CVS Weekly Ad 12/6-12/12

CVS is looking a little better this week. There are numerous freebies and a few things that are not free but great prices.  I’m always happy when there is a Bayer Meter deal!  I think every household should have one for safe keeping, then after you have your one, as you continue to coupon give the rest to homeless shelters, medical missionaries, free clinics etc.
If you see anything else in the store please share!shoppinglist1

Remember to get and use your CVS Bag Tag for $1 ECb every 4th shopping trip!

This is not necessarily what I will do in the store, it is more an example to show folks that you really can use CVS to get most anything you need for pennies on the dollar!

Why do I put it in numerous transactions?
This is to reduce my out of pocket cost.  If you group this all together this would cost you up front $24.92 rather than the total $1.98 I spent.  Your goal is to break it into transactions that equal the ECB’s that you have in your hand.

Do they care about the many transactions?
Not if you are a nice shopper.  Get it all in your buggy at one time, go to the corner of the store and get your transactions ready.  Seperate items into groups and even put the right coupons with them so that you will be fast checking out.  As you check out if anyone gets behind you in line, finish the transaction you are on and step to the back of the line.

I personally think CVS has the best cashiers ever.  Most every one of them is out to help you and will cheer you on.  If they have no idea what you are doing, then they will ask at the end of it all “How did you do that??” and be eager to learn!

Here's an extra treat to go along with the Olay deal listed in the comments above. I just received in my email a rebate form for the lotion. Since it will be rung up on the register and then the "free" coupon deducted along with other Q's, you will have a receipt with the purchase price to submit for the rebate. Good deal, free coupon and rebate! Here's the link for the form.

  • Rebekah
what do you do with the meters?
  • Monica
Where are the CVS $5 off $25 orders? I am missing them.
  • Damien Barber
I got the Essence of Beauty stuff today because I saw the sign up (did not realize it was a 3 day sale) and the ECBs did not ring up and I said the sign said there was $4 ECB for each (limit 2) and she gave me the ECBs. I did not mean to cheat the company, but hey they should have taken down the signs if the deal was not on... I only bought them because the sign enticed me because they were only .99 after ECB.
  • kelli
If the signs were still up, I don't think that you were cheating them. They should've taken the signs down on Tuesday night.
  • Damien Barber
Yeah, that is kinda how I feel too, but I still feel a little bad that their mistake resulted in my profit.
  • Sue
    Jenny,

Your website is awesome! I have always find CVS prices higher than other stores but I am definitely shopping there using your tips. I hope the methods also work in the northeast CVS stores.
  • Heather
In the box for the Bayer meter there was a mail in rebate. Can I send that in and get 14.99 back even though I used a coupon and got it free?
  • M Rose
That has never worked for me when the price was free:( sorry!
  • Melissa
do you need a prescription for the bayer meter?
  • Tina
    nope. ;-)
  • Susie Hardy
Where do you find the coupon?
  • Melissa
purchased the HP cartridges (had to have them and they were only a few bucks more at CVS and then i got the ecb, so it was worth it), but anyway, i received the $10 ecb and then also a $5 off $15 purchase coupon good for the next 3 days!
  • Misty
Didn't get the KY Q in the B'ham news. I was wondering if anyone had an extra one they would be willing to part with? It would be greatly appreciated!
  • Susie
The coupon for the Bayer meter says you need a prescription. Is that true?
  • Melissa
did you find out if you need a prescription for the bayer meter?
  • Jenny
You do not need a prescription for it.
  • Susie Hardy
    Jenny,
Can you tell me where to find the Bayer meter coupon? I must be overlooking it? I went to my CVS last night and they would not take the coupon since I do not have a prescription because that was printed on the coupon.
Thanks so much!! LOVE YOUR SITE!
    Susie
  • M Rose
I've done the Bayer deal a gazillion times and NEVER had to have a prescription. I would try another store. I donate mine or give them to friends with diabetes!!
  • Shannon
Where did you find information about the Neosporin clip free coupon. I had printed the $3 off coupon but my store in Charlottesville, Virginia still had them ringing up at $5.29 (full price) Thanks!
  • kelli
when they had the $2.50 clip free coupon the last time, neither of the stores in my area had them marked, but they were still $2.50 off. I would just price check them, if you can find them in the store.
  • sara
There are usually ClipFree booklets in the front of the store where the wqeekly ads are kept. It is listed in there.

I have not been able to find the product in the stores. The one near my house does not carry it and another one only had one hook for them and were out. :(
  • Michelle
Love CVS! I started with $10.48 ECB and left with 16.96 ECB

Transaction 1: Bayer Contour Meter 14.99-14.99= $.90 OOP after tax, get $5 ECB
    Transaction 2: Complete Multi Purpose Contact Solution 9.99- $1 coupon= 8.99-8.89 ECB= .70 OOP after tax, got 9.99 ECB
    Transaction 3: 2 Mini Ornaments (3.98), 2 Santa Hats (7.98)= 11.96-11.58 ECB= 1.10 OOP after tax, got 11.96 ECB
  • Susie
    I can't find the $1 coupon. Help!
  • Michelle
I had it from the 10/25 Red Plum. I couldn't find it on the website.
  • Melissa Y
Jenny, thanks for putting up the information in the scenario...I now understand how to get the most out of my money at CVS. I had Hubby go with me today so we could each get a Bayer meter and a pack of Huggies. Walked out with oop expenses of $2.06 each, for the Huggies (had a save $2 on one package from an IP last month), didn't get charged tax on the meter. I am pretty sure I couldn't have gotten the daipers much cheaper and with a 2 year old and a newborn I need all the help I can get on getting cheap diapers. Thanks for all you do for all of your loyal followers!
  • heather
Just a note...have a friend who works for CVS and told me about this deal. Olay body wash is on sale for 5.99. There was a q in last Sundays PG coupons for buy 1 olay body wash, get a lotion free. The lotion is 9.99, so saved $10. Works well if you have extra ECB's.
  • Rebekah
is this sale still going on in the west columbia/cayce, sc area?
  • Bridget
    Heather,

thanks for the heads up, however, when I went to do the deal just once (they only had 1 lotion left) the register WOULD NOT TAKE the 9.99 off for the free lotion. Cashier tried it twice. First time she took the 5.99 off for the body wash. I left the stuff at the register. Not mad, just disappointed because I was all psyched about using my 5/30 and getting a great deal. I may try another store later today.
  • kelli
great find. if you have 2 coupons and a $5/$30 from the medicare quiz... it would only be $6.98 plus tax for it all!
  • kelli
I did this deal today. I bought 2 lotions and 2 body washes. I got body wash that's regularly priced $8.99. I used a $5/$30 coupon and 2 "free lotion wyb body wash" coupons. I paid with $6.99 in ECBs and $1.34 for tax. This was a great way to burn some of the extra bucks that I've been worried about figuring out how to roll.
  • Joyelle
Just went to CVS and the cashier couldn't take my $30 off coupon for the Bayer Contour Meter...she got the manager and he said no that they can't just take off the 14 dollars and whatever cents because when they send the coupon to the manf. they are reimbursed $30 and that puts them in a position of fraud toward the manf. Anyway, so I didn't get that deal. :o( but I did get a $5 off $15.00 coupon when I scanned my card in the little machine thing.
  • Tracie
CVS should take this $30 coupon, even though the meter is only $14.99. The coupon states "Save up to $30" and if the price is $14.99, then you save up to $14.99. There is a box on the coupon for the cashier to input the value of the coupon. I'm guessing they wouldn't take it because it beeped when they scanned it, due to the discrepancy in price. You need to get them to take this coupon, it is not coupon fraud, just coupon laziness on CVS's part.
  • Joyelle
I think I will go to another CVS and see what happens. Couponing definately saves money, but at times it seems like lots of work.
  • Joyelle
Went to another CVS today and got my contour meter without any problem!! Yeah, also got Huggies diapers and a bag of candy and a green tag thing for using a reusable bag and the whole trip only cost $1.08....wonderful shopping trip!
  • kelli
I had a similar issue at Walmart last night. I had a coupon that was "save up to $4 on wyb any 2." There are all kinds of drama about the coupon. The last time I used the same exact coupon they adjusted it down and wrote on it, even though there wasn't a place to write on it, because it said "up to" on it. Last night they told me that they were unable to take it because I was only buying $3.96 worth of items and they couldn't adjust it down because the cashier's drawer would come up short 4 cents for each of the 3 coupons. I was literally at the register for 30 minutes because the cashier didn't have any idea what she was doing with coupons.
  • Laurie
Just a note for the person in Portland, TN, please stop buying the Bayer Meters. I was in the store and they were all out. The cashier was not to happy that you have so many. I am sure you are giving them to charity, however, we don't want to get the store mad at us "SAVERS". Thanks in advance.

Jenny - I love this website!!! Thanks so much for all your hard work!!
  • Tina
I don't get this, my CVS ad says the Accu-chek meter is on sale. My coupon is for Bayer. Will it work?
  • Stephanie B.
Both are on sale, but only the Bayer meter gets the ECB's. Look at page 23 of the ad - that's where the Bayer meter is advertised.
  • Annamarie
I got the Craig mp3/video player yesterday for 77cents yesterday...this is how.
Contour monitor (1.72 oop for this)
santa hat and ornaments (2 transactions, paid tax on the first one and the second was free and I kept these)
Then I bought the Complete using the $2 coupon. This cost me @$8.00 oop but I use it and decided to go ahead with the expense and see how low I could get my oop on the mp3.
I took the $9.99, the 1.99 and 3.99, paired it with the $4 off $20 from my email and then I used the coupon from the gift book and walked away with $4 ECB's. WOO HOO :)
  • There is a 2.00 coupon at www.zantacotc.com
  • Heather Dixey
How can I find out what the month long deals are? Is there a special flyer for them?
  • kelli
a lot of them are in the clip free coupon book, most stores have these with the weekly sale papers. I'm not sure if there are other monthly deals.
  • GlendaT
Will CVS honor coupons from other stores?
  • kelli
I'm pretty sure that most of them will not take competitors coupons. I have seen a few people mentioning that their stores will though. Just ask.
  • Tausha
Anyone in the North Pinellas/Pasco area of FL that is diabetic or need meters? I have a few and figured I check here for loyal followers first.
  • Lisa
If you buy 2 of the santa hats at once will 2 of the $3.99 ECB print out or do you have to buy them one at a time?
  • D
one at a time... it will print out an ECB for 7.98 otherwise.
  • Sara B
I was able to get the Bayer meter, and only pay $1 something in tax. I tried to do the exact scenarios, but they didn't have the ornaments for $1.99, so I got 2 santa hats, some stickers and the huggies. I ended up paying $1.99 more for the huggies because I didn't have the $1.99 ECB from the ornaments, but still, for the meter, stickers, 2 hats and huuggies, I paid $5.00. I was able to find a friend who was in need of a meter, so I'm sending it to her tomorrow. At least I feel good that I could do something for someone else who was in need. Plus, I'm sending her the coupon for up to $20.00 off the Bayer test strips!
  • Chelsea Marie
    Hey,

Will someone fill me in on how to print multiple coupons through target's site? I have been trying to print off eight of the $1 coupons for Revlon products, but it will not let me.

    Thanks!
  • LD
From what I understand this new target system for printing coupons will not let you print multiples . ugg I dont like it . I like the old one better .
  • The Mentalist
Does anyone know where the coupon link on the page is on $2 Complete Solution printable? I do not see any option for coupon on that website. Thx
  • ashley
FYI No more Neosporin Lip at Simpsonville CVS :(.
  • Meme
    Hi!

Just a note to say THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for all of your tireless effort and work.

My DD has a life-threatening illness and you have NO idea how much your site helps me to save $$ which frees up $$ for medical costs.

God bless you for your very important work!
  • Jenn
I bought the Loreal EverPure shampoo deal this morning and my ECB did not print. The cashier was super nice about it and forced them for me, but just a heads up.
  • Melissa
Also, thanks Jenny for your website, I voted for you on 12/4, hope you win!
  • Melissa
If you look on page 110 of this week's People magazine (the one w/Tiger Woods on the front) there is a $4.00 off any Revlon Colorstay Foundation, powder, blush or concealer product. This would be great to use with the CVS Revlon ECB's deal.
  • Melissa
The Revlon $2.00 Eye product coupon is on page 115 and the Revlon $2.00 Lip Product is pag 117....so a total of $8.00 in Q's.
  • LD
I had a great morning at CVS I did 4 transactions paid 2.02 out of pocket tax and left with 14.00 ecb [started with none] I love getting paid to buy things. I never do good with cvs but starting with no ECB's seemed to help lol.

  • LD
forgot about the most important thing

2 8 roll packs of scott TP
  • WynetteC
I love those kinds of deals. It makes the shopping trip worth all the work! :)
  • Sara B
I started collecting the inserts about 11/1, and didn't have the Oct ones at all. A few weeks ago, my mom had an old paper in her house so I swiped the inserts lol and come to find out, it's the 10/25 ones, so I have the $30 off the meter. I have 2 people in my family who are diabetics, so that would be awesome if I could give it to one of them (if they need it!) and if not, I'm totally going to donate it. Any suggestions on where I can bring it? I know there is a St Vincent De Paul and Salvation Army shelter, but that's it... I'm really excited about being able to get it for free and giving it to someone who really needs it! :)
  • Christine

I printed off the Revlon coupons, but it took me to Target's website to do so. Will CVS honor competitor coupons such as Target?
  • ashley
No KY coupon in Greenville Newspaper
  • Pamela
Heads up- no more available prints on the Neosporin :-(
  • kelli
    Also, I forgot to mention...

I don't know if this has been said anywhere else, but there seem to be problems with the ECBs that have printed out recently, for the Black Friday sales in particular, If you check your account online, they will most likely not all be there. I tried using quite a few from Thanksgiving day Today and they beeped. I was lucky enough to have them just push them through for me but I'm guessing that some people will not be this lucky. Neither the cashier or the manager had any idea why it was that they aren't working but the manager did say that he had the same thing happen to him yesterday when he was trying to use some of his ECBs.

This happened to me as well. I called the 800 no. and after about a 30 minute call they eventually told me the missing EBs would print in 48 hours on my next receipt. I hope they are right.
  • LD
yes and if you look online in your acct lots of ecb's are missing there too uggg. So glad I used all mine up the day I got them and started with 0 today . Someone screwed up big time in programing .
  • Sue
How do you check your ecbs online?
  • kelli
I went to CVS this morning and actually found everything that I was planning on buying. I think I was the first one in the store, so I guess I had to best chance to get everything. I bought:

    1 Emergen-C = $3.99
    1 Zantac 150 = $8.99
    1 Reese's Cups = $2.50
2 Essence of Bath & Body lotion = $4.99 each
2 Merry Brite Santa Hats = $3.99 each
2 Merry Brite mini ornaments = $1.99 each
    - $5/$30 from medicare quiz
    - $2 off Zantac
    - $2.50 off Hershey's or Reese's holiday packaged candy
    - (2) $2/$10 CVS brand products
    - $23.87 ECBs ($8.99, $8.29, $4, $1.59, $1)
    Subtotal: $.05, Tax: $1.16, Total: $1.21, Total Saved: $42.86, ECBs Earned: $32.92
  • Maryse
    Kelli,
I'm curious, the Merry Brite products qualify for the $2/$10 CVS brand products but what you purchased (2 Merry Brite Santa Hats = $3.99 each
2 Merry Brite mini ornaments = $1.99 each) did not add up to enough to use (2) $2/$10 CVS brand products. How did you manage that?
  • meg
Essence of Bath and Body is a CVS brand too-
  • D
just for the record, most CVS' will turn over the sales and have both the previous weeks sales and the upcoming week (saturday's sales) on Fri night at 6:00 PM. That is the way my store does it, at least.
  • WynetteC
enjoy your store, there are two CVS's in town here and each one is polar opposite of when the sale starts, so I choose the friendlier one
  • Alisha
Do you earn ECB's online for in-store items that are listed to give you the ECBS? For example, when you purchase 2 HP ink cartridges you get back $10 in ECBs. CVS is running a 30% off for Family and Friends. If I were to purchase 2 HP ink cartridges at 30% off would I still earn the $10 ECB's?
  • LD
Nope , no ecb for online [gettting or useing] . The employees did get a card for the friends and fam. sale they can hand out it is for instore . So if you are friends or a cashier really likes you , I was not lucky enough, but others have been. lol

I went last night to cvs and got the contour, 2 shine n spray by swiffer, swiffer clothes and 2 febreeze sprays. My subtotal was .50 and then they added tax. $2.56 that tax will kill ya. Anyways my receipt said i saved $100, since the contour normally is 65. I love saving plus I got 10 ecb back. My house is gonna smell great!

When do these deals go into effect? Midnight?

    Thanks!
