paper trees 009

One of the easiest Christmas crafts I’ve ever done are paperback book trees.  I don’t have any pictures of the one I made, but I’ll tell you how I made it and show you someone else who successfully made it.

Supplies:

Paperback Novel (can get them for pennies at thrift store)
Craft Knife/Scissors
Marker
Hot Glue

Directions:

Grab a paperback book that you never care to read again.

Draw 1/2 of a Christmas tree on the front cover.

Cut all of the pages and both covers into the shape of the 1/2 Christmas tree.  I started out using a craft knife, but switched to scissors to cut more quickly.

Put a few dots of hot glue on the cover of the book and bring the back cover around to meet it so it makes a whole tree.

If you want to be able to store it more easily for years to come, skip the hot glue an keep the covers together with a paper clip.
