We all have grand plans of packing shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child and some years, you just can’t find the time or completely forget.  I wanted to let you know that you have a second chance!! Operation Christmas Child has a Build-A-Box program online.  You can pick out what you want in your box and they pack and ship it.  You just make a donation to cover the items and the shipping and you’re done.

If you can’t handle the cost of the box, you can help “adopt” a box that was built but no one provided the $7 for shipping.

Anything you can do to help get more boxes sent is awesome!!

Watching children receive these boxes in Haiti earlier this year, I was amazed that many of them had no idea what a present was.  They rejoiced at some of the simplest items in their boxes.  I met a girl from Romania that received a box when she was 12 (she’s now in her early 20’s) and her favorite thing was getting her own tube of toothpaste.  She lived in a orphanage and had to share any hygiene items they had, most of them only got to bathe and brush teeth once a week.  Seeing all of this first hand, I wish I could pack thousands of boxes.  (There is actually an amazing man outside of Macon GA that packed over 22,000 last year!)

To encourage you to pack, how about a little Christmas Giveaway.  For each entry I will also donate 50¢ towards adopting unpaid shipping on boxes.
