couponing world and also just started the CVS/Walgreens shopping. My CVS store is awesome. Walgreens on the other hand…not very nice. The cashier had to call a manager over to help with a transaction and said “Oh, she has COUPONS.” The tone of her voice sounded like “Oh, she has the PLAGUE.” Very unpleasant experience.

        • renae1853

You are correct. I work at Walgeen's, some cashiers are just lost when it comes to coupons.I train my customers how to use them. I use to work in cosmetics. Get additional store coupons off the walgreen's site.

        • Mrs

I thought that the Walgreens store coupons Did count. For example: I bought the Lindsay Olives which are on sale for 99 cents with the Walgreens Coupon. I also had a Manufacturer's Coupon for $1/2. So, I bought 2 cans. Thus, I had 2 items (cans of olives), 1 manufacturer's coupon, and 1 Walgreens coupon. I tried to use a Register Reward, but it beeped. The cashier told me that I needed another item because I had 3 coupons and 2 items. I think that the cashiers have more control than I want to admit.

      • avenlee

You can use a manufacture coupon and a wags store coupon on one item. The $5/2 and the $2/1 will attach to all three so to use an RR you will need a filler. My rule of thumb is for every RR I use to pay I always put in a filler (any item that I do not use a manufacture coupon for) Like today I used 5 RR's to pay. I got 2 papers, 1 pack of cigs and 2 of those valentine pencils with the erasers (5/$1.00 w/wags store coupon) and I received all expected RR's.

    • Casey

I have a question about Walgreens. Last week when I went in the get a few items I paid with walgreen bucks from last week. I didn't get any new register rewards and I asked why? The manager came and told me that if you pay with register rewards then you will not get any new register rewards no matter what!! He said this is a new thing?? Did anyone else have that problem?

      • Alane

I have had the same thing happen to me about a month ago. However, sometimes I still get my RR if I am buying several items that I should receive a RR for. So, I think at my store if I buy 2 things that I should receive a RR for and I am using a RR to pay for the two items then I will only receive one RR reward. I hope that helps.

      • MelRae

Not true, and if it does turn out to be true, then they will lose all of Jenny's readers as customers! lol! Casey, are you sure that the RR you used was not from the manufacturer of the product you bought? What company was the RR from, and what did you purchase with it?

The “no matter what” is just wrong. Wags employees are badly untrained on coupons and RRs…it's an epidemic.

      • VanessaCook

I just went to Walgreens this morning and did not have this problem, however, last week someone else said this was going on in a test area. Hope it doesn't make its way this way!

      • Linda

I've had the same problem and they weren't very nice about it. Must be a lot of folks complaining.

      • tracycook79

i just went tonight….i bought a 7.99 (w/7.99 RR when you buys it), and i used a 5 RR and a 2 off coupon for my transaction. it did still give me my 7.99 RR. one of the few times i have not had trouble. i was told previously that if you are supposed to get a RR, say the 7.99 one, then you can't pay for it with a reward of the same amount. always remember, do not use a reward of the same amount as the reward you should be getting (the cashier told me that if you do you won't get it b/c the computer reads it like you may have already done that deal……..).

      • danap

I did have that problem, but it was explained incorrectly by the store employee. So i went to another Walgreens and they actually helped me to get the RR and use my coupons! Like Melrae said, if you try to flip (use your RR from an Advil deal to get more Advil) you will not get a second RR printout. So use those Advil bucks to get something else that pays RR and then buy more Advil or something like that

      • Donna

I work at Walgreens and I know ALOT about this whole RR thing cause I too am a couponer and then my working there helps also.
That is a bunch of BS about using a RR and not getting one in return. The manager just sounds lazy and doesn't want to correct the transaction.
        This is how it works:
If you use a RR to pay for a item that is from the same company such as Johnson and Johnson and you are buying a item made by Johnson and Johnson that you are supose to get a RR back on. It will not allow you to receive a RR if you are using a RR from that company to pay for the item.
If you are paying for a item using a RR that you have from Johnson and Johnson and you are buying something Kraft Foods but are suppose to get a RR from the Kraft item you are buying, then you should still get the Kraft RR in return.

The whole thing about if you pay with a RR then you don't get any RR back is a crock cause I do it all the time and I am also a Walgreens employee. That manager is just lazy!!

Also in the event that there is a register glitch to where it didn't spit out a RR but was suposed to, my manager has gone as far as rescanning the items for it to make a RR then gives that RR to the customer and then voids the receipt on the items he's scanned. The RR is still good, the customer leaves happy and all he has to do is do a void. Not all managers are smart enough to do this cause I've been to stores and my RR didn't come out and that manager took about 45 min of my time to get it all corrected his way.
Okay well I hope all this helps with some of the questions on here.

    • sam

why do you need filler items to get RR?

      • VanessaCook

        RRs count as manufacturer coupons.

      • CJ

You don't need fillers to get RR unless you have more coupons than you have items you are buying. If you use a manufacturer's coupon and a store coupon on the same item, then you will need one filler item in order for the transaction to go through and get the RR for that item. If you use a manufacturer's coupon, a store coupon, and a RR on the same item, then you will need two fillers.

    • anon

      transaction # 2's math is off :0)

    • anon

never mind..I'm off not transaction 2 lol

    • AndiLou

Don't forget about their item of the month! When you buy 3 – 3 muskateers truffle candy bars (2/$3) you get a $1 RR!! I think this deal works with the new milky way candy bar as well.

      • Donna

No, it doesn't work on the new milky way bars only the new 3 muskateers truffles. I work at Walgreens, thats the items of the month.
the 3 muskateers truffles are (3/$2) but you get a $1 RR back
the new milky way caramel bar is (3/$2) but no RR

    • Bridget

I do not see the $1 Huggies and $2 Huggies overnite coupons when I click the link to coupons.com – is there a particular zip code that has them (I have already printed my limit of the $2 Huggies bricks coupon). Thanks!

    • Anne

I have a questions about Walgreens and manufacturer coupons from other stores, like the printable target coupons that say manufacturer. Today I went in with a tostitoes tearpad that said manufacturer coupons but good at lowes/foodlion on bottom. It did scan through the system but when she went to write down the price she said they couldn't take. I was told this before about the Target manu. I've also heard as long as it says manuf. and it goes through then they can take it. If they don't get credit for them I am fine with that but I would just like a clear answer on it.

      • I have been told at Walgreens (and other stores) that as long as it scans it is a true manufacture coupon and they will accept it. If the cashier tells you this again you can politely remind her/him that since the register took it, they will get credit/the money back for this item.

      • tracycook79

i havebeen told that if it has a specific store printed on it, it is b/c they have a “contracted deal” for that store. other stores, even if they take it will not get reimbursed for it. it has something to do with how much that company charges the contracted store for the product. i think they said they get it at a slightly lower cost…something like that.

    • Pennydealchick

If anyone still has the Childrens walgreen book from last year the coupons do not expire until the end of March and there is a Walgreen coupon for Huggies for a $1 off. I found these books just a few weeks ago (after I had used all that I had) and the store just stocked with two displays so I purchased several. Last week when they had the diaper deal I purchased several. I am glad I have more books to do the deal again.
Thanks for all that you do Jenny!!

      • Christi

Where did you find the book? I never see them in my store?

        • Pennydealchick

I found mine at the Wags on the corner of Broad River Rd and Kennerly in Irm.SC. In the store I have always found them in the center alsie where the seasonal is placed. On the end of one of the four square bens hooked to the side. I hope this helps. If not email me and maybe we can trade some coupons. Thanks

        • Brenda

The pharmacy counter had them at my store in TN

      • courtney_80

there is also a $1 wags q for children's tylenol and a $1 wags q for children's benadryl in the CAB.

      • Joy

        Just FYI,

You don't have to give the cashier those coupons from the Children's activity book so you can use the same one over and over again. No need to buy multiple books. I dont' cut those out – just point to the coupon on the page and have the cashier scan it or type the code in.

        • LD

I had been doing that for months . 2 weeks ago 2 stores have no told me they need that coupon lol. They dont need the ones from weekly add but they need any other walgreens one I use. I called customer service to find out policy on this . Told it is up to the store . Spoke to district manager told the same thing . So it depends on your stores if you have to had them over uggg!

        • tracycook79

          • Mamaberry

Find a new store!!! They don't need them – they throw them away! I worked for Wags for years. In fact, if you know the 4 digit number on whatever store coupon you want to use, they can just type it in and never even scan it. Better yet, tell them you have a friend that works for Wags that told you she just throws them away. Call their bluff and see if it works?!?!

    • Kris

The Feb issue of Better Homes and Gardens had a $1 off 2 coupon for the Lindsay olives.

    • Caroline

I get Page Not Found error when I try to link to Walgreens full weekly ad link for 2/7-2/13.

    • Jels2005

Do I have to sign up to get the Register Rewards..or do if I purchase a qualifying item to I automatically recieve them?

      • You get RR's when you purchase a qualifying deal listed in the ad.

    • rhoadesaa

Okay, so I had worked up a scenario in my head, but after reading your comments, discovered it may not work. Soooo, here was my plan: buy a pkg of Huggies, use $2 man Q, $1 previous RR, pay $5.99 + tax, get back $3 RR. Do all over again w/ the $3 RR + $2 man Q (repeat once or twice more depending on whether I get to m-i-l's to print another q. Are your comments saying that this will not work?

      • Kristy

Unfortunately it will not work. If you buy use a huggies RR to buy more huggies.. it will not print out another RR..Sorry!

      • Joy

OK, two things won't work about your scenario.
#1 – Since you are only buy ONE package of diapers in the first transaction, you can't use TWO coupons (a RR is a manufacturer's coupon). So, to fix this problem you need to add a “filler” item. Anything will work. Jenny has some very inexpensive items listed. A “filler” item is something cheap that you're not using a coupon for – this enables the RR to “attach” to it. Make sense?
OK, now #2 problem: If you use the RR from the Huggies to buy more huggies, a new RR won't print out. Now, if you only want two packs of diapers and you don't care if you get the second RR, then by all means, go ahead. But, a better solution is to “roll” your first $3RR from the Huggies deal into something else that will give you another RR back. Then use that one again on the Huggies.

        Here is what I'm doing:
        Buy Huggies
Use $3 RR from Huggies to do the Kotex deal
        Buy Huggies again

Hope this helps you. I know Walgreens can be challenging at first. Don't give up!

        • rhoadesaa

          Thanks, that helps a bunch!

        • MelRae

Ummm, Joy, that may not work. Kotex is a Kimberly Clark product. I don't know for sure, though…maybe Jenny could tell you. Just wanted to make you aware…I would hate for you to be disappointed!

          • Joy

Oooo, I forgot that Kotex is Kimberly Clark, you're right, that one might not work. Oh well, back to the drawing board to pick another one to roll! LOL! So glad you said something!!!

      • Jo

No, it won't work. That's how they limit how many you purchase of the same item.

    • Teaundra

Can you buy more than one body wash and get more than one RR?

      • kim

If you buy them in seperate transactions it should work. Just don't pay for the second one with the RR from the first one. If you do you will not get the second RR.

        • tracycook79

i was told they are limiting people to one RR per type of item per day…..for example, you can't do 2 transactions each using the dove……….you will only get one RR. was i told wrong?

          • jhoran

Not at my store, thank goodness! Problem solved – just go to different stores.

    • Joy

Anyone have a zip code working for the Poli-grip? I'm not seeing it on mine.

    • pacefamily6

Anybody know why smartsource Root Awakening printable isn't there? Does that mean that the print limit has been reached?

      • It disappeared for me too as I printed it recently. I then went to my husbands computer and used a different zip code they appeared again and was able to print.

        • courtney_80

can you give us the zipcode you used? i can't find it, either. thanks!

          • Virginia

That coupon was available in January. Coupons on the printable sites tend to update/change each month, so it's just gone now. Sorry.

    • Ashley

wow lots of newbies on SS lately

    • Cathy

I have found that it can be too frustrating just trying to use ANY coupons at my local walgreens. There is one particular HAG manager that works there and she is a coupon hater. For instance if I go in and buy kotex and use a manufacturers coupon, she sighs and acts like it is coming out of her pocket. She is extremely rude. As for walgreens policies – they are unprofessional and juvenile. They say it is up the the cashier or up to the store??? What if we went through McDs and were told it is up to the kid at the drive thru window to decide how we can pay for our items. I am completely unimpressed with walgreens and their made up rules. It is a shame really.
I believe they do that just to make you feel too uncomfortable to use coupons.
I am sure that there are nice employees, just not at my store.
Yeah I am bitter about it.

      • Paul

        Cathy…ME TOO!!! AMEN!!!

    • ALSK

I am BRAND NEW to this coupon thing but way excited about it after my adventures with the Mega Event at Kroger this week! I haven't tried anything at Walgreen's yet and I have a question about “filler items” in the transaction examples. Why do you need to buy those in transaction #2/3? Is it to get my total to a certain amount or something? Thanks!

      • Pennydealchicki

The rules are one coupon per item. If you use Walgreen RR to help make the purchase that is counted like a coupon…therefore you need a small filler item so that you can use all your coupons in that transaction. I hope this helps..Do note when you get use or get back RR make sure that the one you are using is not the same company that you are getting ready to get. This is why Jenny takes a lot of time to break down the Buys in a cretain order to make sure that you get and use your RR during you visit to Wags…The RR expire within two weeks which is not as long as CVS so you need to try and use them soon. Hope this helps

        • ALSK

          Yes, that does help. Thanks!

    • Lisa

Walgreens is SO confusing. Planning my transactions but I'm wondering – can you pay for your purchase with 2 sets of RR's? Can I buy the cokes 4 for $13 and pay for them with multiple RR's (1 for $10 and 1 for $2) – and will it also print out my 2 RR for that purchase?

      • Tawanda!

You will have 4 packages of cokes, and each package can have a coupon, so you can use 4 RR of any amount up to $13. As long as the RR are not from the same company, i.e. Coke, you should recive your $2 RR. HTH

      • tracycook79

not if you use a $2 for it……….they told me you can't help pay for an item with a RR of the same amount you are expecting to get (and it happened to me that is how i found out). it will not print….

    • tracycook79

The walgreen's feb. coupon book has a 2 off kotex (with products listed). can this be combined with the RR deal? Jenny, do you know if it can apply??? let me know. i hoping to go monday-ish, and i don't want to look foolish. thanks for your help.

      • courtney_80

the wags q in the february book is for the larger size kotex. don't think it will work with this deal.

    • Heather

I can't seem to find the John Frieda Q..

    • misty

The past two times I have gone to Walgreens they have told me they can only do one transaction per customer. They said it was because they don't want (coupon people) to buy several things and turn around and use the RR. I said what is the difference in me using them now ,tomorrow or next week. I'm about sick of Walgreens!

      • Paul

It makes me feel better when I see so many others that feel the way I do about Walgreens and there CRAZY coupon non-policy and RUDE employees!

    • I tried 29745, 74333, 92012 and none worked. The link under Transaction #1 worked though; the link under the listing didn't.

    • Brandy W

Can someone please give me the code for the Huggies diapers from the Walgreens children's activity book? I've been asking for this book at my Walgreens for months and have been told that they were a promotional item that was just sent to them and they can't order them. They told me last week to call 1-800-Walgreens, which I haven't had time to do yet. I've had one cashier tell me that she would type in the code if I tell her what it is, even if I don't have the book. If any of you can help me out, I would really appreciate it. Thanks!

      • courtney_80

that's very nice of her! i don't think my wags would do that but they do let me keep the q. the code is 2035. good luck!

        • Ashleigh

Are the coupons in the Walgreens Children's Activity Book store coupons or manuf. coupons?

          • carolyn090

            they are store coupons

        • Brandy W

I'm just now getting a chance to check this post. Thank you for the code! I'll give it a try!!

      • Krista

At my SUPER friendly Wags I've just given the code before. They say they have no problem doing that because it will only go through on the register if i'm purchasing the right item. Since the Wags store coupons are accounted for and reimbursed electronically they don't *need* the paper coupon…some stores just require their cashiers to do it for bookkeeping. For some reason I thought the codes were 5 digits long…ill have to see if I can dig up my coloring book.

    • Brenda

I got very frustrated with a Walgreen's mgr tonight. They were out of an item with RR and I asked for a raincheck. He said they were not allowed to give rainchecks on RR items and was quite rude that I had waited til the evening of the last day of the sale and expected them to still have the item. Are RR items “while supplies last”? I worked in a large chain grocery store for 10 years and we were always instructed to write rainchecks to keep our customers happy because it was our responsibility to stock the shelves with the advertised product, so this is a surprise to me to be treated so rudely.

      • Pennydealchick

You are right about Wags not liking anyone with coupons. I drive past two Wags one of which is less than a mile from my house to go to one that is pleasant and does not mind me using my coupons. This week by the time I went to do my deals they were out of the Blink Tears. I think only because the girls knew my by my first name that the Manager wrote me a Raincheck for the item. When I got home to place it in my coupon book I noticed that she stated a total of 3 and the amount listed was FREE. So, I do not mind going to Wags at the corner of St.Andrews and Broad River Road to do my shopping. The last time I went to the one on Kennerly was to get Sunday papers. I found the Childrens book and went to by 5 was going to get 5 papers and was told that I could have 1 because they needed them for real customers that wanted to read the paper not get the coupons only. I told them that would be the last time I shop at that store and since I was a couponer and not a customer that reads the paper(never mind that I take my papers to either the Hospital or Nursing Home) I hope they really do not think that all their customers that buy the Sunday paper are there to read them. So, I know how you feel. I would try to find a Wags that will work with you. Get to know some of the people that work there. When you have a deal and need a filler item. Pick something that you can give to the employee that is helping you.I did the Coke deal twice at CVS and gave the two employees that were working my Coke being we do not drink it. At Wags I gave Debbie and Winter the Toblerone candy that I used as my filler this week. It was a litte more but has helped when I needed the Manager for something. When the employees like you the Manager will like you.

        • Linda

Gosh, I am glad I have never been pegged as not a “real” customer…not funny, that cashier was plain rude. I guess those darn moody cashiers are now the newpaper police too!!! I would have been VERY angry with that kind of attitude from someone whose job is to only ring out my purchases, they aren't there to question how I am going to use anything I buy.

        • Paul

Penny, that’s a great idea to get around the RUDENESS. It makes me sick to hear they said that about the papers. Why do they care where it goes? I have a friend with a blog (Atlanta metro) that is doing something similar, but giving the “freebies” to homeless shelters and other needy groups. Check it out here: http://clippingforacause.blogspot.com/

          Thanks for the advice!

        • carolyn090

wow! some people ! i think that is just her taking a jab at you. personaly i think that for the most part everything is done on line now even my grandmother reads her paper there. i know that everyone cant do that but, i do believe that couponers buy most of the papers and mags. that are being printed now. i have a few friends that are in printing , sooooo many people would be out of a job if we didnt still buy them the old fashon way,as long as they are being donated or at least recycled.people really need to step back and think of how even the little things that they say or do effect us all. i for one know quite a few doctors offices that are in desperate need of reading materal.

      • Brenda

Is the store obligated to offer a raincheck on a RR item?

        • Krista

Brenda, No most Walgreens stores do not offer a raincheck for RR items. Sale items, yes, but most of the Walgreens I shop at claim to have “no control” over RR items. it's really frustrating as a customer, I've even stalked the delivery truck and STILL missed out on free after RR items. But in a way I get it because especially with the FREE after RR items, how are they able to control whether one person buys out the whole store?? They simply cannot predict that very well and probably cannot afford to lose money like that either (since they wouldn't be reimbursed for rainchecks). I LOVE shopping Rite Aid and CVS because they DO offer rainchecks. However, they also have a way to control the quantity that each customer is purchasing and therefore can set limits.

          • gailcope

I get rain checks for all my items that offer RR's back. They just give me the sale price of the item because I would not be getting any RR's back at a later date. So guess it just depends on the store you go to wheather you get the rain check or not.
Sometimes they let me pick out another item that is comparable to the item on sale so I don't even have to mess with rain checks. Which is nice!

            • gailcope

That is they give me the item at the price it would be after the rr was taken off.

            • Angel_in_Charleston

It absolutely depends on the store. I went to three different Wags one week and got three different answers about rainchecks on items offering RR. One wouldn't do a raincheck at all … one would do a raincheck, but for the full price (losing the value of the RR) … and finally the last store gave me a raincheck reflecting the RR savings. It was very frustrating! As many people have already said, you just have to find a store (or even an employee) willing to work with you. There is no consistency at Walgreens.

      • Paul

Walgreens doesn't give a FLIP about keeping their customers (couponers or not)happy. Just try and get your digital prints from the photo lab…proof enough!

      • kaitlynrinehart0722

i work for walgreens and we can not give rainchecks for RR because its the distributor who plans out the RR. we can right rainchecks on a sale item, but there is possible way at all to make the machine print out the RR so yes, they basically are “while supplies last” hope this helps.

    • Ann

If you can use 2-$2 coupons for Kotex, does that mean you can use 3 coupons for the John Frieda deal? I'm confused by Jenny saying you can use 2 – $2 off 2 kotex purchase. Assuming you can stack these, I guess it works for the olives too.

      • tgold6

Today I bought the 3 John Frieda shampoo's and conditioner. I chose the normal brand, not the root. I used three coupons for $2 off. The young lady did call her manager about my printed coupons though. I asked her if there was a problem…she said no.
I do agree with the one's who aren't very pleased with Walgreen's. I think most of the employee's are not friendly conderning coupons(Forum Drive in Columbia)

I have two more deals with the coupons that can be used. For Walgreen's the Reach single toothbrushes are on sale for $1.99- you can use the B1G1 Reach single toothbrush offer. This coupon was in the Red Plum which had the clean your cabinet page. The inserts consisted of a lot of coupons (Listerine, Stayfree, Neopsporin, Sudafed, Reach, e.g.) that had long expiration dates like mid this year up to 1/2011. I apologize I don't know which paper it was in-the front of the Red Plum had a %70 off any optical glasses at JCPenney with a yellow background (hope this helps some).

Second thing is the Gillete Deodorant where you get $1.50 RR; there's a P&G coupon (2/7) that you can get a B1G1 free and the free items is Gillette Body Wash with the purchase of deodorant..

      • annimore

That Red Plum insert was from 1/3. I discovered the date is on the outside folded edge in tiny print :)

      • swoodroof

        These coupons expired on 01/31/2010

    • CJ

There is a $3/1 and Rimmel Mascara in the March ALL YOU mag.

    • mkcuz

I still can not get the coupon for the Super Poligrip on the link nor can I find it on RP. Can anyone help? Am I doing something wrong? Thanks!

    • Ginger

Somebody check me if I'm wrong, but I'm thinking Jenny's deal idea on Sudafed/Tylenol won't work as-is, right? Because it's supposed to be 5$ RR off 15$, but the Sudafed/Tylenols are 4.99, so 3 of them would only be 14.97, thus no RR. So you would have to use 1 Sudafed or Tylenol that was a little more. I think.

      • Jenni

I did this today and you're right! My store wouldn't print the RR unless I spent exactly $15 after coupons! I had to by 5 at $4.99 each using $7 worth of coupons to get my RR!

    • kathrynmcgregor

What zipcode do you use for the Aveeno coupn?

      • Brooke

I would like to know the Aveeno Coupon Zip Code too.

    • kathrynmcgregor

What zipcode do you use for the Aveeno coupon?

Question about RRs – if you buy the Swiffer Sweeper at 9.99, will you get the RR? Or does it have to be above $10?

      • Virginia

Usually for Walgreens deals that require a particular $$-amount, you actually have to reach that $$-amount. Very frustrating with the way they price things (like the $9.99 item when you need $10 for the RR to print).

    • carrie b

The children's activity book has a 1.00 wags coupon that's good through March!

    • Shannon

The link for the $2 off the hearing aid batteries doesn't work…takes you to a listing of available coupons on the Southern Savers site. But there isn't a coupon for the hearing aid batteries there. Anyone know of any hearing aid coupon batteries?

    • Liz

What zip code can I use to get the overnight diaper coupon? Thanks

      • Virginia

Walgreens doesn’t sell the Overnites anyway. CVS and Rite-Aid do, but they are always excluded from the deals at CVS.

Also, that coupon was available last month but was taken off of the coupons.com site for February. They change the coupons available each month.

      • Angel_in_Charleston

I went to three different Walgreens last week, and none of them carried the Overnight diapers. If anyone knows of a store in the Charleston area that does carry them, please let me know!

    • Natalie559

On the Ocean Spray Juice 2 for $5 I found peelies for $1 off. Pair that with the WG -$.50 and you have $1 cranberry juice!

    • C

Can I not get 2 RR for two different items from the same company in the same transaction? I tried to do the Embrace and Fusion razor systems in the same transaction and only got 1 $4 RR back. Is it considered the same offer so only gives back one? What will happen if I try to return one since I only got 1 RR back?

      • uknowme

You needed to do two separate transactions, the ad says, either the Fusion or the Embrace.

        • Melanie

I totally messed up this afternoon. I was hoping to get $10 back for my P and G purchase of the Crest Advanced Whitestrips. That did not happen. I also hoped to get some more P and G register rewards when I purchased an Olay body wash, Venus razor, and Fusion razor. The only thing I got back was $4 for the Fusion razor. I should know by now that I should have planned things out better. Had I done separate transactions and been more patient, I would have done better. Lesson learned.

    • If I am going to do the Garnier Fructis Hair Care deal, I was wondering if I could use 6 of the $1 coupons since I'd be buying 6 items. I would factor in the RR and buy filler items of course but I was just curious about why there are only 2 coupons used for the above reference. I get nervous about the difficulty of the Walgreens coupon policy so I'd like to try it but I'm wondering if there's just something I'm not catching.

    • Paul

Walgreens can take their “Register Rewards” and shove them back in their register!! They are terribly misleading! Maybe I'm doing something wrong…(my first “deal day” at Walgreens since taking couponing on). They would not let me use a register reward with a manufacturer coupon. They said you can't use both because the “register reward” is a manufacturer coupon. ARGH!!! Walgreens corporate sure will have a nice letter coming their way!

      • Angel_in_Charleston

You most certainly can use a RR with a manufacturer Q! Were you only buying one item, perhaps? If you were, that's why they wouldn't let you do it. RR are considered a Q and you can't have more Qs than items. If you had a filler item, it would have worked. (2 items and 2 Qs) Walgreens is definitely the most difficult store to deal with as far as coupons and rewards. Stick with it, though … it does get easier. Happy savings!

      • Ginger

Paul, whether they were right or wrong depends on what you were buying. If, for example, you were buying only one item, and you were trying to use the mfg coupon, and then the RR on top of that, it would not work. That's why a lot of Jenny's scenarios include an RR. And when you make that mistake, a helpful cashier will tell you to buy a candy bar or something small, and then try the RR again, knowing that will make it work. But the unhelpful ones will just tell you it won't work. If you post the exact items you were trying to buy, and what Qs you tried to use, someone here can probably explain what went wrong. Wags can be maddeningly confusing!

        • Ginger

Sorry, the post above should say, “That's why a lot of Jenny's scenarios include a FILLER ITEM.”, not “an RR.” That is a confusing typo.

    • Jenni

After reading through all the comments, trying to plan my Kotex/Huggies purchases, and seeing just how much TROUBLE Walgreens system IS, I'm really not sure if it's WORTH it! Filler items, don't use the same amount RR you expect to get, don't use the same company RR you expect to get, store coupons count/store coupons DON'T count… Sheesh! What a pain in the butt they make it for their customers!

      • Tracy

Just a heads up. I did the Kotex deal first and then used my RR to buy Huggies. My RR for Huggies didn't print b/c they are made by the same company. WAG is def. the biggest pain and I only go there if the deals are too good to pass up, and usually even then I regret going.

      • Sheila

Its really not that bad at Wags. They are my fav place to coupon at and the nicest employees here. Food Lion is my pain in the butt. Love Bi-Lo here. Give Wags a chance to prove themselves, ok.

    • After doing the match ups, I paid around $14 for 2 packs of Huggies, 3 Ritz, 2 Poligrips and a candy filler. I saved about $20!!

I subscribe to several money saving blogs, and whenever I need a product and want the best deal, I do an inbox search of the product and go from there.

The young male check out employee was very helpful for me. He reminded me that for every q used I needed a product. In order to to use my $3 RR from the first transaction, I had to pick up an item for at least .34. He pointed to candy and said that's .44.

My only complaint was almost all the products I purchased didn't have the sale tags on them.

    • Jessica

      Huggies RR Rolls
I went to wags today to do the Huggies deal, and I was able to roll my RR. Initially I was careful to use non-Huggies RR to pay for more Huggies, but on my last transaction I didn't care about getting any more RR so I used 3 huggies $3 RR to pay for my last package of huggies and to my surprise another $3 huggies RR printed out!

      • Jenni

I need diapers, so this gives me hope of actually being able to do the Kotex/Huggies deal. Thanks for posting it.

    • cindy

the joint juice offer is still going on untill -2-27-10 i just used my buy 1 get 1 and got 1 $ 10.00 rr

      • Dianne

Thanks! That's great news for me as I didn't get to the store until Saturday night and they were out! Yea!!

    • Kappie

I did go to W earlier today. I purchased the men's body wash and a pack of huggies diapers. I got $3RR and $6RR. Later tonight I had to go back to get chocolate for the men here. I then purchased huggies used the $2Q and chocolate. I also used the RR from the Dove Bodywash. I did not get any RR with that transaction….pretty bummed!!

      • lrose57

1 coupon per product, give the RR first (not the same manuf. as the product…), then the Manuf. coupons, then the WAGS coupons… 10 coupons 10 items, no matter what they are… even the managers are up to that one in my store…

    • jhoran

Unbelievable week at wag again!! Started out with 37RR. Finished with 16RR and spent 8.02 oops, saved 105.56
      2 Dove Mens Body Wash
      3 John freida Root awakening
      6 Garnier shampoo
      1 fusion mvp
      5 box Vicks Nyquil
      2 Puffs
      1 venus embrace
      1 olay body wash
      4 cs coke
      4 spices
      5 tin foil

    • jhoran

For all those people out there, don't give up!! Forget all the rumors you hear, it only adds to the confusion as to what you can do and what you can't. Your best bet is to find a great store with great employees. Check out Donna's post. It's exactly as she says it is. Good luck!!

    • Crista

Can anyone tell me the price on the Crest Whitening strips before the $10 off coupon?

      • 44.99

        • amanda

Sorry I thought you had written Listerine. Listerine is $21.99.

    • shel_2

It is because the employees are so unfriendly and poorly trained that I persist with Walgreens. The fact that they never have any stock on the items advertised in the flier is just another challenge. The system is difficult and you have to be careful, and as much as I love CVS, when you succeed with big deals at Walgreens, you feel like you just scored the winning touchdown!

    • Samantha White

The manager at my local Walgreens informed me that Register Receipts are considered to be manufacturers coupons and thus cannot be combined with other manufacturer's coupons on a single purchase. Additonally, “coupons” from the Walgreen's sales ad are also considered to be manufacturer's coupons.

He would only allow me to buy one Dove for men and told me I could come back another time to buy another. I complained because I knew they would be out of stock before the end of the day. I asked why didn't they order more product in anticipation of a sale. He told me, “The computer orders the stock and we have no control over it.”

This guy ought to run for political office somewhere. I've never been told so many lies in such rapid succession!

      • CJ

I might could understand the “RR are manufacturer's Q's” statement I keep hearing if RR had a particular item listed on them. Then that would be stacking. But they are nonspecific and say they are “off your next purchase.” If this logic were applied to regular manufacturer's Q's, then you would not be able to use more than one per transaction, even if they were for different items. That doesn't even make sense!

The RR cannot be used on a single purchase with a manufacturer's Q, because there have to be two items in order to use both – not because RR are manufacturer's Q's.

    • Robin

I found out that Publix takes the RR. I've had some question it but was told by a manager at Publix on Harbison that they take the RR since/if they say manufacturer coupon. A friend told me about this. I agree that couponing at Walgreens can be a real pain – I've just cancelled my order a few times and left – everyone is friendly but if there's an error the manager has to be called, everything voided and rerung – too much trouble. I can't seem to get the coupons and RR straight. I too find that simple transactions work best and if I start rolling too much I end up making a mistake. Using the RR at Publix is a great option!!

      • Paul

That's great Robin! I asked my wife yesterday to try the RR at Publix since Walgreens was being so rude. They wouldn't take it as a “competitor” coupon since they don't consider Walgreens a competitor. BUT the manager told her that if she had an item that was from the RR manuf. (e.g. Kimberly Clark, Unilever, etc.), then Publix would take it. EAT THAT WALGREENS!!

        • bridget

I have used RR at Harris Teeter in the past without any problems.

      • CJ

RR will scan at Publix as a manufacturer's Q. My Publix does it all the time. They do not have to enter it in as a competitor coupon.

    • Tonya

Please Help I was at walgreens sat and there machine wasn't working it should of printed a $10,$5,$4,$1 reward the lady said there maybe someone I can call?

      • jackie

you should go back and speak with a manager. I had a similar situation some time ago and since they couldn't get things to print out they just issued me a Walgreen's gift card with the amount I should have gotten in RRs… just remember to be firm but nice about getting your RRs, and mention that you are a repeat customer, and they should work with you.

      • Ginger

I've read other people on here say that you can call the Catalina company and they will send you your RR. I have never called them, so don't have the number, but maybe you could search it.
PS- I also agree with the above posted who said call the manager. My Bayer Catalina didn't print out last week, and the manager came and tried a few different things to get it to print– in the end, he just gave me cash!!! (Too bad that Wags is so far away, or I'd go there all the time.)

      • tonya

Does anyone have the number to call I tried to call the manager back and they were not helpful at all, said they have nothing to so with that and couldn't help me??

        • gingerinCA

Okay, I got this info from an article, so hopefully this is the right number:

Call Catalina Marketing at 1-888-8COUPON (1-888-826-8766) and leave a voicemail message. They'll ask for some info from your receipt and look up your transaction, then mail you the coupon you're owed.

          Hope it works!

PS–I seriously think you should email Wags and tell them about that manager, exactly what happened, and how he was when you called back. Because they WILL reach out to him, and he will have to call you back and apologize. I've emailed Wags twice over lousy customer service events, and that's what they do. And it's a good way to “train” the bad managers. They don't like to get a call from corporate.

Sometimes their machine is down, and it wont print, most of the cashiers wont mention it, if it happens , you should tell the cashier or manager, that you want to cancel the order, and if another register is printing the coupons, tell them you want to go over there and check out, and if the system is down it the store just go to another one.

I have done it before, and I don't feel bad about it, it's just a part of wagging, you do it to get the best deal.

      • tgold6

I would put everything you purchased back in a bag and if they don't want to give you the RR then return all of their merchandise. The manager will probably give you the RR instead of having to give you your money back

    • Jenny

I am new to shopping at walgreens… Why do you need or have a filler in transaction # 2?

      • CJ

You cannot have more coupons and/or register rewards than you have items in your transaction. Therefore, you have to buy a “filler” item to make your total number of items match or exceed your total number of coupons/register rewards for the transaction to go through. So if I have five coupons, or a combination of five coupons and register rewards, then I have to have at least five items in my transaction. Hope this helps!

    • jackie

anyone have a zip code that works for the huggies coupon or the $5/2 john frieda? I tried my own, 90210, and a couple others but no luck… thanks!

    • denielle

Does anyone know, if you buy the the fusion razor and the matching blades, do you get the $4RR for the razor and the $3 RR for buying both?

    • Amanda

Loved this week since I need diapers! I did 3 transactions at Walgreens. This is what I did in Chattanooga (as our Sunday paper filled with coupons was on sale for 1.00).

Huggies, Kotex (2), and Chattanooga Sunday Paper (filler item for 1.00)
      2.00 Huggies coupon
      1.50 Kotex coupon
      8.00 RR (from last week)
      2.00 RR (from last week)
      Total= 3.88
      Recieved 6 RR (3 + 3)

Huggies, Dove Men's Body Wash, and Sunday Paper
      -2.00 Huggies coupon
      -1.50 Dove coupon
      – 7 RR (from last week)
      = 6.87
      Received 9 RR (6 + 3)

      Huggies & Paper
      -2.00 Huggies coupon
      – 6 RR (from transaction #2)
      = 2.82
      Received 3 RR

So total cash spent = 13.57
RR received = 18 RR received used 6RR on # 3 have 12 RR for next week!
& I used all 3 Sunday papers for Pampers 1.50 off coupons (6 total) at Rite Aid with their Pamper deal (buy $50 and get a 15 doller gift card. Jumbo packs on sale for 8.99)!!

I think I have enough diapers to last until my daughter is potty trained :)

      • 1sable2u2

Amanda if you would like I can send you all my diaper coupons. I hate to just throw them away as it seems like throwing cash away. I have looked for a coupon exchange but can not find one. If you are interested my email is jnjtaxi@charter.net.

        • Anonymous

There is a coupon exchange. It’s called ecoupons, and you mail in your unused with a SASE, and you’re eligible to get back 25 other coupons. Their selection is sometimes limited, but the more people who do it, the less limited the selection will be, hopefully. Last time I used them, there was no charge, though I think they were considering adding a small fee.
http://www.ecoupons.com/ and then you want the subheading that says grocery coupon club.

      • Miranda

So am I to understand that the Huggies RR are rollable? This would be AWESOME!!!

      • Jasmine

If I wanted to Use my 5 RR from the John Frieda scenario towards the Huggies Deal, could I also use my $2 Huggies Coupon AND $1 off Huggies from the WAGs children's activity book – if I added 3 of the Disney Coloring Books (using the 3 for a $1 in-store coupon)?

    • Shanna

The $1 off Windex printable, where is that found?

    • carolyn090

w/ the tylonol adult deal as well as the nyquil at 4.99 each . does the 15.00 or 20.00 have to be before tax . because of the deal ideas im guessing no

    • Michelle

Wags is really not that complicated. If you understand the rules you can make it work in your favor compared to CVS where you are limited to items with your card. I have been a couponer for years and I have Wags pretty much figured out but you have to do your homework before you go in there so everything goes smooth. Count your items and count your coupons that is all there is to it. If you have more coupons then items, things are going to start beeping all over the place. WAGS coupons do not count in the mix.

Some times there are hick ups that are unexplainable. There are two tricks to a happy WAGs experience that work for me. Number one, stick with the one store as much as possible and get to know the cosmetic person. Be friendly with them, christmas cards, birthday cards, go in there every now and again just to say hello saying you were in the area and it has been a while! A friend behind the counter is all the difference. Some times they know more than you, other times not. Explain to them your procedures, web sites and how you find out about everything if they do not know and then you become the mentor to them. I have the email of both cosmetic people at my store and email them regularly. Also a part of number one is to do your homework so you are not creating undue grief for your cosmetic friends. If you are going to go in there with multiple transactions, do not make it 20. Make it 2-3 and ask them if they are ok with doing it first. Once you know the person and you become in the friend zone they will automatically expect it of you.

If something snags and you feel comfortable having them have to redo the whole thing then fine but do not make a stink out of it, do not lose your cool and just be apologetic and either put it all back or suck up the buck or two and move on.

Number two – ALWAYS go to the register with a hand full of extra items. If valentines day pencils are on for 20 cents, grab a fist full. If you start beeping like a body piercing contestant going through an airport scanner then start dropping the cheap extra items. If you have 2-3 heck 20-30 of them left over at the end, just take them back and put them on the shelves but 99% of the time if something beeps it is because you have misread your coupon to item ratio and just having something to throw up there that is 10-20-30 cents is always better than grabbing the first chocolate bar you see for a dollar and a heck of a lot healthier!

Anyway, there are stores that are very coupon UNFRIENDLY and stores that realize that a manu coupon is a manu coupon so they are getting paid regardless. Some of the register queens just hate to see someone getting a good deal and they are willing to take it out on the couponer. They get paid either way if someone comes up with 100 dollars in manu coupons or 100 in cash. Especially the cosmetic counter as they have the same quotas in ringing up sales as the front cashiers but only get half the traffic from organic flow through the store and the RR's and coupons all count so if you go in and you walk out the door with 50 or 100 dollars in product for 5 or 10 dollars, they still get the credit on their tally.

That is it, befriend the cosmetic person, stick with him or her, do your homework at HOME and not while standing in line with 5 people behind you angry that you are looking through your binder while they are waiting with screaming kids in the car and ALWAYS take a handfull of extra items ready to slap them down the second you hear a beep. The catalog always has them, have the flier with you, opened up to the page with the bar code on it so you can just flash it to the cashier and be done with it or go to the clearance section and buy as many cheepie things you can find and have them ready to go and you will have a happy WAGS experience.

(Now on the other hand to learn this I have had a lot of HORRID Wags experiences but stick to these rules and more than not they will always work out as the cosmetic person as soon as they see you and you exchange a hug or pleasantries etc knows why you are there and then you can get down to business. Doing this with a complete stranger at the main register every time from scratch never works out well.)

      Just a few thoughts!

      • Beth

LOL to the “beeping” reference. Very good advice and summary of Wags. I'm no expert, but everything you said is sooooo true, esp about cashiers. A lot of cashiers are unfamiliar with coupons, and think you're trying to pull something over on them. Or they've had bad experiences where they've gotten in trouble for something a dishonest couponer pulled on them. Once you make friends and they realize you are honest, problems should be few and far between. Oh, and another way of getting on a cashier's good side (or to thank them for being so awesome) is to buy the promotional items they try to get you to buy as you check out. They are normally near the counter and are often decent fillers. This month they are the 3 musketeer bars. The cashier gets some sort of bonus when you buy these.

        • CJ

I agree with this wholeheartedly. Good summation. I have two great cosmetics cashiers that I love going to. They will even pull out coupons they have under the counter if I am missing one. Just be organized and have your transactions separated and coupons in order and ready to go.

      • Lee

I was in Wags yesterday and bought the Men's Dove and used my 1.25 Q, and I didnt get my register reward for 6.00. When I questioned this I was told I was not going to get more in Q's than I paid. I returned the item and bought it w/o the Q and then was able to get my register rewards. This is the 1st time this scenario has happened to me there. Is that the policy? Any info would be helpful.
        Thanks, Lee

        • Tonya

I was able to use my manf coupon and get my rr for this without any problems.

        • Mrs

Yes, I have purchased something that was supposed to print out a Register Reward (to make the item “free”) and I used a manufacturer's coupon and the Register Reward did Not print. The store manager was checking me out and when I said that I thought it was supposed to print out a Register Reward, he told me that they were not going to “pay” me to buy something. I just returned the item.
I have also checked out at Cosmetics and have purchased items there were “free” after the Register Reward And I used a manufacturer's coupon and the the Register Reward Did print. I don't know. I'm assuming that the Store Manager pressed a button somewhere to say “do not print the Register Reward” but that is just what I am thinking.

        • WynetteC

Thank you for the heads up, hopefully this will not be the case with my local store!

      • HUH??????

Seriously? Are you a walgreens employee?? LOL! Why don't we bake them a cake too. Not! I am not going to bribe some worker just so they do their job without giving me grief. That is ridiculous!

    • heather

here is a link for a $2/4 on cokes. exp 2/10

ALERT: Walgreens registers are rolling the $3 RR from the Huggies deal. I saw a post on another website that this was happening, so I just went in and tried it. I bought 3 pkgs of diapers tonight and it kept rolling the $3 RR. Not sure how it's happening, but according to the Common Sense with Money blog, people are able to do this at Walgreens in many areas of the country. Very fun!

    • Pennydealchick

Has anyone had a problem with the Valentine photo card being a filler. They would not allow it due to the coupons states that the minimum order is 20???

    • Kelly

Degree deodorant is bogo at my Walgreens too. Just saw that tonight and wanted to share. I live in Florida.

    • Jels2005

I do not know if it was already mentioned but this week at Walgreens the Gilette Fusion Razors are $8.99 with $4.00 RR and then there is a $4.00 off manufacturers coupon in the Sunday paper inserts….so you get the razor (with 2 cartridges) for $0.99!

    • uknowme

Just to let you know, the Fusion 4RR is rolling again, just like last time, you can buy a Fusion razor, and use the 4RR from a previous purchase of a Fusion razor, and will get another one back. Never bought just the razor, have had at least another item with it when purchased.

    • chris

its rolling here in Sugar Land, TX also!!!! this is so much fun!!!!

    • waymire

the way i understand it, the idea of filler items is to have one extra low cost item to use the rr with a coupon, since you can only have one coupon per item and the rr counts as a coupon. however, i noticed all the filler items have thier own coupons listed. am i correct that you would have to use the fillers without the coupon to do the rr deal?

      • tryingcoupons

If the coupon is a WAGS coupon, it's ok. For example, for this week, you can purchase the Valentines Pencil as a filler item for $.20 with in-ad coupon. As long as it's not a manufacturer coupon, you are good to go! You just need to make sure that however many manufacturer coupons you have, you have an equal amount of items. Hope that helps?

        • gogogammy

I shop at Wags several times a week and the store cpns had never counted before toward coupon/item ratio. This week I did the Bayer deal, bought 3 aspirin, used 3 MC and the store cpn. from Feb. cpn book. The register wouldn't take my last Bayer Manf. cpn. I recounted and my ratio should have been right, but cashier said register said not enough items. When I checked my receipt after store cpn. did take of $3 ($1 per item) but it came up as manf. cpn, even though bar code was for store cpn. Hope this was just a glitch for this one item. Anyone know?

      • CJ

You do not have to use the fillers without the coupons. You will just need to get more than one of that filler if it has a store coupon. In other words, if you plan to use the skittles for .49, you will have to buy two, but you will only need one store coupon for both. So the extra pack of skittles would actually be your filler item. Some are saying their stores do not count store coupons towards their total coupons, but mine does. Hope this makes sense.

    • tryingcoupons

I think I've seen this on here before, so I'm sorry if I'm repeating a question – but do you have to pay out of pocket for taxes? Or will coupons and RRs cover tax?

      • erin

RRs will not cover taxes, you will need to pay tax.

    • rachel

Did anyone else have problems at the summerville, sc walgreens with not recieving a single register reward back? Cause I called corp. and spoke to them and they are working on resolving the issue.. so if you did call them with your reciept and let them know.. cause after speaking to the store manager today she told me I wasnt the only one.

    • seeker

On the Wet Ones, I have a printed coupon from a few weeks back that is $1.50 off of 1-40ct or higher, so this is a fantastic deal with the RR. Sale- 2/$4- Use 2-$1.50 off coupons and get $1RR back, makes both free.

    • QUESTION, if I do this scenaro

      **Deal Idea**
      Buy: (3) Root Awakening $5
      -$5/2 John Frieda printable
      -$2 off John Frieda printable
      Total Due: $8
Get Back: $5 RR, makes it $1 ea
Can I use either a $6 RR I got from Club Crackers(RR says COMB)

can I juse a $6 RR from Unilever without using a filler item?

Is it one peice of paper use per item?

Like thsi time I would be buying 3 items, using 3 items??

Still trying to figure all this RR.
      Thanks in advance!,,Saving in Dayton!!!

      • I'm pretty sure you can use either RR. You do need to have the same amount of items as you have coupons/RR (pcs. of paper) :-) . IF you are using 3 coupons/Rr, then you need 3 items in your transaction.

        • Virginia

Actually, if the $5/2 coupon is coded correctly, it should attach to 2 items, and the other coupon will attach to 1 item, so you WOULD need a filler in order to use a RR b/c there would be no items left for it to attach to otherwise. Coupons that are $/2 that are coded correctly will actually attach to 2 items in the register.

    • Vonda

When I go on your Red plum site I can not find the root awaking products from John Freda. I see them listing but not when I go to print. Can you help me?

    • Marie

Where is the coupon for the Super Poligrip

    • Susannah

Since I can't find th $5/2 john frieda coupon, can I use 3 of the $2 off coupons for 3 products?

      • yes. They are $2/1. So use three of them on three items.

    • Amy

just spent 21.12 and saved 33.83! BUT – at my Walgreens you no longer get RR if you use a manfacutere's coupon on the product…

    • Jen

I am trying to figure out a NyQuil deal, but don't want to buy the “new” NyQuil without the good decongestant in it. Does anyone know how many bottles of behind-the-pharmacy-counter NyQuil you're allowed to buy in TN without being arrested? I know this sounds ridiculous, but I really am being serious!

      • gogogammy

I live in Tn and when I had several of the $5 Sudafed coupons for behind the counter my Wags would only sell me one at a time. I bought one package a week until the coupons expired and they haven't come looking for me yet.

    • leah9798

I went to Walgreens today to use the RR for the first time. I was very skeptical because of the replies but the cashier was amazing! She even took my coupons and divided my order up herself so I could get the best deal. Also had the body wash behind the register and showed it to me in the flyer that it would be free, so she through that in there too. Very happy experiece!

    • tami

ok, I have a ?… it says Limit 1 coupon per offer below everything you get RR's for…So, I am wondering if I do 2 separate transactions for the Frappucinno *using my $1 off coupons and getting the RR's from them…I planned to buy the men's wash using my coupon and $1RR, and then buy a 2nd mens wash-will it let me apply the RR from the 1st mens wash toward the 2nd mens wash and still get the RR back from the 2nd one?

      • tamika

i called..they said it wont print the 2nd one if i use the RR for the same item to pay for it :(

        • wendylaine

ok so the roll over works on somethings but not on others?
          i guess i shouldn't post an answer unless i'm 100% sure sorry

        • Wags doesn't allow you to “roll” your RR. You can do multiple transaction, but if you want 2+ of the same item, you have to intermix you r transactions. Tonight I bought #1 the bodywash, #2 the swiffer stuff, #3 bodywash, #4 swiffer stuff. This way my RR from one worked on a different product.
CVS allows you to “roll” them over and over w/ no mixing it up.

      • wendylaine

yes you will still get the RR for the second one but you will need a filler item if you are going to use your rr and a coupon it is really just one coupon per item

    • wendylaine

my question is about this sale item
Venus Embrace Razor System or 3 pk Disposable Razors
-$2 off Venus Embrace or Spa Breeze system Razor PG 2/7
Free Olay Body Wash wyb Venus Embrace or Venus Breeze Razor PG 2/7
can you use both of those coupons on your purchase (with fillers of course) and also i have a coupon for -$1 olay body wash will they take $1 off my total for that or not since it is technically free already

      • CJ

You can use one manufacturer's coupon per item purchased. So you could use the $2 Venus coupon for the razor, but for the body wash, you would have to choose either the Free Olay body wash coupon or the $1 off if they are both manufacturer's coupons. You can only stack store coupons along with manufacturer's coupons on the same item.

    • wendylaine

also i just wanted to point out that the phot card says a minimum of 20 per order has anyone gotten away with just buying it as a filler

    • lindleyR

        • BeverlyB

It's in the Smart Source section of Feb 7th's newspaper. Not everyone received that offer, but I noticed it was in my paper (I'm in Charlotte, NC). Too bad I didn't see it until after my trip to Walgreens today! Now I'll have to head back to Walgreens again later this week.

          • Dianne

I found in in my SS from the AJC!!! Thanks for sharing!

        • cindy

      • sundrop474

Went today to get the Schick Quattro. At my fave WAGS there was a $5/2 peelie on the razor itself. bought two for 19.98 – 5.00 – 8.99 rebate – $3 RR (it only prints one RR since I had to buy them in same transaction) = 99 cents for two razors!

Awesome day at WAGS! I even got my RR to roll for the first time ever w/out any beeps!!

    • I was SOOOO happy! One of my RR had expired on Sat and they still allowed it to go thru!! I spent $9.04 and saved $27.48 for a percentage of 75.
I bought 2 Dove+Men bodywash, 2 Swiffer dusting cloths, 1 Dry cloth, 1 wet cloth, 1 Magic Erasor, 1 Mr.Clean, 2 Sure deoderant (raincheck) and 4 gift bags (filler). Used $3 RR, 1.50 Dove Q's, $2 Swiffer cloth coupons, $1 Swiffer dusting Q's, 75 cent Q's for Mr. Clean and Erasor, and 1.50 Sure Q's. Every item had a Q.
I was pleased,as that $9 would have only bought 2 or less of the swiffer at any other store.

    • Jenn

The Sudafed deal did not work for me tonight. They told me it had to be $15 before tax and after coupons. So if you are trying this deal you will have to buy 4 packs in order for it to work according to the way it was explained to me.

    • Marie

Went to Walgreens on yesterday, I had a good experience. Here is what I brought:

      (3) John Freida (Awakening) $5.00 each Total $15.00
      (2) Kotex $3.00 each Total $6.00
      (1) Ajax .79 Total .79

Grand Total was $21.79 not including taxes

Used: (1) Coupon for $5.00/2 John Frieda
used: (1) Coupon for $2.00 off John Frieda
Used: (1) Coupon for $2.00/2 Kotex Pads

Grand Total after coupons was $6.00 and some change with out taxes with taxes $8.00 in some change. I also received $5.00 RR and $3.00 RR not bad for a beginner.

      • frustrated

Where is everyone getting the John Frieda coupon $5/2… I can't access that, or the poligrip coupon! This is frustrating as I cant work out any deals without the coupons… and it happens every week I try these scenerios!

        • Marie

I found the John Frieda coupons on Smart Source but could only find the $2.00 coupon for John Frieda Awakening. I could not find the Poligrip coupons either.

    • Kelly

I have had a great three months with Walgreens. Until today, someone help me figure out what happened.
      I bought:
      I fusion razor
      2 kotex pads
      I used:
      $4 off
      $2 off
      $5 RR from Theraflu
then I added a filler .40 and tried to use a $2 RR from Kellogg. It won;t not accept this RR. I did get my two RR from Kotex and P&G from the purchase. Why would the 2 RR not work. The manager told me that I can not use a RR to get a RR. It has been working for three months??/

      • gingerinCA

Doesn't make any sense to me. What was your filler?

        • Kelly

          I got the 3 Musketeer…

          • gingerinCA

Does the 3 Musketeer require the in-ad Wags coupon? The only thing that makes sense to me is, maybe it was counting the Wags coupon against you– some people say that their store coupons do count as coupons. They shouldn't, but I can't see any other reason why it would beep your Kellogg RR. Not that I'm an expert– Wags is so frustrating sometimes!

      • Suemh

Was your $2 Q the $2/2 Kotex? If so, that may explain it. It would have attached to 2 items, so the 2nd RR would have given you more Q's than items. You added another item and another Q, so you still had more Q's than items. At least, this is what happned to me one time and when I added another filler, it went through.

        • gingerinCA

Wait, really? I thought Wags store Q's were the only ones that attached to 2 items, and since store Qs don't count, I didn't think it mattered. That probably explains why I sometimes have those mystery transactions where you just have to keep adding fillers! That makes sense.
I might go in and buy just the Kotex in one transaction, and see if it lets me use the $2/2 Q plus a RR.

          • Suemh

The difference here is that the $2/2 Q applied to 2 items (you have to buy 2 to use the Q), leaving nothing for the second RR to be applied to.

    • frau_sauerkraut

I don't think the Crest Whitestrips are for the same quantity. Could be wrong. I'm a newbie.

    • LaDora

There is a “Friends and Family” discount coming this Friday, Feb. 12th. You can text it, or should be able to print it online tomorrow. To get it through text, simply text “HEART” to 21525, and you will get a text.

    • lauriehutchinson

FYI – The Rembrandt Whitener is a great deal. The two hour kit is usually 23.99, in ad coupon is 9.99 and using the printable of $5.00, the kit ends ups being $4.99. My kit had a full-size Rembrandt toothpast in it, too. Awesome!!!!

      • Amanda

I have tried and tried to print the $5 coupon and it never prints! Is there anywhere else I could get it and does anybody know why it wouldn't print? Also do Wags stores have their weekly ad available in store?

        • lauriehutchinson

Not sure about the coupon, but my Wags always has ads in the store just as you walk in.

    • nanacozzi

The printable coupon for $1 off motrin has ended. Thanks for all you do to help us save money!!!

    • gery220

Ok I am new to all this and I am loving my savings. But jenny how did get the Garnier to be @ 66 cents each???

      • Suemh

I think Jenny must mean to use 6 coupons, one for each item bought.

    • Lisa

Just wanted to let you know that I just came back from Wlagreens. The manager helped me out because they were a little backed up at the cash registers. I saved about 60% plus earned more register rewards for next time. My biggest expense was the 4 12 packs of coke products. He also let me know that the registers have been ringing up and giving a RR for purchases of the new 3 musketeers bars at .69 each. I purchased three new ones and a regular 3 Musk. bar and received a RR of $1. the truffle 3 Musk. bars are very yummy!!! He was so patient seeing how I am a newbie to this. He even gave me some pointers. They have 2 reg. customers every month that spend $40 for $200 worth. They had good attitudes there.

I have aquestion. I have a catalina from wags for 1.50 off jihn frieda lux. volume,it says is a mq and begins with 5 but I was wondering if this would count as a mq ora store cpn since it says redeem at walgreens? any help would be appreciated thx. oh and 1 mor does bayer make excedrin? I want to use my $10 RR from the contour meter to pay for excedrin

      • gingerinCA

Technically, it is a mfr coupon. But before you try to use it anywhere but Wags, you should probabl ask if they will take it. I only know of 1 store where I am that will take a Catalina with another store's name on it. Don't know about the Excedrin/Bayer question.

      • gailcope

There are all kinds of MQs that have other stores name or logo on them. They are all still MQs. The Walgreens RR is a MQ.
As long as it starts with a 5 or 9 it is a MQ. You can use Target MQ's at Walgreens or Rite Aid. I use my coupons at Walmart, City Market, Safeway & Alberstons. We don't have a Krogers here – but I heard you can use the RR's there as well.
I would ask before using the RR's at any store you are planning on using them at.

    • melanie

I bought the super poligrip ($2.00 get $2.00 RR) and there is a -$1 off coupon inside the box! I'll be getting another! I didn't have the q from the paper mentioned and could not print the printable for some reason.

    • Casey

Bought a dove mens care the other day, and made the fatal mistake of using that RR to try and buy another. I guess that does not work huh? I did not get another reward for $6 back. I am new to this, and as a man, this is extremely difficult to figure out. I have made a dozen or so purchases with coupons in the past month, but have forgotten at least one coupon every time, or used the wrong RR or xtra buck. My wife and son laugh at me, but I bring home bags of stuff from CVS and Walgreens for just a few dollars each week. Thanks for the tips ladies, and of course Jenny. Please consider an all man site with pretty pictures and even simpler instructions. Just kidding. Happy saving everyone!!!

      • Donna

you can return it and redo the transaction if you want.

      • Nydia

Way to hang in there and props to you! My husband got ME started on this and we both have learned some hard lessons but just keep at it. Way to go… I know it's hard feeling like the only man here. I used to laugh at my husband for being “the only guy” and now I couldn't be happier that he started doing this!

    • Katie

Hi Jenny, I love your site and use it every week now. I have been CVS'ing for a couple of months now and am thinking of branching out to Walgreens now. I read your “guide to Walgreens”, but was confused by the need for “filler items”. After wading through this weeks comments, I believe I have figured out that you cannot have more coupons than items actually purchased. But you can do the deals as many times as you want, you simply cannot roll the RR's onto the same products. Is this all correct? I just wanted to suggest that you add a little explanation to your Guide to Walgreens explaining the #of coupons/# of items restriction. Thanks so much for all you do, you're awesome!

    • Holly

I'm new at this, and I have a question. How does B1G1 50% off work? Is it like B1G1F where you can just buy one and get it 50% off. Can you just buy one and get it 25% off, or do you have to get the second item?

      • Donna

When buying a B1g1 at a grocery store they split the price, when buying a b1g1 at a drugstore you actually buy one and get the other free. you would want to get the second item when buying at a drugstore or you lose your free item.

    • steph

I am in desperate need of help figuring out my transactions!!!! Any help would be so greatly appreciated…

      I want to get:

      Dove men's bodywash
      3 dr. pepper
      vicks nyquill
      gillette fusion razor
      venus embrace
      olay body wash
      garnier hair stuff

how many transactions do I need to maximize the RR's? I have coupons for everything, but am so mathematically challenged!!!! Been going round and round trying to figure out what to buy then what to buy next to save the most!!!

thank you thank you thank you!!!!

    • MAC

Sorry, I'm a newbie. But I've seen John Freida Hair products on sale before with the Root Awakenings coupons listed below. So I printed them and went in and they are two completely different products. The Root Awakenings weren't even on sale. So what's the trick here? Why are they listed interchangably? I'm confused.

    • Cindy

In regards to the cashiers, apparently Walgreens is making the cashiers personally responsible for any errors and they have to pay for the errors out of pocket. So it explains why they often have an attitude.

      • Cathy

Good customer service means keeping their attitude in check. That is what is wrong with Walgreens – their rude cashiers.

      • Brianne

That must have been why the poor kid was shaking like a leaf when I was going through the line tonight. I was thinking… why doesn't he just scan the coupons and not worry about it???? That explains it!

    • Jeepgal397

I have only been couponing since October and I have always been leary of using Walgreens but Walgreens has recently won me over this week. I have bought over $120 worth of items this week for only $30 and I also have $15 RR to use for my next run. This to me is worth trying. Walgreens is picky but if you learn their game it makes it worth it. It takes time and I am still learning. But this is great I would have never been able to buy all of this product before for the full prices and now every week. I get a high from just amount I save at Walgreens and CVS alone. This is great but patience is the key!

    • Brooke82

So I went to my local Walgreen's tonight thinking that it would be a bad experience for me like it has been for a few others. I have to admit it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I went to the cosmetics register so that I could use my 15% discount coupon. The cashier used the 15% coupon on all transactions! I was surprised. I purchased 2 packages of Huggies diapers and used (2)$2 off coupons. She scanned a in store coupon for a $1 off for each one of the diapers that I had no clue about. The diapers ended up being $2.99 per pack! This was a great first trip for me and I will definitely be going back for more! Thanks you guys for all of your tips!

    • gingerinCA

I had a Wags issue, I hope someone will offer an opinion on. My first and second transactions were fine- Poligrip and Dove Men's, with coupons, got back 2RR and 8RR. Huggies, with coupon and RRs, got back $3RR.
THEN, the problem. Got 6 Garnier- 3 conditioners and 3 style products, used 6 coupons, a 10$ RR and a $3RR, paying $4.95 after tax, but the register didn't print my $10RR from Garnier. After the manager said it was because I MUST be using a 10$RR that I already got from Garnier, and basically calling me a liar twice, until I made the cashier pull out RRs that I used and showed him that it said “Thanks from Pepsi,” he voided and re-rang at a different register, and still it didn't print my RR. We checked every item to be sure it was in the ad- it was. Finally, he decided that it wasn't printing my RR because of the 6 1.00 Garnier coupons, because thay say 1 coupon per purchase. I tried to explain that's not the same as 1 per transaction, but he wasn't buying it. So I left the stuff, but I still want that Garnier, and I can't figure out why the RR wouldn't print. Any ideas? I want to try again today, but can't take a huge hassle. BTW, I had my fillers, so lack of filler wasn't an issue.

    • Kenziegirl

WAGs was out of the Dove Mens body wash. They would only give me a Rain check for the sale price 5.99 not the RR. Is this the way it works for rain check items and RR?

      • gingerinCA

It is at my Wags. If they're out of the RR items, you're just out of luck. :(

    • kellholl

At Walgreens today I bought 3 boxes of Tylenol cold at 4.99 each, but did not get my $5 RR because it totaled 14.97 and not $15 before tax!?! Based on your scenario, I thought 3 was enough :(

      • gingerinCA

That's right, unfortunately. If you read through the comments above, at least 2 of us mentioned this mistake. Everyone makes them sometimes, even Jenny. :(
I hope you had them void out or refund the transaction, at least!

    • Emily

Jenny often lists “FIller” items with in-ad coupons. Does the in-ad walgreens coupon count as a coupon in a transaction? For example, it I have 2 items and I want to use 3 manufacturers coupons, can I throw in a cheap “filler” item that has a in-ad coupon? Hope that makes sense.

      • gingerinCA

Yes, that's exactly right. That should work.
