Is buying in bulk aways the best way to save? I started this experiment thinking it was, but was surprised at the outcome! Publix BOGO deals can put items on deep discount and make them cheaper than anything you could get at a place like Sam’s Club or Costco. Spoiler alert – watching prices at both is beneficial! Don’t pass by canned and dry goods at Sam’s – buying in bulk *can* be cheaper and is less work than looking for BOGOs and stacking coupons. Here’s how it all worked out: I looked at 14 items. Seven of them were cheaper by unit price at Sam’s Club, six were cheaper at Publix, and one item was about the same. Where you choose to shop will depend on how much you want to save and if you want huge packages of items.
