I love this time of year when we see lots of great prices on fresh veggies and fruits.   Citrus is coming in really cheap right now, so I’ve highlighted some recipes with those ingredients.  Remember that rainchecks are your friend with produce & meat – if you ever see your store out, be sure to ask for a raincheck and enjoy that price for the next month!

Another thing we make when the mahi goes on sale at Kroger, is to grill it and serve with mango salsa.
Peel and dice one mango, peel, seed and dice one cucumber, 1/3 of a red onion diced, some fresh cilantro leaves and then drizzle on sauce: 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil, 1 tbsp rice vinegar, couple dashes of soy sauce and about a tablespoon of rooster sauce (sriracha chili sauce). It doesn't have to be exact on the measurements and it's so fresh and summery tasting it's one of our favorites here. Not sure of the points but it can't be high since all the produce is free, the only fat is the half tsp of sesame oil.
