Did you catch our $65/Week Budget Meal Plan a few weeks ago? Maybe you thought that sounded great, but you’ve decided to try the keto diet and feel like it’s much more expensive. Well, today I’ve got a budget keto meal plan that will only cost $75/week for a family of 4!

This meal plan assumes a family of 4 with two adults and 2 children. You may find that, depending on your kids’ appetites, you end up with considerable leftovers at dinner. I’ve planned the final lunch to be a leftovers lunch, but if this seems like too much food, you might be able to skip the final dinner and eat leftovers then, too! You’ll notice that there’s not much variety in breakfast or lunch. The trick to sticking with keto is to keep it simple and easy, and sometimes that means eating the same thing for a few days in a row.

As with all of the prices we list at Southern Savers, they are going to vary geographically and by store. In order to come up with this cheap meal plan, I tried to use a reasonable price based on our buy price list as well as the item search to see how cheaply we could get that particular item right now. In cases where an item did not appear on either of those lists, I used our local Walmart price.

The cost per week is based on buying ingredients that you don’t have on hand. Here’s a printable you can use to make sure you have your pantry and fridge stocked with essentials that you’ll need for this week’s meal plan: Budget Keto Meal Plan Pantry List. If you do end up having to buy some of these items, it will increase your weekly price, but thankfully, those kind of ingredients last a long time!

(Note: One of the pantry items is keto-friendly granulated sweetener. If you are already doing keto, you probably already have some of this. If you’re just starting out, then it is probably worth it to buy some erythritol, one of the most popular keto sweeteners. It is not inexpensive, but you can use it to make lots of delicious keto sweets. This brand  is the best price I’ve found!)
