We enjoy coloring eggs together. We also get together with a wonderful family and have a huge egg hunt for the children. It is a great time of food and fellowship.
We hide the Easter baskets and have an Easter egg hunt every year that leads them to their baskets. The only obstacle is making sure the dogs don’t find the candy filled eggs first!
Easter was always about Church growing up, and we’re starting the same with our daughter. It starts on Holy Thursday, when we remember the Last Supper, the importance of Jesus’ washing the feet of the Apostles, and the First “Communion”. On Good Friday we remember His death by hearing the Passion in the Gospels, and walking the “Stations of the Cross”. Then Sunday is JOY JOY JOY. Singing joyful songs at Church, then being with family, hunting for eggs, and eating a huge meal (all things should begin and end with food….LOL). My mom always makes rice pudding. I don’t know how that relates to Easter, but it is SOOOOO good!
We started a new tradition last year of making the marshmellows wrapped in crescent rolls, once baked the marshmallows disappear like Christ was not in the tomb! He loved doing it last year! We will be doing a new twist on an old tradition starting this year. We will be dying our Easter eggs with all natural ingredients, since he is intolerant of food dyes… Really excited to try it and see how it comes out!
My favorite tradition is hiding Easter baskets around the house, just like my parents used to do for us. I would especially love to win this book, as my mom (my girls’ grandma) is very sick and I’d love for her to record a book as a memory for my girls.
My favorite memory of Easter was my whole family on my Moms side going camping together. We would have my aunts and uncles and all of my cousins together. Our parents would put our Easter baskets right outside our respective tents and when all the kids woke up, we would see our baskets that the Easter Bunny filled for us. We ate a huge breakfast consisting of eggs, french toast and home fries all prepared on cast iron skillets. After breakfast we would go to the lake to swim and relax. My cousins and Aunts and uncles live in other states now, but every Easter we still come together to continue our camping tradition.
We take a family picture. We hunt Easter eggs a lot. The kids love hunting the eggs.
We love going to church, enjoying a great family meal, and looking at our Easter Baskets. My dad still fills Easter baskets for all 4 of us adult kids!
One of my favorite traditions is dressing my girls up in new Easter dresses to go to our morning Easter celebration service at church.
Our Easter tradition is to put a cross in the front yard every year the month before Easter. The children are in charge of changing the color of cloth when it is time. Each Easter Sunday, we dress the cross in white and take a picture of the kids dressed up before church next to the cross. I cherish this tradition…

my parents always put doughnut holes in some of the eggs that we'd hunt around the house. we still do it as adults :-) we're starting the Resurrection Eggs tradition with our daughter this year.
A favorite Easter tradition we have is to make 'blown' art eggs. Use a needle to puncture a real egg on both ends and then blow out the insides. Allow to drain and dry and then paint, glitter, and glue. You can use a large needle to string ribbon through so that they can hang. So pretty.
although my kids are getting older they still look forward to eating at their grandparents with aunts,uncles,and lots of cousins. Then we have a big egg hunt with a very special “golden” egg.

We spend every Easter afternoon doing an egg hunt with our best friends and their children. There is a golden egg with $1 in it for each child and they love trying to find their golden egg!
We have always loved hiding/finding Easter Eggs, and with my kids once the first Easter Egg Hunt starts, we almost have daily Easter Egg Hunts at our house, indoors are even fun! Then we all head to church on Easter, have breakfast and an Egg Hunt, then celebrate Easter with family and friends.
We enjoy a local beeping Easter egg hunt! My son is blind and loves his Night Before Christmas Hallmark book from his Grandma. She recorded each page, and he listens to it at least a few times every week. We would love an Easter one for her to record for him when she visits us for Easter!
As my daughters are now 12 and 18, the traditional egg hunt at my parents' house has been suspended for a couple of years and I really miss it. Now, though, my older daughter just had a beautiful baby boy and I can't wait to start the traditions all over again.
Being able to give my new grandson a book with my voice reading the story to him – that would be so wonderful!
My family attends Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter Saturday services together every year. In my opinion, it is the most beautiful time in the church and a strong reminder of the reason of the season.

Our Tradition for Easter is pretty simple. In the morning I make Homemade French Toast with an old recipe I have from family using real French Bread! I do this while the kids dismantle the Easter Baskets. We head to Church and then home again for Easter Dinner and Hunt. Eggs everywhere, scavenger hunt and dinner with baked Ham! YUMM, now I am stoked and hungry :)
My favorite Easter tradition has changed now that I'm married & have a family of my own. When I was younger, I loved getting up for the Easter sunrise service at church & the smell of all the Easter lilies that filled the church. Now that I'm married & have a son, I love our family Easter egg hunt after church. The children have so much fun! I love this giveaway!!
Every Easter my mom would make us Easter baskets that were as good as Christmas day stockings, full of goodies! She would always find us a really nice stuffed animals for every Easter. I'm talking about the nice, soft, good quality, keep them for ever stuffed animals. That was my favorite part. I have 2 kids now and am starting the tradition with them this year! I have a Pottery Barn bunny for my daughter and a golden retriever for my son. Beginning our Easter tradition. :)
While this holiday is very special because of what it represents (Christ's death, burial, and resurrection!), these are things that I celebrate every day of the year. This year for Easter, my church is having a huge outreach event. I am excited to invite unsaved friends and family to this service as well as spending time praising my Savior!
As I've gotten older just having lunch with my daughter and her husband is all that I need to have a Happy Easter.
When I was little we always had a Easter Egg Hunt at my church. Everyone would dress up and cook out. It was so much fun! I miss being young.

Easter is a time when we invite family over. The day is all about being with our family and remembering the burial and RESURRECTION of Christ.
Too much ham is eaten, too many chocolate eggs are consumed, but it's all done with all the people I love. My children are about to start their own traditions, so I look back and think about all the fun we had when they were all mine!
One of my families traditions is to make Italian braided Easter bread with the colored eggs in between the braids. I remember this as a kid and I am following tradition by doing this with my children in hopes that this will be carried on from generation to generation. I remember coloring the eggs and getting the dough made, waiting for it to rise 2xs and then braiding it with my dad, getting it ready to put in the oven. I love doing this with my kids every year. My kids get to have an Easter egg hunt with all their cousins that live nearby. And we have dinner as a family.
Now that my husband and I are proud parents, we will be starting our own traditions. We plan on spending time as a family, starting with a visit from the Easter Bunny and throughout the day doing activities and reading books that will reinforce the real reason why we celebrate – Jesus!
Every year everyone comes home to go to my Grandmothers house for the easter egg hunt. We have a grown up hunt and a kid hunt. There is a silver and a golden egg for each group! So much fun and a cherished memory for me. Especailly now that I am an adult and can go for the $50 golden egg! And hopefully my 2 year old will get the $5 golden egg as well (hey when your little $5 seems like $50)

After our huge Easter dinner with all the trimmings, The adults “disappear “' outside to hide egg for the little ones.As each grandchild reaches the age of not hunting anymore they delight in helping hide eggs for the up coming ones.Lots of fun and prizes for the most, the least, and even a money egg! It's been a tradition for 10 years now and one I hope my children will carry on to their grandchildren.

All the grandkids come to my house the Saturday before Easter & we dye eggs together, then on Easter Sunday we have a family dinner & hunt easter eggs, I also make jello eggs for the kids for easter.

We have a huge family cookout with my grandmother's cooking and an easter egg hunt for the children. Then, we read the children's version of the Easter story and try hard not to fall asleep after the festivites are over (and our bellies are full!).
I would love to win this! My father-in-law and mother-in-law did the Night before Christmas for my oldest and would love one for my youngest. My favorite tradition for Easter is something from when I was a kid, but my kids are not old enough for yet…..my brother and I would find all the hidden colored eggs when we woke up, and continue to hide and find them allllllll day long! We took turns, and this went on until my Mother forced us to finally get dressed up because we had to leave for dinner. My kids are only 6 and 3, so un-found eggs would not be a nice smell….but I let them do it with plastic ones for now =)
Church on Easter is so refreshing. He is risen! I love early sunrise services and a big breakfast after!

We are actually starting new tradition this year now that all of us kids have kids. Together we have 6 boys all under age 5! My parents are doing dinner and an easter egg hunt for the boys and we are all very excited!
We would all go to my grandparents house and all of us kids would sit in the living room while the adults went out and hide eggs all over the ACRES of land my grandparents owned. It took us forever but I'll never forget all the fun we had finding them!
Our neighbor has a huge Easter egg hunt where we hide hundreds of eggs in a field and kids of all ages come from the whole area to participate. They are a special couple with big hearts and have been dear to me my entire life. Their egg hunt tradition is carrying through to the third generation…so far!
When I was growing up, our church had a sunrise service. It was exciting to wake up early in the morning and go to church. Then we all ate breakfast at church afterwards!

Easter is one of our favorite family times! We love to color eggs a few days before. We talk about the colors and all the changes. We talk about how God changes us, too. We love to get up early on Easter morning… let our son enjoy the excitement of the day and have a nice breakfast together. We all have fun watching him find his Easter basket and talk about our love for Jesus and all the blessings we have in our life. We also make sure we take a family picture of the three of us in our front yard before we head to Easter service. This year, they're doing an Easter program that we're all very excited about. :) The Hallmark recordable books ARE great! As a child my favorite tradition was we didnt hide easter eggs, my mom hid the easter baskets. We ran around the house looking for them. The best year was when she hung the basket on a coat rack and it fell to the ground, jelly beans every where!
We “hide” Easter eggs outside and let our daughter look for them. She loves seeing whats inside!

The whole family gets get together on the night before Easter. We always eat a big meal together. Afterwards, we clear the table and let the kids dye and decorate eggs. We tell the Easter story and then tell the kids about the Easter bunny. Early Easter morning, we hide all the eggs and put out the Easter bunny surprises. The kids wake up and go on a awesome early morning easter egg hunt and get all the goodies the Easter bunny left. Afterwards, we get dressed and head to church to celebrate the True meaning of the Season. “He Lives!” Happy Easter Everyone!
Easter morning is our immediate family and we always have baskets and egg hunts for the hidden eggs. We also honor my husbands family tradition of placing your show out the night before so the bunny can put an egg in it when he hides the eggs. Then of course we have the family gather with the extended family and another egg hunt at Grandma's and Grandpa's house and their eggs have change in them! And if you find the gold egg – that one has paper money! A wonderful day filled with love and happiness for all. But of course we must remember the true reason for Easter- Jesus!
I am the youngest in my family. And when I got too old to hunt Easter eggs, there weren't any babies around yet to do the hunting. So we recruited all the grandparents and other family friends who were 60-70+ years of age to do the hunting! It really was so much fun. One lady, a good friend from our church, said she had never hunted Easter eggs before and it was such a blast to see them out there running around for eggs! We did this for a few years, until my cousins had children old enough to hunt.
Church of course! But I can never get away without hiding eggs for the kids to hunt!

My favorite Easter tradition is getting together with my niece and nephew. We have a special night where my mom makes a big dinner and then we dye hard boiled eggs. We use the wax crayon to write messages or names on all the eggs and put them in the Easter baskets. It is so fun and my nephew LOVES to eat his hard boiled egg right away :)
After having children and so little family in the area we try to still keep the same traditions we had as a child. We do the Egg Hunt and basket hunt, then brunch.
We make homemade waffles and eggs for breakfast. We usually have an easter egg hunt with our youngest but she informed us that she is too old for this tradition. She wanted to stop last year but didn't want to hurt our feelings.

My family is young and we are starting our own traditions. Our son is 19mos old and we have another precious boy on the way. I would like to start the tradition this year of going over what Easter is all about, the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Going to church and visiting with family is always going to be part of our tradition as well.
My favorite Easter tradition is dyeing eggs; it has been since I was a child.
One of the things I do every year is color eggs with my kids the day before Easter and then have lunch on Easter at my parents house. When the children were little we would hide eggs for them. Easter has always been my favorite holiday because my birthday would sometimes fall on it (April 3). I always thought it was neat celebrating Easter and my birthday together.

When we were kids my grandfather would spend hours hiding Easter eggs. He would always come up with creative ways to hide them including digging up the grass. We would continue to find eggs in the summer :)
We live in Winston Salem NC so we go to Old Salem (Moravian Settlement) for the Sunrise Service. Our children enjoy listening to the Brass Band that plays as we walk through the cobblestone streets following the crowd to God's Acre. There we watch the sun rise and marvel over the gift of the risen Christ. We stop for a bakery treat on our way home and arrive in time to look for easter eggs in the backyard. The it might be naptime.
Every year, in addition to having a traditional egg hunt, we also hide all prize eggs indoors. As soon as our daughter wakes up, she gets to find treasures all over the house. So much fun!

For years… I have always decorated eggs for Easter and every Easter, my mom would make us our Easter baskets with eggs we decorated. (I have continued this tradition with my children now) Then, we would go to my grandmas house and she would always have an Easter Basket Treasure Hunt for us! She would hide clues inside of plastic eggs and each clue would be another clue to get closer to the Easter Basket!! We REALLY looked forward to this…
We have always participated in a family Easter egg hunt (even though we are now in our late twenties). My favorite memory of this was when my little sister didn't yet understand the concept of an Easter egg hunt and went around the yard picking up trash to put in her basket. :)
Our Easter baskets growing up weren't just filled with candy. We got clothes, books and all sorts of fun stuff! I'm now enjoying finding fun things for my little boy's basket. These would be great additions! I also bought the Veggie Tales Easter Carol for my son and we've started watching it every year so that he will know the true reason for Easter.
My favorite Easter tradition is the Easter Pictures we take of all the kids and families outside under the dogwoods at my Mama's and at my Grandparent's before that. It's wonderful to have a year to year picture of our family!
We are going to church for Easter.
Every year we put out empty Easter baskets for the bunny to fill (kind of like stockings for Santa). When the Easter bunny comes, he hides eggs all around the living room. My son usually has them gathered up in a neat little pile by the time my husband and I get up!
Of course we also color boiled eggs and make deviled eggs after Easter is over.
As a kid, the Easter Bunny would always hide eggs in our family room and my brother and I had to find them all before we could open the things in our Easter baskets!

As a kid all of the grandkids always had a huge easter egg hunt with eggs with dimes, and quarters in it. Whoever found the egg with the dollar bill had bragging rights until the next year.
We hide the eggs over and over again for the kids they enjoy it so much it gives everyone a chance to have the most.
Ever since I was a little girl we would all gather at my Nanny and Grandaddy's house and hold an Easter dinner and egg hunt. My grandparents have six children so most of their grandchildren are all within a few years of age. Now that all the grandkids are grown we bring our kids and even most of our spouses families over to continue the tradition. We have a big meal and then my mom and aunts/uncles entertain the little ones while my cousins and my self go out and hide over a hundred eggs for them to hide, after we have done this one of my Uncle's goes out by himself and finds two of the eggs and puts money in them. (We have two sections of the yard one for the babies and one for the older kids.) After the kids have hunted we let them pick out prizes and take pictures. Then the older kids hide the eggs for the adults to find.
My son is 1 so we are going to be creating new easter traditions this year. I can't wait!

When I was a kid, we always participated in Leadership Training for Christ over Easter weekend, then spent Easter day hunting eggs with family friends. Now that I have kids, we can't wait for them to be old enough to spend Easter weekend participating in Lads to Leaders and learning to be active Christians.

As a kid my favorite tradition was our family Easter egg hunt!! Cardbury and Reeses eggs!!!!!!! We did this every year- even after we were in college. My parents worked really hard to make some IMPOSSIBLE to find- so they would get some too!!
We make resurrection rolls and recall the Easter story as we make and eat them. A marshmallow represents Jesus, who was anointed with oil and spices (represented by melted butter, and cinnamon and sugar which we roll the marshmallow in). We then wrap the marshmallow in burial clothes (a cressent roll), and place in the tomb (oven). When the rolls are done, and taken out of the “tomb”, “Jesus” is no longer there! Not only are the rolls delicious, it is an activity the entire family, including guests, can participate in and remember and be thankful for the real reason we celebrate Easter.
Every year my family head to church for Easter sunrise service outside. Then after church we go to my Aunt's house for a big family lunch where she cooks a big ham and a ton of sides and 3 or 4 desserts. After everyone has semi recovered from lunch we have a easter egg hunt. I can remember when I was little and after the egg hunt was over with we would climb up on top of the hay in the barn and count how many eggs each one of us got and trade what we didn't want.
We dye easter eggs every year in fun patterns!! I've made my husband do that since way before kiddos, and we continue it now. We plan on incorporating the story of the Resurrection into their baskets – either with a book/DVD. Can't wait for new traditions!!

I remember coloring eggs and hiding them all over the house. One year we lost count and forgot a hidden egg…needless to say Mother found it later. It was so funny to us kids. Such fun memories!

Every year my family goes to the early service at church, then out for breakfast. Then everyone goes to my grandparents house for an easter egg hunt for the kids, and later we cook out for a late lunch early dinner. Just being with family and remember the reason for Easter-Jesus dying on the cross then rising 3 days later!
Growing up we always got new church clothes for Easter. Then my three brothers and I would line up before church to get our picture taken. Often-time my grandmother would make a matching dress for Mom and me and the boys would all having matching clothes. 20 some years later I suppose we don't keep the tradition, but I'm sure all of us will do something similar with our own children.

We have many traditions but I would have to say the kids' favorite is hanging the colorful eggs from the tree in the front yard. It just looks so festive!

My grandfather is a preacher, and we always go to his church and listen to his Easter sermon and then go back to my grandparents house for a big meal with my entire family, and then an Easter egg hunt afterwards. We all have our own children now, so we get to see them do the Egg hunt. My little family also starts off at the Sunrise service and breakfast at our church and then drive down to my grandparents. Recently they found cancer in my grandfather, and most likely this will be the last Easter I have with him. It will be more special than anyone before.
My favorite Easter family tradition is our family's Easter Egg candy and mony hunt! As kids there was always candy in some eggs and money in others. Not a ton of money, but anywhere from pennies up to a $5 bill! Now that we are adults, we still have it including the new grandchildren and spouses added to the family over time. Now the prize egg has $10 in it and it's hilarious to see my 42 and 41 year old brother and sister knock each other over to grab eggs :)

My favorite Easter tradition is getting dressed up in our Easter Sunday dresses (suit for my husband) and taking a family picture in the front yard before heading to church for the sunrise service! Oh, and we can't forget about the annual family Easter egg hunt!
On Easter we dress up nice, take flowers to church, and put them on a huge wooden cross in front of the church. After the services, families line up to snap family pictures in front of the flowers.
Dying eggs, hunting them in the morning, and joining the kids in gobbling up candy for breakfast!!!!

We also plant flowers and spend some time starting our garden… it”s a great time to see growth and opportunity!

the cousins on the my mil's side of the family always do a game on Easter that is egg-related even though they're all grown and beyond “the hunt.” for example, one year, they hid eggs, divided up into teams of two, blindfolded one member of each team, and their teammate had to coach them verbally to find the eggs. great fun!

My mother always made an easter bunny cake. Now I make it with my kids. Another tradition I have with my family now is we go to the Easter sunrise service at the lake. I look forward to it each year!
We have a huge egg hunt where all the eggs are numbered. After the hunt, we line the kids up and they get to pick prizes in order. It's a bit chaotic, but the kids love it, and it keeps us all young, too!!! Afterward, all the family has a wiffle ball game in the back yard. There's nothing like a look on your kids' faces when they see the adults play, too. Although we all pay for it about a week afterward.
As a family, on Fridays, we will get something quick to eat and watch a movie. As the kids get older, that is getting harder to do, as they sometimes have plans.
Our favorite Easter tradition is to include Resurrection eggs in our Easter egg hunt. Each child gets to find a certain number of eggs and stop to let the others have a chance. Then we all gather around to tell the Easter story using the symbols that the children found in the Easter eggs.

We love to dye eggs!! We dye them with grandma, daddy, and then an aunt. Anyone we can find who wants to dye eggs, we are ready! Then we enjoy the multi-colored deviled eggs the day after.

When I was a child, my mom and dad had a set of “special” Easter eggs…. they told the story of Jesus. From his birth (a small egg with a small blanket and a tuft of hay) to his death (a small crown of thorns and a purple patch of cloth). The last egg to open was a large white egg… it was EMPTY!!! Just like the tomb! My brother, sister and I still remember opening those eggs and hearing the story. And I can't wait to start that tradition with my daughter this year! So she'll know the true meaning of Easter!

I am one of 3 girls and one boy. Because we are a big family we could not afford fancy baskets so we would make Easter baskets out of shoe boxes. It was so much fun, we would color and decorate the boxes and they would look awesome. We would line them up on top of the stereo and during the night my dad would fill them up with candy. It brings back good memories.

When I think of Easter traditions, I always think of my MIL giving her boys and now her grandkids Easter undies. The boys always got boxer shorts in their Easter baskets and 2 years ago my son received his first Easter undies in his basket from grandma. :)

I grew up in a military family. On easter monring my mom would dress us up in our Easter best and we would go the catholic church on base. We would do an easter egg hunt at the church and then go home to a lunch of dyed easter egg salad from eggs we dyed the night before.
If anyone has parents who lives far away from them i would highly recommend the recordable books. We currently live far away from my parents (i followed my mom's foot steps and married a military man) and my mom bought my son the Christmas book and he absolutely loves it. He gets to hear Nana's voice when ever he wants!

My in-laws always have an egg hunt. You hunt 4 times and the person with the biggest total at the end wins. There are also special prize eggs. My father in law gives out the prizes $3 for the winner, $2 for the runner up and toilet paper for the loser to “wipe because you're done” Luckily, I've never 'won' the toilet paper.
My parents would set up a bowl with clean water, and inside the water they placed one red egg, one yellow egg, and some coins. On Easter morning we would come and splash some water on our cheecks, for cleanliness, then we would touch the red and yellow eggs, and one coin to our cheeks, for health, beauty, and wealth. The catch was that the last person to do this would get to keep the change – and my brother and I were inviting each other to go first, every year!

My husband and I started our own Easter tradition after our mothers passed away. We sing in our church's choir for each of the three (3) Easter services, then spend time together (a rare and precious thing lately!). This year, we'll be welcoming our first grandchild (we're in Georgia, he'll be in Texas) and we look forward to coming up with a new Easter tradition that will incorporate our new grandson!

My favorite tradition is a new one: one that my husband & I decided was most fitting now. We have a recipe for a cookie that has all kinds of symbolism in the making and the baking of the cookie. My husband and I both love the Lord and come from Christian families, but neither of us have ever had a specific family tradition. This year is our daughter's first Easter, and her birth has caused us to look at things differently. We really want to begin our own traditions that she (and all of our future children) will cherish, carrying them with them down to their children and grandchildren. A few days before Easter, she is going to help (well, maybe just watch :-)…) color Easter eggs to decorate our home for the big celebration! We plan to fast on Saturday to remember the sacrifice that Christ made for us. Then, we are having a big Easter dinner here at our home, with both our families – surrounded by all the people we love most. I can't wait to celebrate Easter with our first daughter – and our new “traditions.”

Our family uses the “Resurrection Eggs” throughout the week before Easter Sunday to tell our son about the true meaning of Easter. Then on “Easter Eve” our family reads 2 books before we go to bed: The Story of Easter by Patricia A. Pingry and THe Best Thing About Easter by Christine Harder Tangvald. We talk to our son about the real meaning of Easter and how Jesus died for us but now He is alive and waiting to come get us and take us to heaven. Then, before church on Easter Sunday, we use the final egg to tell him about the Empty Tomb. In the afternoon, we have an Egg Hunt and a big lunch to celebrate Easter.
We get up on Easter morning and check out what the Easter bunny has brought for us and then we get ready and head to church!
Now that I am an adult and have a child of my own I would love to recreate a family tradition. When I was a little girl, we always ate with my moma's mother, Grams. My mother had only one sibling, a sister named Sheri. They were so close! Sheri vowed to always have Easter dinner at Grams' house. They always planned a special egg hunt for us kids. It was so much fun. My Aunt Sheri passed away while I was still young, and Easter was always hard b/c it was the one occasion we HAD to spend together. It was never the same after she was gone. I love spending time with my Grams and taking my son Noah to see her. I think this year we are going to do Easter at her house again, for the first time after alllllll these years. I would love to have her record her voice in a book for my little boy! :)

We have a Easter book that tells the story of Jesus and Easter. My two daughters and I read it together and enjoy the day together.
Our family tradtion is to dye eggs together. Even the adults!! We draw on the boiled eggs with a white crayon and then when you drop them in the water the dye will not adhere to whatever you have drawn!
My husband, daughter, son, and I go to a family friends house were the “adults” hid the eggs and all the “children” (even though most of us are in our late 20s) find them. They are all filled with money!! Which is nice; however, we have to take the “adults” out to an Easter Lunch and the leftover money we get to keep!! We have been doing this for 6 years now and it is fun running around finding the eggs!! It gets pretty intense with all of us fighting over the eggs!! But I love and look forward to doing this every year!! Plus we have two new additions that are coming this year and find eggs!!

My favorite part of Easter has to be the Easter egg hunt that my family does where the kids hide the eggs for the adults to find. It is always soo much fun!!!
My husband's family is Mexican, so we celebrate twice! There are subtle differences, beginning with the Easter meal – we have ham, potato salad, macaroni and cheese pie, deviled eggs, and yeast rolls with my American family. We go to church, then hide Easter eggs. After resting at our own house for a short while, we head over to Abuelo's casa (my mother and father in law's house) to repeat. Some of our daughter's Tias will decorate the weeping willow tree with spring decorations and the grandchildren will run and play and hide eggs, blow bubbles, play with side walk chalk, etc… while the adults prepare authentic enchiladas…which taste NOTHING like food you get at a Mexican restaurant here! This kind of day wears us out – but we wouldn't trade it for the world! Wow – full of love!!! :)

i guess our family tradition (not yearly just when need fit to do so) we usually give to others. i remember when me and my brother we little we were so excited about getting the easter basket the next morning. Well a lady's car broke down outside our house and they had two little kids, so the next morning my mom and grandma sat us down and told us what they did and we were okay with that. so from then on we kinda started giving for easter :)
My parents have all 3 of their kids and spouses as well as all 7 grandchildren and 1 great grand child over for lunch then a huge Easter egg hunt. My Dad always wants to hide the eggs. One year he had us looking for hours for the prize egg. It ended up being in his pants pocket. Now we all make him empty out his pockets before the egg hunt begins.
After church, we gather at my husband's parent's home and have a huge dinner. Once we've eaten, the children hunt eggs while my father-in-law and my husband make our first batch of home-made ice cream for the year!!! When we've finished the ice cream, the kids HIDE the eggs for the adults to find!

The tradition was derived from my great great Grandmother, but was told to me it was originally from an ancient Anglo-Saxons who baked small wheat cakes in honor of the springtime goddess, Eostre. After converting to Christianity, the church substituted the cakes with sweetbreads blessed by the church. We prepare them the night before and bake them first thing in the morning before church services. Yum!
Each year I take the kids to Michael's to personalize/decorate a bucket to use for Easter egg hunts. The day before Easter we dye eggs and we had them during the night and the kids can find them in the morning.

Our favorite tradition is the Easter Egg Hunt at my father's home. It takes at least 30 minutes to hide the eggs and 5 minutes for the kid's to find them! Although we are still sadly rejoicing at my father's homegoing last year, we are continuing this tradition in his memory.

One Easter I came across a dress at my parents house and learned it was the dress my grandmother wore to their wedding. I tried it on and it fit so I wore it to Easter Sunday dinner at my grandparents house in TN which was a yearly tradition. It took my grandmother a few minutes but once she recognized the dress I was wearing, she was tickled. We took a picture together which I still have. She has since passed but I still had the picture and wonderful memeories.
We hide eggs with our daughter before the day, but on Easter day we go to church like every Sunday to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord. Usually a nice meal with friends will follow since we do not have family close. So the storybooks from grandmas or grandpas would be awesome!

My favorite tradition, which I am passing on to my children too, would be the Egg Cracking game! Everyone in the family gets a hard boiled dyed egg, and we pair up and knock eggs together! If your egg cracks, you're out! And the winner goes on to challenge another winner! And once your egg cracks, we normally turn it around to challenge someone else until our egg is completely demolished! And gotta love Easter Egg Hunts and finding that GOLDEN egg with a dollar in it!

I have a tradition to go to sunrise service with my mom every year – sometimes it's on the beach! My family and I have a tradition of going to my husband's aunt's horse farm for Easter with his extended family. It's so fun to catch up with everyone and see how much the kids have grown over the year.
Our easter tradition is making sugar cookies and letting the kids decorate them. We have 4 girls, the youngest are my 3yr old twins and the oldest is 12.

because of our Saviour who not only died so that we could experience forgiveness, but rose again to give us His Life. I love the festive breakfast we have early Sunday morning….we arise early enough to not have to hurry to church, and have time to reflect on all that it means to be followers of Christ. We try to have the egg hunt for the grandchildren on Saturday, and that is always special too……I love springtime, and Easter together with springtime, drives home the idea of our new life!!!

When I was a child, every Easter my family and I would go to my grandparents house to eat and hunt for Easter eggs. My grandparents passed away a few years ago and left their home to my husband and I. Our son turned two in February and we look forward to recreating the same Easter egg hunt my grandparents did for me when I was little, in the same backyard. :)
One of our family's Easter tradition is hunting eggs with monopoly money inside. We all count our money and use it during the auction my parents create. They usually auction off used things that they have or may have picked up at a yard sale. The catch to the auction is that you have no idea what your bidding on because it is cover by a sheet. Some eggs have a “free peek” paper in them instead of money. This allows you to look at whats up for bid before you do any bidding. My whole family comes to my parents house to eat and play “The Auction”. We even make a little “Senior Citizen” spot for my two grandmothers to hunt eggs. The funnest part of the whole day is just being together and laughing!

My grandfather passed away in November. That has caused my family to want to go back to the traditional holiday gatherings. Easter will be a wonderful family gathering of 20-30 people at my grandmother's. An egg hunt for the little ones. Finally, a huge spread on the dinner table. Just the way it used to be. I love it!

My Mom always had an Easter tree. It was just a large branch from a tree she propped up in the corner. We used egg shells to decorate it. We had to poke two holes in the eggs (top and bottom) and then blow out the egg. We then decorated the eggs very carefully and put a string in the top to hang on the tree. If the eggs survived they lasted another year, but it was fun to make new ones each year!

We would put our dyed eggs in our baskets the night before Easter. When we woke up in the morning our baskets would be gone. The Easter Bunny had taken all of our baskets and hidden them somewhere in the house. We would spend about an hour searching for our baskets, but we loved it!!!
We head to church, meet extended family for big family dinner and then the teens hide eggs for the elementary kids. When they find theirs the elementary kids hide for the preschoolers. It's a lot of fun

First I wouldlike to say for my family, Easter is the most important Holiday/Time of the year. Christmas is when we celebrate the birth of Jesus but Easter when celebrate that he died for our sins and that he rose from the dead. How simply AWESOME, to be so loving and forgiving. It is just a wonderful thing to share with my children. We have many traditions and special things we do but the one the kids love after coloring their eggs is racing with their egg on a spoon around obstacle courses. Every once in awhile we will set someone up with a raw egg and not a hard boiled egg! :)

One of my favorite Easter traditions is the Cross that we decorate outside our church on Easter Sunday. Each family brings flowers to contribute, and it's a beautiful display of what the day is really about.
Ah! I love Easter. We always got a new dress for Church, loved picking out a fancy dress as a child. Easter morning we would get our baskets that had a little candy, but more importantly— a new bathing suit (Florida). Then it was church and lunch at my Grandmother's followed by an egg hunt. I continute to carry-on the tradition with my 3 year old :)
We don't have any real “traditions” – but I guess our tradition is to find a new or creative way to celebrate together as a family – attending the Passion Play or a walk-through of the Passion events, etc. Just finding a way to remember Christ's gift of salvation!

My favorite Easter tradition is spending Saturday before Easter with family and friends. We have lots of food and an Easter Egg hunt for the little ones at my Nanny's house, we do this every year and my have times changed so many of us who used to hunt egss now have kids of our own hunting them. Then on Sunday morning (Easter Day) we celebrate the greatest gift of all Jesus Christ, our whole family attends church and we spend the rest of the day relaxing.
Every year my family gets together 1 or 2 nights before Easter and we let our kids (9 altogether) dye Easter Eggs that we then hide for them for after Easter dinner. It is great to get together not only once but twice in the weekend. On Easter we attend church and then go to my MIL house for a big dinner. We are truly blessed.

Coloring eggs and then eating them.
This will be my first Easter separated from my family. Usually we all get nice, new Easter outfits and have an Easter egg hunt before church. We take family pictures on an old bench or underneath a pretty, blooming tree… I would love to win this book. My husband will be deploying in a couple of months, and we want to record his voice so that our three year old son and two week old daughter can still hear their daddy read them a story before bed each night.
My family gets together and dyes Easter Eggs. My Mother always make the most delicious coconut cake! All the family loves it and it is extra special because she only makes it once a year!
When our girls were little, the Easter Bunny left a trail of jelly beans from their pillow, down the stairs, to whatever fun place he put their baskets. The real eggs they had put in them the night before were hidden around the house and replaced with candy and prizes, Now I dye real eggs with the granddaughters and usually make Easter cookies with them.
We like to have a special treat for breakfast and check out the Easter baskets, all the children get one, even the “grown-up” ones! The grandchildren enjoy hunting for eggs in the yard and later in the house, too.
My parents come down since I moved from MI to VA. We love to have Easter Egg hunts in the backyard, my dad loves to put them around the yard in the morning and tells the kids that our backyard bunny, who lives under our deck, lays them for them. It's really cute!

All my Italian family will get together and have a big FEAST. We have 16 kids all together that just live in Fl. We do an Awesome Easter egg hunt. We put candy in some eggs, and $1.00, $5.00 in other egs and then we have the Golden Egg(which whoever finds that usually gets a $10.00 bill. So the kids def look forward to this Easter egg hunt. Then we proceed on to get everyone together for a family pictures that in years to come will have so many memories from it. Then the last thing we do is all sit down and say a pray and then we have a big Italian feast with the family. Its so nice to have such a great tradition.
It is a tie between the easter egg hunt in our yard and taking a picture of our little boys all dressed up in their Easter best!
My favorite Easter tradition is that my mom used to always make a huge bunny cake. We would always go to church on Sunday morning (as every Sunday), come home for a great meal including the bunny cake, and then go outside to hunt for easter eggs. My brother and I did this until we were out of high school. I have continued this tradition with my kids and plan to teach them how to make the bunny cake too.
Our kids are grown but we have two grandchildren and we have continued the tradition of the Easter Bunny hiding eggs overnight for the kids to find in the morning – if its cold or rainy there is a “trail” of eggs in the house and if it is nice outside – there is a trail leading to the door!
The easter egg hunt for all the kids! This year will be the first time for my new nephew. I love hiding them and standing back and watching the wonder on the younger ones faces as they discover their little treasure!
Despite being way past the appropriate age, my mom will never let us go without doing the Easter Egg Hunt…we once even had the eggs hidden in a car and hunted for them in a TGI Friday's parking lot! But my favorite odd tradition is how my whole family (parents, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, grandparents, cousins, and now nephews and nieces) goes bowling every Easter! It may be a weird place to be on an Easter Sunday but a little competition and bonding over shared goals has always made my Easter complete!

Growing up, we always went to Holy Thursday service at our church, Good Friday mass and then on Saturday morning we get up and color eggs. It was always a fun time seeing who could make the most colorful egg. On Saturday, we would get all dressed up and go to Easter Vigil mass as a family. I remember thinking when I was little that this was the longest mass ever. Now as an adult, and I fully understand and appreciate that mass. On Easter Sunday, my sisters and I would get up and run around the house finding all the “Easter Bunny droppings” that my dad had so graciously spread all around the house with eggs. It used to make us so sick because my dad would tease us and pick up the droppings and eat them. We would them see what the Easter Bunny brought us and then we would drive an hour and go to church with our grandparents. She went to a Methodist church and us girls love to visit there cause we got to go up front and sit on the alter while the preacher did a Childrens' sermon. Everyone would just love seeing us in our Easter dresses. We then would go to the farm at grandma and grandpa's and have a great meal as a family. All the men would go and lay down for nap time and all the ladies would clean up the dishes and then would go outside to investigate what flowers were coming up in Grandma's beautiful flower garden.
As an adult, I am a very sentimental person. My family and I live about 1000 miles away from the rest of my family. Even though I have lived out here for 9 years, it is still hard at holidays, because I am missing those traditions. however, I have started the same or similar traditions with my husband and children.
I love how you sent the Christmas book to your grandmother to record. We also got one this last year, and I have my parents reading the book to my children. They absolutley love it and truthfully, I treasure it more than they will ever know.
Confetti eggs! These are hallowed out eggshells filled with confetti that you hide along with the other eggs during the egg hunt. After the egg hunt, you crack the eggs over one another's heads. Sounds crazy but it's so much fun!

We teach our children (the grandchildren) the weeks leading up to Easter and then have a special celebration night on the week of Easter. Last year we talked about Exodus and the very first Passover and how it was a picture of Jesus, the Passover Lamb to come. On Easter, we go to church and have a big meal where we eat lamb in memory of what is being celebrated. We talk about Jesus and the life He gives. It's a rich holiday.
We would wake up while it was still dark outside Easter morning and drive to a scenic overlook on the Blueridge Parkway and have Sunrise Service with our church. Wonderful times!

We always spend Easter Sunday morning at church withthe family and then have lunch at my parents!
We get up and go to church(like every Sunday) then after church we have a HUGE Easter Egg Hunt with our neighbors and a big lunch…about 20 kids and 10-15 adults. It is a wonderful afternoon with friends/family.

Our favorite Easter family events are: (1) Attending our Jesus is Alive Sunrise Service at 6:00 AM with our church family and after the service eating breakfast together.
(2) After church going to pick up my 89-year old mother-in-law to bring her to our house to celebrate Easter with our family. (3) Having my children, granddaughter, and 89 year old mother-in-law over for a family Easter egg hunt and dinner is just fantastic. We have a great time. Everyone seems to really enjoy the Easter baskets I make for them every year. Happy Easter everyone! Jesus is Alive ….we have a risen Saviour.

We spend Easter at Grandma's house every year. My kids look forward to Easter more than Christmas, which is saying a lot nowadays. We dye eggs, make crafts, make spring themed candy,and hide plastic eggs with prizes in them. My 4yr old loves anything related to mickey mouse clubhouse -especially donald. The storybook would be awesome, my youngest is at that stage where she wants the same book read over and over and over again.

My house is “Grandma's house” that everyone comes to on Easter.We enjoy attending morning worship together then gathering for a big Sunday lunch of everyone's favorite home cooked fare. Each Easter I hide my kid's Easter baskets and have them spend the morning finding them with clues of hotter and colder. They love playing and it increases their excitment with every clue!
At my mom's house, once when I was 6, the easter bunny “got confused” in our house and “forgot” to come one year. my panicked mom put all the easter basket goodies in the bathroom and threw jelly beans on the floor to show the easter bunny “has tummy issues too” so even as an adult, when we go over there for Easter lunch, we can always find our small easter goodies hanging out in the bathroom.

We always go to Easter Sunday church services. Then we meet up with ALL of my extended family for a family reunion at Sesqui Park.
I absolutely loved the Easter Egg hunt. My dad would hide the eggs in 5 sections of our yard (one for each kid). We each got the same amount of eggs, though I don't know why it mattered since we'd put all of them in a big box and get to eat one a day (they were filled with mini candies).

Easter was always an exciting time of year. After church my grandmother would cook a big feast followed by an easter egg hunt with real eggs that we dyed earlier in the week.

Well since there are no more little children in my family…the adults have an Easter Egg Hunt. My Mom puts little pieces of paper with different things on them in the eggs, once we find all the eggs, we sit in a circle and 1 at a time, try to act out what is on the paper. The person who guesses the most gets a prize. Sure is a great day to celebrate Jesus!
The Easter bunny always hid our baskets full of goodies and the eggs that we colored the night before. After eating tons of candy we would get dressed in our brand new easter dresses and go to church. I love easter!

Two of my favorite Easter traditions are dyeing hard boiled eggs and using plastic eggs to decorate an easter egg tree in our yard. I also know a family who would celebrate “Easter Bunny Monday,” and the Easter baskets were delivered Monday morning, reserving Sunday as a day to remember the true meaning of Easter.

We live far away from family and are pregnant with our second child (our son died right after his birth) , so we have always had lunch with special friends and enjoyed Easter eggs hunts with their children. We very much look forward to using the resurrection eggs and beginning our own traditions. I would love to be able to have family use the books to record their voices to share with our little girl next year for Easter.
My favorite Easter tradition is the egg fight that we have with the colored, hard boiled eggs. It's fun & an easy tradition!
Every year we invite our best friends and their kids over and we cook a huge lunner/dinner and then we hide eggs and all the adults and kids have to find them by way of a treasure hunt. It's so much fun, everyone, including the adults, have lots of fun and it's a good way of making the kids think and figure out puzzles to get their prizes!
My mom always made us Easter baskets and left them beside our beds so we would see them as soon as we woke up on Easter day. She handmade the baskets herself, and filled them to the brim with candy and little toys. She even made sure we had Easter baskets in college… Now I have a baby boy of my own, and I'll make sure he has his own special Easter basket every year (even if mom and dad “have” to help eat the candy at first).
My Mom always made Easter baskets for everyone in the family. Now that she is gone, I try to make a basket for everyone and a person I know needs some encouragement in honor of my beautiful mother.
We do a flashlight Easter Egg hunt the night before. We hide the eggs in a designated area and then the kids get their flashlights out and hunt for the eggs.
When we were little and my gam was alive we would dye dozens of eggs all the cousins and shed polish them with spam to shine her hands would be dyed like an egg all multiple clots and shed have me hep hand was dishes in belch water to un dye our hands my mom would always get us new Easter dresses for Easter Sunday
our tradition is to go to the broadway market in buffalo, ny. it's the one place you can get everything polish for easter. the kids love it and it has so many good things to eat.
i love Easter Sunday at church. To see all new easter outfits and watch the children having fun looking for eggs put a smile on my face.

We always have Easter egg hunts for ALL ages in our family. We all line up from youngest to oldest and dash to find the eggs. It's amazing how fun it is to still find eggs…no matter how old we get! There's always a few “prize” eggs hidden too. We used to fill the eggs with candy, but now they each have numbers inside of them. You get to pick a prize for each egg (books, bubbles, games, and much more). It's SO fun!
I'm Jamaican so our tradition was to attend Good Friday midday service and then gather with friends and family to eat Bread & Fried Fish, and Bun & Cheese. Jamaican Easter bun is similar to a fruit cake. Now my family goes to service in the evening and we still have the traditional meals. Great time to gather as a family to remember (and celebrate) the best and biggest sacrifice of all – Jesus Christ

We started a new tradition last Easter. Our church participates in a program that works with a new ministry in my town. Churches sign up to host homeless families with children for one week in their church. My church was the first week of the program and we got our first families on Easter Sunday. What a blessing they were and a wonderful way to celebrate the Resurrection of our Savior. It was so much fun having Easter baskets for the kids as the families arrived that day. Most of the kids has either been staying in a car or on a floor somewhere. The look on their faces were priceless. We have the families once every 3 months and it is something my kids look forward to every time we stay at the church with them. I encourage anybody to find a way to serve others this Easter.
When we were kids. We used to roll Easter Eggs down our backyard with our noses. I never won, because as I would get close to the finish line someone would move my little sister in front of me. We would also do an Easter Egg hunt in our backyard.

In our family we always dye eggs together the night before Easter. We go to church on Sunday and while we are gone the Easter Bunny comes and leaves plastic eggs filled with candy all over our yard. Just too bad that every year dad has to direct traffic at church and doesnt get to ride in the car with me and the kids!!!! lol
Our church creates gorgeous, flower-covered crosses each Easter. Parishioners, like our family, gather flowers from their yards that morning and bring them to the church. We take turns covering two large wooden crosses with every color and type of flower you can imagine! It is breathtaking to see the crosses carried down the aisle to joyous strains of music, and it reminds us of the true meaning of this incredible day.
We love to read the never-fading truth of the Easter story and make homemade hot cross buns. :-)
We have pretty standard Easter traditions. We dye eggs and go on Easter egg hunts around town prior to Easter. On Easter day the kids get to see what kind of basket the Easter Bunny left them and then they hunt for the eggs the Easter Bunny left. Nothing outside of the ordinary, but it's a great time.
My son, husband and I make over 200 easter bunny rice crispy treats and choc. bunny lollipops every year and we give them to children in our neighborhood, school, church, local fire companies, etc. We try and give back to the community. We love doing this as a family! So much fun and it feels great that we put smiles on other kiddos and big kiddos faces! Easter is my favorite holiday of the year.

We go to Good Friday service on Friday evening, enjoy fellowship & egg hunt w/ our church family on Saturday at the church fellowship, and celebrate Resurrection Sunday at church…And singing “He Lives” is a must!
We like to focus on the resurrection of Jesus Christ during this time of year. We enjoy watching “Special Witnesses of Christ,” which is a collection of testimonies. I especially like Elder Jeffrey R. Holland and President Gordon B. Hinckley testimonies in this video, which can strengthen any person's testimony of Jesus Christ, regardless of their denomination. Easter is such a wonderful time and such an appropriate time to celebrate all things living!
Easter morning we enjoy going to a sunrise service. At home we hide the easter basket in the house. Sometimes this will include clues to follow that will include what easter is really about, Jesus.
We still get the kids' picture with the Easter Bunny and an on doing it until they are totally embarrassed by it:)
I am excited to start a new Easter tradition this year, as it will be our 1st Easter with our new son & his adoption will be finalized next week. Easter morning will start with a special breakfast made by my husband and then we will head outside for an Easter Egg Hunt. The eggs will include 'coupons' for special family time events like 1 hour of familytime sipping lemonade on the patio; a local sporting event of choice, choose your favorite dinner for mommy to make, a trip to the park, a family walk, a special day trip & you get to pick the destimation. I can't wait for the egg hunt ot grow into a huge special group of familytime fun!
When my husband was little the Easter Bunny brought baskets to him and his brother and a filled an Easter platter with candy for his parents. Now that they are older everyone just gets their favorite candy on a section of the platter!

My husband is Ukrainian, so we want to carry on our tradition to our daughter. We cook the night before and don't cook at all on Easter Sunday. Then we bless the food and eat early in the morning… It is a great tradition. Also making Ukrainian eggs with her.

My whole family goes to my grandmother's and we have a huge easter egg hunt. My grandparents had 7 kids so needless to say it is one gigantic family. This year will not be the same because my uncle just got diagnosed with pacreatic cancer and doesn't have long to live. I would love to have one of the recordable storybooks to give to them so they could record him for his granddaughter. My kids lost their grandfather a few years ago and I know we would cherish something like this.

We always get a new dress for Easter Mass and the dress cannot be worn until Easter Day. Sometimes this would include a new bonnet or new shoes, but no matter what we bought for Easter, it was not worn until then. And my Mom always got my sister and me Easter baskets, even after we moved out. Last year that ended as I had a baby and now she gets to celebrate with us!

a fairly new tradition for us is making resurrection cookies. a friend at church gave me the recipe and she explained how each ingredient represents a part of the story of Jesus being crucified and rising again. My daughter loves it!
Coloring Easter eggs. Starting this year I will be reading my son The Easter Story.
We are pretty standard I think, this year we are going to have a few changes though……We will wake up like normal and have Easter Bunny baskets (our bunny always leaves things like new toothbrushes, toothpaste, bath towels, hand towels, washcloths, 1 new summer outfit, a small toy, and usually a small amount of candy). Then we head out early to church to get there at 9am for the Easter breakfast (again normal) Then, we usually head home around 12 and around 4 we will head out to my MIL's house to do Easter dinner with them and an Easter egg hunt. The difference this year is that we used to do my mom and dad's house right after church, but this year I think we are going to head out to a local park or state park and grill out and spend the day playing and hunting eggs! It will help for us to split the day up, otherwise it feels like we don't even get to breathe on Easter between church, and the two familys. LOL
We eat a huge lunch with friends and then all the kids have a huge Easter Egg Hunt!!

On Easter, we all get up and put on our Easter outfits and go to church. After we get home, we eat lunch and then go Easter egg hunting in the front yard. Mommy hides the eggs once and Daddy hides the eggs once. Then we spend the rest of the day together as a family enjoying our blessings.

It's a tradition that when each child wakes up he/she has to find their Easter basket, which is hidden somewhere in the house. All throughout the house there are eggs hidden w/ candy or money (coins) in them. Afterwards, it's breakfast time. Then time to get ready & go to church with my grandmother. After church, everyone gathers at her house for lunch and a big Easter egg hunt for all the kids!!!
I have been wanting to get one of these books for her to record so that they will have it after it's her time to meet the Lord. It would be something to remember her by. There are not that many great-grandparents that get to enjoy time with their great-grandbabies so I consider it a privilege that she is still here to enjoy all of us.
My favorite Easter tradition will end this year. We would always go to my Grandma's for Easter lunch after church. But, we recently moved 5 hours away and took their 2 great grandkids with us. Grandma cries at least once a week since we moved. (We used to live right up the road.) But, new traditions will be starting. We'll color eggs for the first time this year with my daughter and read the Easter story.
We have a 2 day celebration…one Saturday with a huge lunch and Easter egg hunt with the immediate family. On Sunday, we go to church, have a huge lunch and have an Easter egg hunt/gathering with family and friends! Such good times!
Our family always invited fellow believers from our church over for a meal. When I was growing up, my family rarely had non-related guests for meals, but my parents explained that on Easter, of all times, we should celebrate the “bloodrelatives” we have through Christ's blood and His Resurrection power! As an adult, I have frequently had guests into my home, but I still make it a point to host a special meal for Easter.
Every Easter my extended family and family friends meet at the local park and have a potluck lunch after church. Then we hide plastic eggs filled with candy, change, and small toys and the hunt is on. All the adults and children look forward to our Easter tradition.
Every year since my daughter's birth we have gone to a pottery place and she has painted a ceramic egg. The first year she was about 9 months old and I just put paint in her hands and she held the egg, then I would use a different color. The older she gets, the more complex the designs, but I love looking at my basket full of eggs every year!
Our bug tradition is that we are with family and great friends! Every year is different as far as what we do but as long as we are all together, that is what matters the most!!!

I save my change throughout the year to put in the plastic easter eggs for my grandkids and niece and nephew, they get to spend half of what they find and the other half they save, it is so cute to see their eyes light up when they find the eggs (a few of them) with dollar bills in them !!

We have an “Egg Roll” where you pick your colored easter egg and roll it towards another..whom evers doesnt crack is the winner!! It keeps going until all the eggs are gone..
It's really not anything major, but I make this jello stuff…and while it's easy and soooo good, I only seem to make it on Easter. =) My kids and husband get soooo happy, and this year my grandson will be old enough to try it. I can't wait! 14 months old…his first “real” Easter. =)

My tradition is that every child of mine(they are young adults, 27,23,and 20) get a Easter basket from the” bunny”. Delivered the night before to their doors to find in the morning. And this year we have 2 new grandchildren, Jayden 9months and Ava who will be here April 13, just in time for Easter. And you can be sure that they will have a basket waiting for them Easter morning From Bubbles and Poppa!
Since I was a child, we would go to church, come home and eat an awesome home cooked meal and then we would have our easter egg hunt in our grandmothers front yard. Now, we do the same with my children except we go to their grandmothers house for the meal and hunt. It all brings back childhood memories for me. I hope my kids keep up the traditions!:)

I always enjoyed the sunrise services that were on the beach (eastcoast). Nothing like an Easter Service on the beach as the bright sun rises. Then of course we'd have egg hunts at home later in the day.
My family always goes to stay with my sister in Charleston. We go to the sunrise service. It is so beautiful and then we have lunch. This is an extra special Easter because we will be sharing it with my son born August 20th and my neice born September 7th. This will be their first Easter!
Our family tradition is cooking a big meal after church and then we all go outside and hide eggs for the kids. We usually do this about 5-6 times before coming inside and enjoying dessert. I love Easter!!!

This will be my son's 2nd Easter and we want him to know this holiday is about family, fun and what Jesus has done for us all. We plan on giving him an Easter basket, going to church, eating a big meal and spending the day as a family.
We always do lunch and have an egg hunt with that the adults sometimes particpate in. We also go to church but we do that as a family every Sunday but this Sunday is always special.

When I was a young girl, all of my aunts and uncles would come to our house for Easter breakfast (traditional babka and kielbasa for a polish breakfast) and the adults would stay in the house and catch up and the children would go outside for an easter egg hunt. When we all great and started having our own families, the tradition continued. All of my aunts and uncles and cousins and their children would come for our Polish breakfast and the children would have an Easter egg hunt after church. It was the one time of year we all were together.

My favorite Easter tradition was making Easter eggs with my older brother. He is 8 yrs. older than me but he still always wanted to die eggs with me. He also made Easter lunch for us, since he was 15. He loves to cook and it is so much fun to see him cooking.

We're Moravian and we play in the band, so we go to every members house and play music to wake them up, and go to the sunrise service. we play at the graveyard and every member who passed away the last year is named. It really reminds you of the loved ones that you have and the ones that have left you!

I am new to Easter because my culture doesn't really celebrate it like thus. But since I've been married my husbands parents who live about an 3 hours away from us drive down and take us out to lunch with my husband's twin sister and they always make it a point to bring an Easter basket and egg hunting for our only daughter that us 3. And to me it's really special because we don't really get to see them to often and they aren't very affectionate or emotional so to see them make that effort every year means the absolute world to me!!!!!

My favorite Easter tradition is a large sit-down dinner with family and friends and an Easter egg hunt for the kids. Last year the egg hunt was a blast. I was so excited to find eggs with as much as $5 in them. I think the parents had more fun finding the eggs than the kids.

My mom always hides plastic eggs filled with candy around the house. She is a very good egg hider and it always is a challenge finding all the eggs. She even has to make a key of where all the eggs are because there have been years when we could not find all the eggs and find them later in the year.
My family travels to the town where my most of my family lives and we stay with my grandmother for the weekend. On Easter Sunday, we go to church, then have a huge family get together at my grandmother's house. We have a FEAST!! Then, the aduts hide the Easter eggs and the children find them. So much fun!!!
Okay! I love holiday traditions!! We have very special traditions though on Christmas and Easter! We all get together at my granmothers and eat like we want ever eat again, then we read a story to the kids about either baby jesus birth on christmas or the resurrection on easter. And its so awesome watching my girls enjoy my pawpaw reading to them just like he did when I was a lil girl.On Easter after the story the grown ups hide the eggs and then the kids get to do their thing and find them. Once the egg hunt is over we grown ups get to have some fun. We get out in the yard with footballs, baseballs, hoola hoops, bubbles and what ever else we can do outside. And we all act like kids again. Its so funny! The kids love it! And watching my pawpaw act like he's a kid again just tickles me!

I make my own resurrection eggs, and hide one everyday for two weeks leading up to Easter. The kids love to look for the eggs and hear each part of the Easter story. It's a great and fun way to focus on Christ! On the last day we make resurrection rolls to celebrate before we dye eggs. Easter has become one of my favorite holidays!

Growing up we all loved going to sunrise service, eating breakfast at church, going home to change clothes and then heading back to church for Sunday School and church. After church we all ate lunch as a family. My favorite tradition is from my Greek ancestory where we have red-dyed hard-boiled eggs and play a game by cracking each others' egg–head-to-head and then bottom-to-bottom. We play the game still after my grandparents have passed on after we all finish eating lunch. It's a great reminder of the blood Jesus shed for us at Easter.

My family always loves to make the resurrection cookies. It was something I did as a child, and we are enjoying passing the tradition on to my daughter. It was always so much fun making the cookies and putting them in the oven right before bedtime, and then breaking them open the next morning to find an “empty tomb.”

When my boys were young, I would do a scavenger hunt for my boys in the house. I would leave a “clue” egg at the end of their bed. Once they found the first egg, there would be a “clue” inside. For example, “Where you will find your next clue, is right downstairs in your shoe.” I would having both of them running up and down the stairs frantically. The last clue would lead to their basket. The year they turned 12, I did not continue the game because I thought they had outgrown it. They were so disappointed, that I still carry on the tradition even though they are now 14!!!
I'm so excited because this year, we have our son that is 15 months old – so, just old enough to start to enjoy fun things like dying Easter eggs. We do that every year and even leave a “Easter Egg tray” out for the Easter Bunny!!!!
The night before Easter we dye eggs, in the morning we get dressed up in our new easter outfits which match the cousins and go to church afterwards all of the kids hunt for the easter eggs and we have a family dinner! :)

We do it the “old fashioned” way with food color and vinegar! Even as a child in a large family where they was little money for extras, we always colored eggs and the Easter bunny never missed our house!

My family gathers together for an awesome Easter meal every year. We take turns going to either me or my sisters houses, now that we are adults with families of our own. We love to present the children with meaningful Easter gifts that remind us just how important Easter is and what it means to us.
Favorite traditions are: 1) celebrating the resurrection and paying respects and adoration to those who have gone before us in the graveyard service at our Moravian church and 2) an Easter meal with my family.
We have a Russian easter with all kinds of foods including colored eggs and cakes with long candles.
We have incorperated a little passover traditions with our Easter Dinner after service. A place at table for Elijah and Dad hides something important(usually a new Bible with $100 in it) and starting with oldest to youngest get a 5min chance and whoever finds it gets to keep it. Also with Lent we ask out children to do something that will be a great sacrafice for them and they all get to give thier reports at desert. I love the Hallmark stuff and I am getting the recordable book for my grandson.
We started an Easter Egg Hunt last year with my now almost 3-year-old son. There wasn't even anything in the plastic eggs but he had so much fun finding them that he didn't care! I don't know if we'll be able to get away with that this year. :)

Every year for Easter our traditions consist of the night before dying boiled eggs and decorating them, making rice krispies treats in the shapes of flowers and eggs and etc. and decorating them, and then we fill the plastic eggs for the easter egg hunt we have on easter after church.

Our favorite tradition is a simple wooden cross in the yard to symbolize the true meaning of Easter. Throughout lent a purple ribbon is draped on the cross. On Good Friday, a black ribbon, and on Easter morning, a white one to symbolize newness of Christ!

Normally our tradition was to watch the nephews and niece hunt eggs at my in-laws' house, but this year, my one-year-old will be able to participate – I'm excited to see if she 'gets' it!
Our easter tradition included finding the purple bunny. We have done this since my older brother was born. Even now that we are all in our late 20's early 30's, my parents hide the purple bunny with all the other eggs, and the person who finds it wins. You would think that thing was worth a million dollars! :)
What would Easter be without an egg hunt? My family always decorates eggs and hunt for those along with plastic filled eggs. It is a tradition that I have never outgrown and I hope my boys never do!
Before Easter morning, mom would put one of those large pretty chocolate egg at the foot of my bed. I would get to eat it for breakfast. I could never finish one cause it was solid chocolate but it was fun to try.

Our fav fam Easter tradition is telling the Easter story. We have little slips of paper with a scripture on it and then a corresponding item. Also, on each egg is a number. We hide the eggs, and then, as a family, we open the eggs in the correct order. It's a lot of fun and really teaches our kids the true meaning of Easter.
Our favorite tradition is the easter egg hunt with our son and I always cook a Prime rib dinner for the three of us. Then we cuddle up on the couch for a family movie and eat all the candy the bunny left for our son!
We are starting a new tradition this year – now that we have a little girl. Easter egg hunt in her crib, dressing her up as a bunny, tye dyed pancakes in the shape of little eggs and tons of family time!
Our Easter tradition starts with Good Friday. During the day Fasting of food and no TV, Computers etc. Time for family and coloring eggs. Then in the evening we go as a family to Worship, Tenabrae Service of darkness. Saturday is low key and Sunday we all go to Worship to Celebrate. Followed by Easter Dinner with our whole “clan” all 19 of us.
We have a family reunion on Easter Sunday and all go to Eastlake Park which huge! We gather all the children's eggs and go hide them. We have been doing this for over 30 years now.
Since we've had kids (10 years now) our Easter basket has always had more Biblical-based goodies than candy or toys and in the last 4 years it's always had a devotion book, Bible or Bible cover. This gives Easter morning the right focus and makes our trip to church that much more special!
We always go to the sunrise service. It's a magical feeling watching the sun rise above the trees as you celebrate the resurrection.

since my daughter was little the week leading up to easter each day the easter bunny would leave small treats somewhere outside for her to find even now at 14 she asks if the easter bunny is going to leave suprises before easter
We would all go to my Great Grandmother, MeMe's house, who was born in the 1880's and was the only person who instilled the kindness of her Christian life to me, in my abusive alchoholic family life at home.
We would still be all dressed up and she would hide Easter eggs outside of her and her sister “Aunt Ollies' big victorian house for us to find. Since her family was English, from Cornwall, England, we could expect Cornish Pasties for lunch/dinner. I can smell them now, Um, Um…
My Mother would then take us down to town (Bangor, a small slate town in Pennsylvania, where she grew up and her father was the town's only Doctor), where we would go to Callie's Candy Kitchen (which we were related to) and we would get hand poured into large old easter molds, white or milk chocolate bunnies, chicks, airplanes, and all different shaped chocolates.
Easter was always so wonderful going to Bangor. We wished that we never had to go home.
But, thanks to MeMe, I am a full fledged Christian today. PRAISE THE LORD

My grandmother is one of 13 children. Every Easter after church we go to her oldest sister's house for dinner and an Easter Egg Hunt. The 13 children, their children, their grands and great grands attend plus neighbors. We hide over 50 dozen eggs in the woods. There are all kinds of prizes. (Most eggs, least eggs, lucky eggs, great grandmother of the lucky egg winner.) It is so much fun and a great time to spend with extended family that you don't see the rest of the year.
Whole family, extended and all, get together for a huge meal. Then all the kids hunt eggs. Lots of fun!

Easter is one of my favorite holidays. We have a big Easter egg hunt every year at my mom & dad's house. We actually have 2 Easter egg hunt's, one for the kids and one for the grown ups. The egg's are filled with money which makes it even more fun. Here we are grown adults running around the yard looking for Easter egg's. I'm sure we look alittle crazy running around the yard but it's so much fun!

I am the “baby” of five and I'm 25: the oldest is 45. To this day every year the Saturday before Easter we have a cook out and die Easter eggs. After all of us (about 20 in all) are done with the eggs dry and we eat. When all is sad in done while we eat we also put eggs out for the kids to hunt. The wonderful part about our tradition is we love this as much or more as the kids!

The easter bunny always left our baskets on the front porch -we would hurry outside to find them easter morning before church!!! And then we would get all dressed up in our new easter clothes and go to church!! My husband and his brothers always had an easter egg hunt on easter sunday! My favorite Easter tradition is that my husband started hiding eggs 25 years ago in our vehicle the night before so our daughter could find them on the way to church Easter morning. The family dinner at Grammy and Grandpa's was always my favorite. There were always fuzzy “chicks” decorating the table that were fun for the kids to play with. All my life every Easter of coarse we go to church ,as we do every Sunday, then we go to my Mawmaw and Pawpaw's(my Pawpaw has long passed but I still call it Mawmaw and Pawpaw's) eat a great lunch shared with Mawmaw and Pawpaw's 4 children and thier spouses, then there is 11 grandchildren which all have spouses,22 great-grandchildren and a few are married and 2 great-great grandchildren. Then after everyone has eaten then its Easter egg hunt time! Its even more precious now with 3 children of my own!
We go to church in our new dresses, shoes shirts ect. We color eggs and hide them. The easter bunny comes and hides our easter baskets. When I was a child we always saw passion play that depicted th crucifixation and resurrection of Christ out door on real crosses. It looked so real. I would love to find something like this for m own children.
The adult easter egg hunt! We have clear eggs, camouflage eggs and a yard that makes finding them a lot harder than it sounds. Each participant has to find his color of eggs. The younger kids have bright green or pink, the adults get the camo and clear. Lots of fun for the whole family!

This is the first Easter I will share with my daughter Kasidee (8 Months). I hope to make holidays like Easter just as fun for her as my mom has made them for my sister and I. My mom still makes us each an Easter basket (the original one from when we were kids!) filled with goodies. I'm 25 and I still look foward to my Easter basket!

We used to all get the samecandy every year and loved that. Reese's pb eggs, robin eggs, and a Russell stover solid choc bunny. I am pregnant with our 1st now and can't wait to have the Easter Bunny bring the same goodies to my child. Hopefully I can add a Hallmark book with the grandparents' voices as well to the tradition.
My kids are allergic to most kinds of candy, so we put stickers inside plastic eggs for them to find. When they have found all of the eggs, they sit down and add their new stickers to an Easter sticker notebook. Then we load them up and hide them again. Some eggs have sticker letters in them that spell out a message. The kids can't wait to see what surprise is in each egg, and what the special message is that is meant for each of them.
My grandmother would make this huge sheet cake in the shape of a bunny head. I don't like coconut but still loved seeing this cake every year. My family has moved miles apart and we aren't able to be together on Easter like when I was a child. Time has taken my wonderful grandmothers mind and the bunny cake. Although we weren't very religious Easter was a beautiful big holiday as a child. I wish my 2 y/o could have the same big family experience.

While building our new home in the woods next door to the current one, the contractors found a plastic Easter egg! It had been well hidden for at least 10 years! What a surprise and a reminder of when our children were young.
The adults always hide the Easter Eggs for the kids first and then after all the eggs are dound, the kids get to then hide the eggs for the adults to find! We all have tons of fun and prizes for both the little ones and the adults.

Well, being the oldest of 10 children and coming from a Christian family, Easter has always been very special to us. My mom making lunch after church and then a HUGE egg hunt in our yard. My particular favorite Easter was the year (1991, I believe) when my mom decided to make all (9 at the time) of us matching Easter outfits. She worked so hard and on the last one (the night before Easter) she somehow sewed it upside down! Yeah, it wasn't funny at the time. But bless her heart, she ripped out every stitch and remade it and we were all matching and in church Sunday morning on time! I just love to remember that

We hide the Easter basket, and give the kids clues they have to follow from one to the other until they end up at their baskets. The kids LOVE it. Even my 3 yr old gets really easy clues and he eats it up. My parents did it for me and my sisters, so we continue the Easter Basket hunt with our kids.

We always crack the eggs against each other. The one with an uncracked egg wins. I remember so vividly doing this with my grandfather. He always won but I never learned his secret.
We haven't really made any Easter traditions in our family yet, as our daughter is just 2 now, but I loved searching for my Easter basket when I was a little girl.
For Easter we get together with family for a big dinner. We only catch up with most of them at the Christmas holiday, Easter and Thanksgiving. The kids like to hunt eggs with prizes in them.
We live away from biological family, so we have adopted a new family in Christ for the holidays when we cannot travel home. This will be our first Easter with our son, so a new tradition is sure to begin, but our former tradition will still continue which is a southern style pot luck feast on a friend's farm and swimming in the pond from the rope swing! Easter Tradition for my family and I is first and foremost celebrating the Resurrection of our Savior. A large ham dinner with all the fixings. Who can forget the Easter egg hunt for the young and old.
My favorite Easter tradition was to hide eggs in the backyard for my seven Grandkids. I would put golden coin dollars in some and others would have candy or slips of numbers inside that went to a list of prizes ie: five dollar bills, games, color books with crayons, chalk, bubbles, and other surprises. We would give each of them some doughnuts in the yard from Dunkin Doughnuts as well.I would hide the eggs while they were at Church, and put the doughnuts out there too on their trampoline or table.So far I just got little bunny/duckies for the tub for the Great Grand….We would have a lovely dinner with all of them.
We go spend the weekend with our extended family, going to church, eating a huge Southern-style, traditional Easter lunch, and all the adults watching all the kids hunt Easter eggs on my father's front yard. For us it is all about taking time to spend together as a family, enjoying each others company and celebrating the true meaning of Easter.
Easter is very special to our family. We celebrate our risen Savior! The night before Easter we make Tomb Cookies and the next morning when we open our oven and break open the cookies they are empty on the inside…just as the tomb was empty!! We always have a special service at church and the kids have an Easter Egg Hunt. It is a wonderful Day!

After church the entire family (my siblings and their families) all gather at my mother's house for dinner and an egg hunt. There are over 200 eggs and 9 or 10 kid to hunt for them. Most of them are filled with money (mostly coins) that we have saved over the year. There is a Golden Egg with a 20 dollar bill. The twon 15 year olds are trying to decide if they are too old this year. My bet is that they won't be!.
We have an 10mo old so we will start some new traditions. We have traveled in years past, but unsure this year. My Mom always gave us an Easter basket. As a child, it included stockings, hair accessories, etc to go with our new Easter outfit for church. She continued to give us basket as long as we lived in the house, even through college. I loved waking up to that basket sitting on the end of the bed. The most important tradition we had was attending church to celebrate Christ's resurrection.
So many wonderful traditions! I am going to say dying eggs, since that is one of the last things that my dad got to do with my daughter before he began celebrating Easter in Heaven.
My favorite Easter tradition is the making of the watermelon egg. My aunt pulls out the tape and makes at least one every year.
The night before Easter we read a couple of books to the kids about the true meaning behind Easter. We explain that while receiving a Easter basket is fun the true blessing is what Jesus did for us. A favorite from my past is waking up Easter morning and searching for our Easter baskets the Easter bunny left us! My mom would always make me and my brother a special basket with just things we liked and I especially remember the coloring book she would put in there and a box of brand new crayons… I miss those days!
My husbnd and I enjoy going our church service that morning then a nice lunch afterwards. And of course I also enjoy looking for a new “Easter” dress for that day.

We try to connect Old & New Testament. We remember the plagues the 10 days before Good Friday. The kids will find “frogs” in their beds, locusts in the cabinet, etc. Then we have family communion on Good Friday and talk about the final and perfect lamb being slain. Of course the egg hunt and more come on Sunday!
While I was growing up my parents always got me a chocolate peanut butter egg from a local candy shop…we loved it!

Our Easter tradition starts with church (while my husband gets him in the car) I set out eggs in the back yard (the plastic ones) and all the easter stuff on the coffee table, so when he comes back he's surprised that the Easter bunny came…lol. I make an early Easter supper (Usually Ham, veggies and rolls) and we all sit and eat together and then we color Easter eggs and have them for breakfast the next morning…(It's alot easier then trying to do it before church..)

One tradition we have continued is deocrating 100 eggs and stuffing them with stickers/non food items and suprising kids with them. We drop them on front porches 10 to a bag and run. It is so much fun making and decorating them. My kids love to do it. I think it inspires giving.

Every Easter morn my family got up early and when to the early “sunrise” service (usually held outside at a park or a community church grounds). Then out to eat breakfast and then to Sunday School and Church services. Afterwards, the lunch and hiding Easter eggs, all the while remembering the real reason for the holiday.
Now I have a 1 year old granddaughter and we will be going to their church (my son-in-law is a pastor) and then ????? This year will be the start of new traditions. So exciting, and yet I will always remember my previous 58 Easters!!!!!

I am a single mom of three girls: 19, 16 and 12. We always dye easter eggs together every year. We each pick out our favorite egg and place it in our centerpiece. We put out all the easter books they loved when they were small and the salvation eggs they made in kindergarten! They still get easter baskets on easter morning. The past few years I have put items in that I have gotten at yard sales and great deals at drugstores. We do not have much financially but we know we are more than blessed to have each other!!
This year I am giving (small) gifts to all the family who gather for the Easter meal. I decided to emphasize “giving” and “celebration” at Easter, like Christmas, because yes, we celebrate the birth of Christ but it is His resurrection that gives us hope!
Easter was my dad's favorite holiday! We would get up every Easter to a note from the Easter Bunny that our baskets would be there when we got home from church. We would all get dressed up in our new Easter outfits and head to church for the sunrise service then breakfast. When we got home there were our baskets from the Easter Bunny. We would have a huge lunch with the famiy then spend the rest of the day hanging out and playing games. It is a tradition I plan to continue with my kids now that they are getting older and my dad is no longer around! This is a very special holiday for me!!!

We are starting a new tradition this year of serving food to others. After all, Easter is about God giving us his only Son so we thought it would be neat to give to others on this day as well.

I love to go on an Easter Egg hunt. When I was little my dad would find all kinds of weird places to hide the eggs. He would bury them in the ground or any other crazy place so he could trick us. This is one my favorite childhood memories.
My favorite is making a bunny cake with m&ms for the outline.
We color Easter eggs and my daughter will look for them in the morning, and laugh at the funny places the bunny gets into, like her Barbie minivan.

We have 2 toddler GRANDsons and are blessed to live near and spend a lot time with one….but the other one lives 11 hours away. A Hallmark Recorable Book is a great idea. Nana and papa can be a part of his Easter by reading to him, in their own voices, even if they can't hold him while reading. And both boys would love the ducks. This would be much more personal than a card, candy, and Easter toys.

We love going to the grandparents for easter… They hide eggs in the front yard for the adults…(small bills, change, etc for the grown ups to collect) and candy filled eggs in the back yard for the kids. It is awesome to see two grown men (brothers) gathering up eggs to see if either has enought for dinner night out!
We always died Easter eggs as a family. When my grandfatther was alive he would let us crack them on his bald head. We always thought it was funny. Now that I am older and he is no longer with us, I treasure dying Easter eggs with my kids. It is a great time to share my memories with them while making new ones with them and my parents.

We get all dressed up in our new Easter Dresses and go to church to hear a preaching on the meaning of easter. Afterwords, the children have a huge egg hunt. We make the rest of the day a peaceful family day. What a blessed day, and a day we should all be so greatful for. Than you god for giving your son & thank Jesus for giving you live and rolling away the stone and rising again!!!!
A favorite tradition in my family are the Resurection Eggs. They are wonderful for showing children the life, death and resurection of Jesus. My children look forward to this ever year. They can't wit to see which symbol is inside each egg.

When we were young we always went shopping for a new dress for Easter Sunday. I loved getting a new purse and bonnet to match my outfit. My mom still has some pictures of my sister and I all dressed up on an old stump in front of our house.

When we were little, my mom used to hide the little foil wrapped chocolate eggs in several rooms of the house. The inside Easter egg hunt was always fun!
Big lunch after church at my grandma's house. This year she is in a rehab facility after breaking her hip and having surgery. It will be sad not to be at her house but am very thankful she is doing so well!

Since my son was born, we have started going to the local Harley Davidson shop on Easter and my son loves hearing and seeing the motorcycles and they always make it super fun for the kids. Plus, an Easter Bunny with a beard and sunglasses is always funny to my son.

growing up we always got new Easter clothes and drove to Look Out Mountain every year, had a picnic, we have tried to carry on that tradition with my children.
Always have Easter dinner with my in-laws after church. This year will be different. My father-in-law went home to be with Jesus on March 1 of this year. My boys will really miss him this year.

We love the confetti-filled eggs. You prick a hole on each end of a raw egg then blow the contents into a bowl. Rinse out the eggshell and let it dry thoroughly. After it's dry, open the hole on the top of the shell enough that you can put confetti into the shell. Cover the hole with a glued-on piece of tissue paper. The eggshell can be dyed prior to filling with confetti, if you want.

We ride to a Sunday Service on Easter Sunday and then go to my friend Melba's house to watch their grand kids go Easter Egg hunting because my grand daughter is at her mee maws house for Easter. My grandmother used to hide eggs for an Easter egg hunt and she would fill a bunch with money from her change box. It was always fun to see who would get a $5 bill or other money. Now we do the same for our kids.
We always go to church and add fresh cut flowers from our garden to the Easter Cross in front of the church. Its's amazing to come out after the service and see how the
cross has bloomed.
We make it a point to find a rabbit on Easter day! Ever since my hustband and I were married we have found one every Easter! Now that my daughter is 1 and loving animals we hope to continue the tradition! I don't think it will be that hard this year as our neighbors now have nine of their own!

We like to make the resurrection cookies. You crack eggs, beat pecans and place the cookies in a cold oven overnight. In the morning, the mixture has created a cookie with an empty center (nothing is in the tomb). The surprise on my children's faces reminds me of the ability we all innately have to believe in the impossible.
Even though we live in Columbia, SC we drive up to where my in-laws live in Indiana every year for Easter. I love church on Easter morning followed by visiting the grandparents and extended family!

Every Easter we get tulips to brighten up our home, then after they have dried out, we plant the bulbs outdoors so we can love them from year to year.

One of our favorite traditions at Easter is to color 5 dozen eggs. We then have the neighborhood Easter egg hunt with prizes by age for those who collect the most eggs. The older kids help the younger ones – it's a win win event. We love the fun it brings out in everyone!
My grandparents used to have the biggest Easter Egg hunt for the grandchildren. My “Pap” loved candy and this was his favorite holiday. Plus, he'd load the plastic eggs with money..anything from $1-20! So we NEVER got tired of hunting for eggs no matter how old we got. Now that he's gone we are continuing the Egg Hunt for our children. Can't wait to see them as 12 year old still running to get the “loaded” candy eggs.

I took his picture and he actually kept them on (impressive for a 7-month-old) and it was so adorable, I'd like to continue it. I plan on taking another picture of him on the sofa this year, wearing his bunny ears and showing off his Easter basket. I'd love to have a series of him growing and changing over the years. Hopefully they'll make it to the next sibling and we can have photos of them as well.
My mom makes jello eggs, but she makes them extra special. She makes them deviled jello eggs by cutting them in half and putting whipped cream on them so they look like deviled eggs! I also loved them as a kid!

Growing up we always made “Easter Nest” for the Easter Bunny to leave our goodies in. We would take newspaper and lay out and then go out searching for grass and all sorts of beautiful flowers. We would take our grass and make a nest and then adorn it with all of the flowers. My favorite is to always find Dogwood flowers and make a white cross with them. It's so much more fun than getting a bought basket…it's something special and unique. It's a tradition that I have LOVED passing down to my children as well.

My favorite Easter Tradition is attending an Easter Service. Without Easter my faith is worthless. I praise Him because he LIVES!
When I was younger; one of my Grandmothers, who lived 2 hrs away, would send us a huge Easter basket for the whole family. It was always filled with our favorite candy and a few plastic eggs w/ each of our names on them. Some of the plastic eggs would jingle and some would just have our favorite candy in them. It was always a big deal in our house to see what goodies MawMaw sent us. Although it was not the reason to celebrate the day; it certainly made it more exciting as a small child. I still to this day see Snickers eggs and think of her awesome baskets.

We prepare a Easter nest in the yard on Saturday made from any blooming flowers in the yard and area. In the center of the nest we put Easter grass. This is where the Easter basket is found the next morning. (In Case of rain)..the nest is built on the porch.
My favorite Easter tradition is watching the reenactment of Jesus' crucifixion/resurrection. It's such an important part of our lives and it is such a great reminder of all that we live for and all that He has given/gives.
Since I was child we always gathered at my grandmother's house for Easter dinner. I'm 52 years old now with grown children of my own. My grandmother is in an assisted living home now. She has the beginning of alzhimers. When I go to see her she knows me sometimes. It's sad to see traditions change. We still gather together, but at my Aunt's house now. Easter is a time of families getting together and celebrating with one another.
We always go to the Easter Vigil Mass on Saturday night. It is my favorite Mass of the whole year!
every year we have an Easter egg hunt, only the kids hide them for the adults! We have a ball and do it because of my Grandma who loved to hunt eggs as much as the kids do. We lost her this past November, and we'll be hunting to honor her memory this year.

We always attend Easter service. Since my little one turned “1”last year we could have our first Easter Egg hunt. It was so fun watching her pick each egg up and put it in her basket. We also put a little something special around one egg and she was just over the moon about it that we'll probably do the same thing again this year.

My wife continues the tradition of making the easter bunny cake. It is one that her grandmother had. Some years it takes multiple tries to get the icing right. It is a great way to bring the family together remebering the past, live in the present and look forward to the future.

Our family celebrates our risen Savior at a special Easter Sunday church service every year. My mom made my sister and I a handmade heirloom easter dress every year to make the day even more special. Now she does the same for our little girls :) So special and I'll never forget entering the Lord's house on Easter sunday morning in my special dress for such a special occasion.
For the 11 days leading up to easter, we open a “resurrection egg” each day. They are plastic eggs filled with something from the “Easter Story.” i.e. Crown of Thorns, cup, sponge, dice (throwing lots for Jesus' clothes), etc. We explain the significance of whatever is our egg and read the corresponding Bible Verse(s). On Easter Sunday, the last egg is empty! It signifies the empty tomb. We also make “Empty Tomb” cookies the night before Easter and they are in the oven all night. We all go to church on Sunday to celebrate Jesus' resurrection, and afterwards, we eat our cookies (but not too many to spoil our Easter Lunch)! :)
Our favorite Easter tradition is dyeing eggs the night before. Then, our kindergarten son gets to do a sort of treasure hunt to find his Easter Basket. We all go to church and then we have a home-cooked meal. Last year we had lamb, haroset and matzo ball soup. Not sure what's on the menu yet for this year.
Before church we would find the filled Easter baskets that the “Easter Bunny” hid somewhere in our house. When we were very young there was always a trail of cotton from the bunny tail to help us out. My dad started this trail of cotton tradition when I was child and I still use it for my boys today. They love following the cotton ball trail to a basket full of Easter treats.
Our family celebrates the death, burial, and resurrection every Sunday, so Easter Sunday isn't that special of a day for us, BUT I will always treasure and love Beatrix Potter books (especially Petter Rabbit) because my grandmother loved them so. Also, she would use a 9″ round cake and divide it in half and turn it up on the straight sides (and put the 2 halves togther) to make a cocunut bunny cake. She even used green food coloring to make the coconut into grass around the bunny. So cute and I will continue this tradition with my son who just turned 1.
My favorite Easter tradition is to bake those Easter Eve cookies where we seal (tape) the cookies into the “tomb” (oven) to bake.
My In-laws have another AWESOME tradition. We eat a passover meal (no, we're not Jewish, but Baptist) to remind ourselves of the bitterness and suffering that came to Jewish people and Jesus himself in the days/hours before Good Friday. THEN, we enjoy the yummy Easter meal all the more fully!
My family gets up early on Easter Morning and after the frantic search for all of the eggs that the Easter Bunny hid around the house, we all make breakfast together in our pajamas! Bunny shaped pancakes with bacon whiskers are always on the menu. We eat breakfast and then start a ham in the crockpot so that it can cook while we head off to church!

So many wonderful traditions! Easter is an extra special day at church, where we take communion. Then we return home for a family meal. We usually like to get the family together and hide eggs for the kids with prizes inside. One year, I put change in all of the eggs and let the kids count how much they got! I love starting new traditions for my three little girls, because I didn't really have “traditions” growing up.
Our Easter tradition is so special. We attend church together as a family. Our children are grown and have families of their own now. We go to our Daughter and son-in-laws and have dinner. For dessert, is the famous bunny cake. When our kids were little, I made them a bunny cake every Easter without fail. When they all left, I quit making it. The first year we went to our daughter's, there was the bunny cake. The tradition has carried on and I do believe my daughter-in-law makes it, too. Something small to others, but sweet and special to us. Also helps that the 3, almost 4 now, grandchildren love it! :)

We have a treasure hunt. Each person gets an egg w/a clue of where to find their next egg, which has a clue to the next and so on. Each egg, also, has a surprise..a piece of candy, sticker, small toy, etc. The seventh egg tells where to go to search for their basket. The kids love it, young and old.

For over 40 years ago my grandmother started an Easter Tree. When someone in our family is born or gets married she will purchase an egg and put our name on it.So every Easter after breakfast every one will go to the “Tree” look for their egg it will have a # on the egg and we all go outside to look for our gift with our #. It is so much fun for everyone:)

He jumps up every Easter morning and runs to the back door to see what the Easter Bunny left.

One of my favorite Easter traditions is making resurrection rolls with my kiddos. We take a crescent roll, which represents the tomb they laid Jesus' body in. Dip a jumbo marshmallow in oil and place it in the center of the crescent roll. Sprinkle cinnamon on the marshmallow. The white marshmallow represents Jesus because He is sinless. They anointed Jesus' body with oil and spices because they loved Him. Wrap the crescent roll around the marshmallow and spices. Place in a pan and bake. Closing the oven represents rolling the stone in front of the tomb. The marshmallow will melt and disappear during the cooking process, which represents Jesus rising from the grave. I love this visual for teaching children about our Savior's death, burial, and resurrection, which is the whole reason for the celebration of Easter

We go to a church-related national convention on Easter weekend so a fancy meal at home won't work. At the convention, we get to spend time with my husband's side of the family (who are all out of town) & then on Sunday after the convention we go to our favorite Mexican restaurant for lunch. Nothing says Easter like fajitas & tacos! It is a tradition that our kids love b/c they get to be with their cousins for the weekend.

My family has celebrated Easter in this way for 24 yrs… Wake up to Easter baskets, new outfits (and sometimes just new to us…lol) for Easter, off to Church, follwed by a Candy Shower from the roof, then home to a large family dinner where everyone in driving distance meets. After dinner its relax and enjoy being together, followed by an Egg Hunt in the evening before Sunset. These times have become more precious as my Grandparents and parents have become older. The last several yrs we've had four generations represented. As times become harder there is nothing more important then knowing the you have God and family you can depend on, and family moments are always important.

I have loved coloring eggs as long as I can remember. Long past the time kids usually want to, I could be found every Easter Eve diligently color my eggs. When I had a child this was something I looked forward to. Now every year my children and I try out lots of different techniques and love hiding and finding them. We have also made a point to get pictures taken with the Easter bunny. The progress that can be seen within these pictures from year to year is amazing!

So excited about Easter this year! Our church choir always sings a special song and then we always try to eat lunch with all the family. My 5 year sings “He arose” all the time.

My favorite tradition is the Easter Egg hunt by far the kids excitment is contagious.
One of our favorite Easter traditions is the “Living Cross' at our church. A wooden cross is erected and draped with a purple scarf the week before Easter. On Good Friday, the purple scarf is replaced with a black one. On Easter Morning it is replaced with a WHITE one. As families come to church, we put live flowers all over the cross (it has been covered with chicken wire that you can't really see but holds the flowers in place). By the time every one has arrived, the cross is covered with living flowers. Every family has their picture taken near the cross.
We go to Ft. Pulaski every easter for a cookout on the pavillion. We grill steaks and everyone brings a side dish from home and after eating we have a big easter egg hunt for all the kids. The jack pot egg has like $20 in it and the kid that finds that egg is always super excited!

Going to church to celebrate the Real Reason we have Easter in the first place, Death and Ressurection of Jesus Christ! Generally, after church we have dinner with family and the kids celebrate with a fun candy filled egg hunt. Lots of family time and celebrating the greratest gift ever given, the gift of salvation, from Jesus Christ for dying for our sins and rising again.

We have carried this tradition through my family since I was a little girl. It is something my mother did for us and all the children love it. We wake up Easter morning to start off our hunt by looking for our baskets. Yes we make them special for that particular child and hide them in the house and they have to find it. It just adds a little fun and gets them ready to look for all thise eggs, especially the Golden one our tradition has always been to have money in it!
We spend Saturday night at my mom's house which is in my hometown with all my cousins, aunts, uncles, etc. and on Easter Sunday we enjoy service at our small country church where my husband and I were married and our daughter was baptized. Then we eat a big lunch at my cousin's country home and all the kids in the family have an egg hunt on her land. It is always a great time!

As grandparents living far from kids and grandkids, when they visit we dye 3 or 4 dozen hard boiled eggs in various colors. Then we hid them and let the kids find them over and over until they are ready to eat them.
My kids are getting older 10 and 12 but still love dying eggs! Not so much hiding them anymore but they lover coloring them!
Our newest Easter tradition started a few years ago when the first grandchildren were born into my family. They were too little to hunt for eggs that first Easter, so my mom decided to do an adult Easter egg hunt with money and a golden egg worth $50. It was a knock down drag out to see who was going to find that egg. It's gotta be pretty funny to see a bunch of 20 & 30 year olds running around looking for eggs. Even though more grandchildren have been born and are able to have their own Easter egg hunt, we still have our competitive adult Easter egg hunt!!
We would wake up Easter morning and hunt for our baskets- the Easter Bunny had hidden them throughout the house…luckily with 4 of us we didn't have to look too long! I can't wait for my son to be old enough so that we can start this tradition with him!
We love reading the Easter story the night before Easter. Of course, we dye eggs and on Easter morning when the kiddos wake up they have baskets and eggs scattered throughout the house to find. It's always a day of fun and smiles!!
We bake special cookies which tell the story of Christ's death and resurrection. The cookies are sealed in the oven overnight so that in the morning they can discover that the center of the cookie is empty, just like the tomb. Praise God He died for our sins!!

My boys are only 2 and a half (they are twins) so we are working on creating new traditions. My husband's family growing up did an easter egg hunt with a golden egg. Whomever found it got the large chocolate bunny. We are thinking about starting that with our boys. We tried an egg hunt last year, a small one and they had fun so this year we will step it up a little.

We enjoy the sunrise service in our community. In years past, all the grandchildren would enjoy an egg hunt at my mother's. After they found the eggs, they would hide them for their dads to find. It was so much fun, even now, as grownups, they still talk about hiding the eggs for their fathers.
I too love the Hallmark recordable books. My husband and I recorded the Christmas story for or granddaughter. My daughter bought one and had each member of the family from the youngest to the oldest record one page each. Those will be treasured for years to come!

Our favorite tradition is the egg hunt. My family loves to hide the eggs, and watch the boys find them. Each year it gets a little more challenging to find good hiding places!
My family participates in a family tradition that we have shared with the families and churches we have had the privilege to serve at ( my husband is a pastor). Each year we put up a wooden cross that is covered with chicken wire. On Easter Sunday morning everyone is invited to add fresh flowers to the cross in honor of our risen Savior. The cross is absolutely beautiful when our Easter service begins.
Each year, our family goes to Maundy Thursday service at our church. On Good Friday, we continue the service at the Rock Church (St. Olaf Kirke), which was the original building that was built in 1886 with no electricity, but amazing accoustics, for the story of Jesus' last hours. On Sunday morning, the girls get dressed in their Sunday best and at least each have new shoes, if not new dresses, too. They receive a special Easter gift and we go to worship service to celebrate that Jesus is risen from the dead and is alive – Alleluia! (As they are young, we generally do not make the sunrise service.) We then come home and celebrate Easter together and, if possible, invite our extended family to join us. As our younger daughter was baptized on Easter Sunday, we also discuss their baptisms with them on Easter and the importance of that event in each of our lives.
My favorite tradition was the egg hunt. My Grandpa always put money in the eggs so that we could get the candy that we wanted. It was fun to go to the local gas station and get as much as our money would buy. I would love to have a storybook with my Grandpa reading it.
We have all the family for a big Easter dinner with ham and fixings! Then we go outside and hide eggs for the 15 kids! So much food, fun, and fellowship!

Our dinner menu is a tradition. It is always baked ham, potato salad, baby lima beans, deviled eggs, and rolls. We usually have either a lemon cake or strawberry shortcake for dessert.
When I was a kid I treasured going to my grandparents house and Having Sunday dinner and having a Huge Egg hunt with all my cousins. I am proud to say that that tradition carries on with my Husband's family. There are so many of us we can't fit in the house.
We have a family photo taken. My husband is not a huge fan of being in pictures, but he puts up with it for Easter and it is very nice with our dressy church clothes on for the occasion!

Our favorite Easter tradition started when my oldest was bored with easter Egg hunting, I throw colored jelly beans in our yard, he has to find one of each color, that represent the witness story and he wears his witness bead bracelet, which we make, to remind him of the colors!

When I was young my parents would read to us from the Bible about the death and resurrection of Jesus. They would also fill Easter baskets and hide them around the house. My husband and I have continued to do these things with our three sons. I love telling them the awesome story of Jesus and how he paid the price for us on the cross but then conquered death so we could live eternally with Him!

We have a family wide (about 60 people) Easter egg hunt. Even though we are down to about 5 children small enough to want to hunt eggs, we continue this EVERY year. It's more about the family time.

I was directing an Easter play at church and my oldest daughter was the angel that told Mary that Jesus was not there, but had risen. Well, during all the rehersals my daughter did not climb the ladder and sit on top (as if she were on top of the cave) and say her line. When the play occured. It was as if the real angel helped her and just as the spot light lit her up ontop of the cave, she said her lines and said it with conviction. I was so proud and touched. Needless to say she got a standing ovation.

Kind of silly by my parents do an easter egg hunt for all the grankids followed by an easter egg hunt for my husband, myself, my brother, and my sis-in-law – it's so much fun and there's always a few eggs with great prizes like gift certificates to local restaurants, etc. I just love it! :)
Every year we start early and grow real grass in our Easter baskets! The kids love watching the grass grow and it also begins the holiday sooner so we have more time to discuss the true meaning. My husband and I also use a stencil and flour to make bunny feet throughout the house where some eggs may be hidden or a trail to their baskets! We also always get together with both sides of the families so all the children can hunt eggs together and the adults can have fellowship

My husband is from Hungary and they have a tradition where they “water” a loved one by sprinkling scented water and saying a prayer over them for Easter. I fell in love with this tradition and we have adopted it in our family and we do it every Easter. Moreover my oldest son (5 years) has his birthday usually during the Easter holidays and he loves making up his own verse.

As cliche as it is, it has to be the Easter Egg hunt. My mom's family had amazing Easter egg hunts. The kids had theirs and the adults had another for them afterward. It was always so much fun. And since they lived in the country it was over a huge yard so the eggs were everywhere. Even as I am grown one of my favorite memories was dying a HUGE basket of eggs with my 3 year old daughter to take to my grandparents house. I wanted my daughter to experience the hunts as I had when I was young. Sadly she dropped the whole bowl on the way out the door and all but a few cracked. (We still hid them :) ) It lit up my grandfathers face to see his only great grandchild hunt the eggs. Sadly by the next year he had passed away just shortly before Easter so we didn't hunt eggs. This year I plan on dying a big bowl again in his memory.
When we came downstairs on Easter morning, our Easter baskets were always overflowing with gifts and before church, we made cookies and dyed eggs. My mom always smocked my 2 brothers and I matching outfits and made our Easter baskets from plastic and yarn and then hid Eggs all over our backyard. We got to play in our nice clothes and looking back, the photos are adorable. Having special things is important to my mom who is now a Grammie and I know she'd love to get this gift for my daughter.

One of my favorite things is when son leaves out carrots for the Easter Bunny. We even go to the 'fancy market' to find the ones with the green tops attached.

My husband and I meet my daughter, son-in-law, and their two children , along with my son-in-laws parents, and his sister and her husband. We witness the beautiful sun rise over the lake , while we sing about Christ's resurrection and assention into Heaven. After the service we all go out to eat and then watch the little ones hunt for Easter eggs…

Our favorite Easter tradition is having all the family over and a family Easter Egg Hunt. However, since all the kids are older we use plastic eggs with clues and riddles to help find the next one. All the kids (even the 16 year old) begs for us to do this each year.
We do the egg hunt and easter baskets, but the main focus is Easter service and remembering Who Easter is really about.
I've been making Resserection Baskets for my daughter since she was 1 now 13. I believe in the real reason for the season. I don't put normal Easter stuff I put books crayons glue things she needs that are fun. Things change the older she gets
My favorite Easter would have to be about ten years ago when all of my brothers and sisters and their families (about 65 people) started a tradition.We all get together at a lodge ,and spend the whole weekend together.we ride boats, we swim, we cookout,and we visit.The best part is Sunday morning,we have our own Sunrise Service,led by members of our family,And then we eat a big breakfast,clean up,and then it's time to go home.We also have a hugh Easter egg hunt,divided into 3 groups ,because even our grown children take part in the hunt.
with 7 kids, we put pennies, nickels and dimes in plastic eggs (with an occasional quarter or dollar) and had an egg hunt. after that we would eat a breakfast with chocolate chip pancakes and peanut butter/maple syrup. then it was off to church to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Saviour!

My husband is one of 8 children and his parent's always have a HUGE Easter Egg Hunt with 300-400 eggs hidden in a nearby wooded area on their property. After church every family brings a dish and a doz or more dyed eggs, we have a big Easter meal, then all the little children, grand children, great grand children, a couple of great-great grand children and adults pile into trucks, cars, SUVs and a trailer with hay bales and take a short ride to the “hunt”. Then weather permitting the afternoon is spent playing baseball, red-rover, horse shoes and just general “catching up conversation”. Of course we all have “leftovers” before we leave so nobody has to cook dinner! These memories are held dear by my children and now my grand children are having the same wonderful experience.

Our favorite and best Easter tradition is to wake up and say to each other “HE IS RISEN!” to which we reply “HE IS RISEN INDEED” then we all find our hidden Easter baskets. We then go to church in a brand new set of clothes, sing tradition hymns such as “He Arose!”. After church, we head home for a dinner of Ham, Macaroni and Cheese and lots of other family favorites. Of course, being the sweet Mom and Grandmom that I am, I always sneak a bag of jelly beans in my purse and I'm always the favorite person to sit by in church that day!! We started a new tradition last year after the birth of our first child. The entire family goes camping and we bbq. We hid the eggs in the motor home and around the campsite. We also took the boat out on the lake and everyone agreed, that for a new tradition, it was the best Easter we'd ever had. We are having our 2nd annual Easter BBQ this easter.
Our Easter tradition is no matter what age our daughter gets which she is almost 16. She still gets an Easter basket put out and she still hunts Easter eggs. Then we visit each set of parents and we all hunt Easter eggs. I love spending time with all of the family.
I have a 3 year old and 7 month old now… I am so grateful to start traditions with them and will go back to my own to begin them! We don't celebrate the Easter bunny, it's solely about Jesus' rising! We love going to our friends home eating breakfast together and having a massive egg hunt with tons of eggs, kids and laughs. This year will be a little different and hard. My hubby is currently in Iraq so we will continue on but it won’t be the same. I just wanted to say, we got my daughter (4 yrs old) the my little princess book and hubby recorded it and gave it to her before he left. That was 2/9 and he won’t be home for 11 months, she has listened to it every night since he left sometimes tons of times. I have even listened to it, just to hear his voice. Amazing and so special. Hopefully we can add more to the collection!

When I was little we would always go to my grandparents & have a huge Easter dinner. Since my grandfather died the family has kind of lost contact. I make it my duty to always go to my grandmothers house & help her cook and share the holidays. Now that I'm married & have kids we have at least 3 different family get togethers & getting to see the looks on my children's faces warms my heart & takes me back to when I was a child.

Then have a small breakfast then later that day the rest of our family meets up at someones house or some where eats and hunts eggs *real and fake* we loved the fake ones there was always something good and one always had a larger $ bill in it. We dye dozens of eggs (a few for each family member) the night before Easter, then Easter morning the Easter Bunny Leaves Baskets at the foot of the beds for the kids, So they find them when they wake up… Then we get dressed In Sunday Best visit church, & go visit with Family, we do a Easter Egg hunt, while finishing up our dinner, Then we gather with Family, Say grace, & eat a Easter dinner all in remembrance of why we really Celebrate Easter….

Easter traditions with out family is a great morning at church followed up with a great lunch that gets all the family together. We get pictures with all the families and then do a big easter egg hunt. ;)
We always do a huge batch of dyed eggs. It is sort of a contest at who can do the most unique design!
We've always attended Sunday Morning Service. However, a new tradition was started 7yrs ago when my mom passed away. Now we go to my sister's house with my whole family for lunch & an egg hunt.
We do it all: dye the eggs, Easter baskets, church in our Sunday finest, big dinner with the family, & then a huge family Easter egg hunt (grown-ups included) with great prizes….and definitely lots of discussion as to the importance of the day!
Growing up, the family always traveled to see one another. My grandmother always made a coconut cake. She would dye the coconut green and make it grass for the cake and have jelly beans all over it to make it look like the yard on Easter morning.

My favorite easter tradition are the egg hunts. As soon as we finish going through the easter basket it is time to head outside to gather eggs. I also love decorating hard boiled eggs as a family.

I am staring one with my daughter. There is an egg farm here and they do a massive egg hunt every year!!! This will be our second year and she LOVES going!!!

I also heard a story where they kids plant Jelly Beans and check back to see what grows. One day the parents put out easter treats in the flower garden where the jelly beans were planted.
We go every year to visit the bunnies that they have at Phillips Toy Mart. They have a different theme for the bunnies homes each year & I always look forward to going.

Every Easter Sunday, our kids come downstairs to find their Easter baskets–just a few goodies, no eggs! Then we go to church and after church we have an Easter egg hunt on our front lawn. All that is followed by a yummy Easter dinner with friends.

A favorite family tradition growing up was dying Easter eggs together as a family.
We always dye Easter eggs together. So much fun! We also make cards for everyone using recycled paper, scrap paper, crayons and tissue paper we've saved from Christmas. These are all great for creating colorful Easter eggs on the cards :)
My favorite Easter tradition is Sunrise Service. Our church has a cemetery right beside the church. We all gather in the driveway, have a service, and then go into the fellowship hall for breakfast. I always think of the friends and family that have gone on and what a celebration the next resurrection will be!!

This year we're starting a new family tradition. Since last Easter, my husband, myself, and our two little boys have moved twice with the Marine Corp. With the rising gas prices we will not be able to go home to be with our family for our usual dinner and Easter egg hunt. This year we have decided to start our own tradition and make a huge dinner and invite other Marines over that are without their families as well. I cant wait! We have 4 guys coming already and more are sure to follow! Happy Easter everyone!!

My favorite tradition, was getting ready for church, we always got a new Easter Dress bc we were told to look our absolute best for Christ when we go to worship him. We also were taught to always give God our best so the new clothes went along with that.

Easters are always lovely at Mom & Dad's. All the family gathers for Sunday School and then off to Grandma's for the traditional “Easter Photo Shoot,” a delicious dinner and then the all important Easter Egg Hunt. I'm never too old for this!

Coloring Easter eggs is a must family project. Every year we all have to be the one who has an original Easter egg design (something we all secretly plan all year long). This tradition is also done at Christmas with cookies. But mostly it is great family time together.

My dad would always hide those individually wrapped candy eggs around the house and we would have our own little easter egg hunt. When we would get close to an egg he would say, “you're getting hot” and if we went the wrong way “you're getting cold now”. When we would get really close but still not see the egg he would say, “you're burning up, you're so hot you're on fire!” I can't wait for my dad to do this with my kids now that they are getting old enough (4 & 2).
I have baskets fixed for my three children waiting on the kitchen table so when they get up, they have a surprise. We have a special breakfast, usually pancakes, then go to church. We used to go to my parents for lunch after church, but my dad passed away in July and my mom hasn't felt like having company or cooking so I'm guessing I'll be handling that this year. Would love to have the Hallmark basket of goodies to brighten up the day this year!

Our daughter is now 3 and most holidays revolve around here. :) I so enjoy making her Easter basket and decorating with her. I am truly looking forward to this Easter when we have our egg hunt and she gets her basket. While that stuff is fun, I also want her to understand the true meaning. :)
I love that we get up and go to church; praising Christ for what He has done for us. Then we come home and have lunch with all our extended family. We play games and hide eggs. It's loads of fun!!

My oldest child was born on Easter in 2003 so each Easter since then we watch videos of him as a baby and we sing “peter cotton tail” at the top of our lungs just like I do on the video from my c-section. Crazy I know, but it gives us a chance to talk about the rebirth that Easter symbolizes.
At most holidays, my boys put on their aprons to help me make cookies and decorate them. These are some of my fondest memories! My boys would love these prizes!

My favorite tradition at Easter is doing an egg hunt with my entire family. We won't be able to do it this year with such a late Easter but we will pick it up again next year. We all live far apart and got together this week. But I will do a hunt with all our friends.
I love getting together with all our family for one but we also have resurrection eggs that we do prior to easter and then Easter morning we eat a special breakfast of Overnight Baked French Toast.
Our Easter tradition is going to the church where my Uncle is the pastor, listening to his service, then having lunch and an egg hunt with all our extended family. We all get dressed up and go to my parents church. All of my brothers and their children are there and we spend the rest of the day together.
First we attend church as a family, have a nice meal together afterwards, then do a small egg hunt. But, this year, we will be celebrating the grandparents' 50th Wedding Anniversary w/the entire family (all at home, b/c it is Sunday). It'll be a massive egg hunt this year w/32 grandchildren participating.

My favorite Easter Tradition is after a nice ham dinner all the kids go looking for plastic eggs filled with coins throughout the house (never know if it's going to rain here in florida so we always plan it inside). There are always over 300 plastic eggs which we reuse every year. Everyone has exactly 10 minutes to find as many eggs as they can . They then empty their Loot into a coffee can for us to count. The person with the most money Gets the Biggest Basket and it goes down in size but every child gets a nicely filled Easter Basket done by moi! They also get to keep the “loot”. Our home is about 3000 sq ft and nothing is off limits (with the exception of the tops of shelves as it's where every child can reach). All the baskets have coloring books, crayons, a craft kit that's age appropriate, and the exact amount of candy.Only difference is the size of the stuffed animal. And the kids love this tradition. Even my older kids love it!: )
Taking kids to Grandma's after church for family lunch, followed by egg hunt. My 2 children with Grandma, Great Grandma, Great Grandpa, Great Aunt and 2 Great Uncles. The grown ups love it more than the kids. And you really should have the person who hid the eggs present.
We get up early and eat multi-colored scrambled eggs. After church we get together with extended family and have lunch and an Easter egg hunt. It is an entire day of family fun and love. We have great grandparents and great aunts and uncles around that love joining in on the fun.

My favorite past time tradition was having my entire family..adults and all get together and dye the eggs and going to chuch easter morning and then coming home to hunt the eggs and eating. There was always 1 missing egg that was found closer to summer when the grass would get mowed :)
My favorite family Easter tradition is our “white shoe contest.” With all of the extended family gathered, Grandma checks everyone's shoes. The person with the whitest shoes gets an extra large chocolate bunny and the person with the dirtiest gets some shoe shine! Our family has repeat “offenders” that must have a dozen bottles of shoe shine sitting around! It's a fun way to tease each other and make sure that we look squeaky clean for church!
Dinner at my grandmothers! She turns 92 this year and is still cooking for us all and loves every minute of it! It is a wonderful time just to hang out and enjoy family!

One of the most treasured traditions we have as a family is celebrating the Ressurection of our Lord Jesus Christ. He is Risen as He said. Then we have dinner with some of our extended family.
Egg Salad sandwiches. Sounds simple enough but as a kid I was always so excited to make it after our Easter egg hunt. I can't wait to start it with my son this year (Now that he can eat a sandwich).

My Favorite Easter Tradition is our Family Dinner and Egg Hunt. We all get together cook as much as we can the day before. The adults stuff the eggs with money and prizes. You should see the look on the boy's faces when they find rings or necklaces the girls don't seem to mind finding army men or animals in their eggs. It is so much enjoyment to see everyone together.

One of my favorite Easter traditions is something we have just started over the last few years since my nieces and nephew have gotten older. On the Saturday before Easter my niece and nephew come over and we dye 3 dozen eggs. Then on Sunday my grandparents, parents, sister and her kids all come over and we hunt the eggs in the back yard. It funny to watch the kids hunt eggs and my dogs try to take them from them. I look forward to this year my youngest niece (17 months) getting involved and hunting the eggs.
Our favorite traditon starts off by attending sunrise service to celebrate the true meaning of Easter.Followed by a family dinner and then with the kids hunting easter eggs with prizes.Then just sitting around and enjoying special time with the family,which seems like there is never enought time to do anymore.Life seems to be so busy now adays,and we dont seem to stop and enjoy the special and most precious things in life as much as we would like.So spending time with the family means alot to me,and with the story books that are recordable,would add something very special to Easter,a memory that would last forever,for the grandbaby,when one day Im not around..Hope everyone has a very Blessed Eater,and remember to share some qualkity time with the ones you love..Happy Easter!!

My favorite Easter Tradition is watching the kids hunt Easter Eggs at the church Easter Egg hunt each year.
Growing up, we went camping every Easter and were always so impressed that the Easter bunny knew where we were camping to leave us goodies! My mom was one impressive lady. :)
We of course do the whole egg hunt thing but we also have a tradition of my Dad buying a bunny cake every year. He goes to a grocery store and gets the one shaped like a bunny, covered in coconut and it has jelly bean eyes and nose.
Last year I started a tradition with my kids where we got a huge marshmellow and wrapped it in bread dough. We sprinkled some cinnamon and sugar on top. The marshmellow was Jesus dying for our sins and being placed in the tomb. We cooked it. When it was done we cut into it and Jesus was gone from the tomb. Left for us was a sweet snack reminding us of the sweetness of the Holy Spirit that was given to us.
My favorite tradition is decorating easter eggs with my son and seeing what the Easter Bunny brought him on Easter morning.
My boys and I make Resurection cookies Sat. pm before Easter. While making the cookies we read the bible and taste the vinegar Jesus drank. We beat the ingredients with wooden spoons to show the pain Jesus felt. Once we are done we put them in the oven and tape the door shut. In the morning the first thing we do is run to the oven to see our cookies. We them give them out at the sunrise service at church.
Easter is one of my kids favorite holidays. We have the whole family over for a big lunch and then the adults hide the Easter eggs and all the kids run out of the house at one time to got hunt.
We always pull out the Easter books for the month of April and I would love to send a book to my neice and nephew since we will not be able to get together this Easter…gas prices too high to drive 12 hours.

a favorite easter tradition in our family is to get up on easter morning to find our gift baskets, go to sunrise service at church and then we all head to grandmommy's for a easter egg hunt and traditional Greek dinner. My husbands dad was stationed in Greece during the kids early years, so his family makes the easter dinner that they ate in Greece after going to service on hill across from the acropolis.
On Saturday before Easter our church does an egg hunt and games. Then on Sunday morning, go to church and the kids get to go to big “church” they love it. Then everyone goes to lunch.
Well we are a new family, married for just over a year now with a little one! So we get to start fresh with traditions and continue some cherrished traditions as well. This year, we'll be setting out our LO's easter basket which will contain Hershey's kisses (for mommy and daddy, of course) and a disney movie. We'll also be hanging colorful eggs in the tree in the yard for LO. We'll also be reading the easter story on easter morning and going to Sunrise service at our church! It's going to be a great Easter!
The Easter Bunny hides all of the baskets for the kids to find them and also hides all of the filled easter eggs. He also leaves behind baby powder footprints leading up to the house and on the front steps. The kids love it! We then have a big easter sunday breakfast and head over to our extended familys house for a get together as we dont get to see each other very often. It is a pleasant and wonderful reminder of the reason for family.

My favorite Easter tradition was seeing what new stuffed Easter Bunny me and my sister would get. When I was eight I ended up with a white one before Easter Sunday, if you pressed its ear you would hear a song. My favorite Aunt unfortunately died while I was with her the day before that Easter. The stuffed rabbit is 20yrs old same batteries and everything and plays just like new. I like spending time with my sister now talking about all the stuffed bunnies we had, it brings us closer remembering those times.
Our favorite tradition is having the whole family over for lunch and hiding Easter eggs for the children. Last year I bought water guns and had a blast (literally with the whole family). I bought another package for this year. Can't wait!
My favorite tradition is my entire family getting together at my moms. The women cook while the men assist the little ones with the never ending easter egg hunt. Once they find all the eggs they are hid again! The little ones sleep the whole way home!

My favorite Easter tradition is spending the day with our family…..all aunts, uncles, sisters, brothers, cousins (everyone) meets at my parents house for a wonderful Easter lunch/dinner. The kids have their egg hunt and the adults also have one. Great fun and memories.
After the Sunday service, my family would attend the Easter program to listen to all of us children recite our Easter speeches that we had practiced memorizing for weeks. After the program we would get together with the extended family for a wonderful Easter meal. The day left everyone full literally and spiritually. Now that I have a family of my own the church I attend doesn't have an Easter program but I have my girls learn a “Easter speech” so they understand the true meaning of the day.

I favorite part of Easter was always doing to church and lunch at my grandmothers after. When we were young we would Easter egg hunt with all the cousins and as we all got older we would play volleyball or soccer after lunch. This will be the first year that we will all be going to my grandmother's as parents instead of children. I can't wait to see my children Easter egg hunt with all the cousins. Easter is an intimate family gathering with a big feast, hidden Easter baskets around the house, and stories about how Christ died for us and rose again on Easter Sunday.
I enjoyed this as a child, I love it even more when my daughter was able to take part in it to…..DYING EGGS>>>making them all different colors….i loove it when we can get creative.
Resurrection eggs
Easter baskets are “in” in my house. As the kids got older, we replaced treats with clothes, sports items, etc., with just one treat that they love (for my husband it's jordan almonds, for example). My kids are 18 and 28, and they still get their baskets!!!

Every Easter we take a trip to the lake. When I was a kid we would dye eggs the night before and the Easter Bunny would hide them for us to find when we woke up Easter morning. We have kept our Easter tradition for my son who loves getting to go to the lake for Easter.

Every Easter we color eggs the day before with our children, (since we are so scattered since we have grown), then hide plastic eggs the day of Easter over and over and over again until we are all tired, but we always hide something special in one of the eggs each time to entice them to find the eggs. This also helps get them up and moving, event the older ones.
Growing up we always woke up to an easter egg hunt around our house. After sorting out our loot and going through our baskets we would always go to church. My father was in the Army, so we moved around a lot. Now that I have my own family, I've carried on the tradition of having my kids start their day with an easter egg hunt, baskets and church. Sometimes we visit a friends house where dyed eggs are filled with confetti and smashed over heads, or we'll go to my husband's aunt's house where all the kids run through a field littered with eggs. Whatever we do, we do it together. We are family and celebrate this day as such.

Easter Egg hunt with math problems or riddles! When my kids began to add, we would put a math problem instead of their name on their eggs that adds up to their age. The math gets harder as they get older but always equals to their age! Now, we are doing riddles that have an answer that identify them (the first letter of your name is the same as the first letter of the capitol of Tennessee). This makes the hunt last longer and keeps the bigger kids from running over and dominating the little kids!

Our favorite Easter tradition is to attend sunrise service together, have brunch and attend church services where the kids have an easter egg hunt, everyone brings chocolate to share as the kids parade around with the baskets wearing the best dresses and bonnets. But this year with a new granddaughter, not sure what is going to happen! Might be a new trandition started!
My favorite Easter tradition from when I was kid was when my father would hide our Easter baskets and it was a scavenger hunt to find them. He would cut out “Easter Bunny” paw prints and write clues, inspirational comments or Bible verses on each one. Each kid would have a different color of paw prints to follow around the house until we found our basket. It always felt like Christmas to me and my brothers because we would wake up early in order to follow our bunny path!
First thing in the morning, we will hide eggs all over the garden for the kids to find as soon as they wake up.

We bake a cake the night of Good Friday and then decorate it to say
“Happy Birthday Jesus” (including candles!) right after church on Easter morning.
Every Easter I get to together with my sister and her daughters and we have a big brunch, attend the neighborhood easter hunt and then have a easter egg hunt of our own. The 3 girls have so much fun and I have to say thanks to all you have done with this website I am able to fill the eggs with great gifts on a small budget.

When I was growing up we would spend the Saturday before Easter dying eggs and preparing the Easter meal. On Sunday morning we would wake before the sun to head out for sunrise service at church, come home, explore those Easter baskets and then head back out for Easter service. After church the entire family would get together for the big feast celebrating what Jesus did for us. I continue this today with my children in hopes of making memories and tradtions to pass down to their children one day.

My favorite Easter tradition including egg hunts was eating the wonderful feast on Easter Sunday.
Since I am a nurse & my husband a fire fighter, it is impossible to have every Easter off together. We do whatever we can to make sure our girls know the true meaning of Easter by reading stories or going to Sunrise Service/church. We then gather with our families, sometimes late in the evening or even at the station to enjoy food & fellowship. The girls love to dye easter eggs & hunt for them as well!

We color hard boiled eggs as a family the Saturday before Easter! We always have an Easter egg hunt Easter morning. My family did it when I was a child and now I do it with my family.

Coloring eggs and hunting for them together…I've got to share this. One year when I was a little girl, the weather was horrible on Easter and I decided to hide the eggs (real eggs) inside. I didn't realize until it was too late that my dog was following behind me eating them as I hid them. He didn't eat all of them, but it was a sad Easter egg hunt.
Easter has been one of my mother's favorite holidays. She loves getting the family together and hiding eggs for her grandchildren. We also HAVE to dye at least 6 or 7 eggs each year, even though she usually just makes deviled eggs out of them. This will be my son's first Easter, and I cannot wait to share in our traditions with him!
We have pancakes cut out with different Easter cookie cutters every Easter morning!
My favorite would be going to Easter church service all dressed up. We do this thing at church every year (since I was 5….26 years) Where the pastor says” He is risen” and we say “He is risen indeed” over and over louder each time, until you are shouting at the top of your lungs.
The best was being outside with family. Whether is was Easter egg hunts or just hide-and-go-seek, it was always special when we were all together!

I love my daughters expression when they find their Easter basket and see everything they got. Even when times are tough it is always nice to see a smile on a Childs face and know that things are going to just fine. That the Lord is in control.

Growing up, my family would wake before the sun would rise. We would find an Easter outfit waiting for my brother and I that we would put on for church that day. We would then head to church where they had a Sunrise Service. I loved it because you could hear the birds sing and watch the sun rise as the Preacher told of the story of Jesus's resurrection! After the service, we would eat a breakfast with our church family and then head home where our extended family would gather together for a meal!

My absolute favorite family Easter tradition is going to the sunrise service at our church.

We have a family picnic outside of my mother's southern home with wide porches and a beautiful garden setting. That is of course after Easter Sunrise Service, church breakfast, and 10:00 Easter Service. Busy day!

Growing up I always loved getting a new easter dress and getting to wear it on Easter to church. Now I get to do that with my daughter. When I was young, we always went to the Sunrise Service at church which started at 7:00a.m. It always seemed really early, but I loved singing “Christ the Lord Has Risen Today” as the sun was coming up.

We do the typical Easter egg hunt, but I really regret that we haven't put more emphasis on the Christian meaning of Easter. Why on Earth did we allow all these nonsensical traditions to take over Christian holidays?
Both sets of our extended families come to our house, we go to church together, and go out to lunch. It is nice to get everyone together and not have to feel pulled to go to only one family or travel the whole day going to both places.
We don't have any as our family is blended and my step-daughters aren't always with us for Easter, but my friend from high school wrote a book that I think we will start following and make a tradition. The book is Bigger than the Bunny. It's great!! (Book by Tasha Via)
We always go to Grandma's and Papa's for a huge family meal followed by an easter egg hunt. With 12 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews it is a crazy fun time for the kids and adults!

First it is my and my husband job to hide the girls baskets in the house somewhere. When they first get up they have to search to find only thier own basket. If they find their sisters they have to leave it and keep looking. They love this. It is usually better than Christmas because they have to work for their prize. After that we start out the day with sunrise service at our church. The girls are all in their PJ's and everyone looks tired. Then we stay for breakfast with the congregation. After we fill our tummy's we go home get four girls in their new Easter or as we call it “Resurrection” Sunday dresses (which is no small task) and head back to church to celebrate. We go through the reason for the day and why we are so blessed and thankful.

We're still working out our Easter traditions. But we're inviting a bunch of people to come for brunch after church, and we will have an egg hunt for the little ones. Should be fun!

My favorite I think is the basket, not from a bunny, but from us as parents. We fill it with things to help our kids grow spiritually. Making them is about as fun as watching them open them after church Easter day.
We read the Jesus Storybook Bible version of Jesus' sacrifice on our behalf and then the story of Him rising back to life!

We have lots of traditions. my kids are grown now but I will continue them with my grandkids and adopted daughter. We have indoor and outdoor egg hunts with a special egg for a big prize. we invite oour family and friends to participate. We also color eggs, write the receiptients name on them and give them away. We also have the exact menu every year. We also hide the same easter baskets on Easter morning which have a special gift in them. But mosy importantly, we talk about Jesus – his death and resurrection! Little children can understand that the candy and bunnt aspects are just fun and make believe but Easter is Jesus!

My family tradition is to hide Easter eggs around the house and let my kids find them. They love hunting for Easter eggs and we love watching them do it. The first few times are always fun as the kids are trying to figure out what exactly to do with them.
Instead of hiding eggs my father would hide candy all over the livingroom. It was so much fun and now I also do that for my daughters. There is nothing like the first time you try to put cady on a ceiling fan.
Not only does the Easter Bunny hide the basket in the yard, but inside every basket is hidden a cross to remind the kids of the true purpose of Easter and the ultimate sacrifice that was made so that we may live.
We always start the day off with sunrise service.. .reminded that “Up from the grave He arose”. Later that day we have our family over for lunch and afterwards we hide Easter eggs for the kids and then they hide them for us. :) Times to treasure.

We go to the front of our church and take a picture of the children in front of a vine cross that is covered in flowers. Church members bring flowers all morning to fill the cross. The we have many Easter egg hunts after lunch.
My favorite tradition was going to my Grandparents for Easter as a child. Now that they are gone and we live away from family my favorite tradition is a day as a family and like Thanksgiving a great dinner as we talk about the year so far and all that we are thankful for.
My family first and foremost goes to chuch on Easter Sunday to celebrate Jesus' ressurection! Then we go to my mother's house for dinner and play with my boys' treats that she gives them. It's a wonderful day.

We look for Easter eggs all the way to the front yard and up the steps to the front door where the Easter bunny has left baskets for everyone.

We always make “empty tombs”…cinnamon-covered biscuits with marshmallows inside. When you bake them the marshmallow disappears leaving an “empty tomb”! So yummy!
The best Easter tradition is the sunrise service at our church. it is truly at sunrise and nobody is dressed up some folks have barely brushed thier hair but half the church is there to watch the dawning of a new day and worship together. Then there is the mad rush to grab breakfast, get home and dressed and back to church in time for Sunday school.

Since I was small, the saturday night before Easter my whole family has gotten together to dye dozens of Easter eggs. Now that we are all grown we still do it, but we bring our kids now. So between my siblings we have 7 kids all dying eggs together and they love it! So much fun.

Though my children are getting older, we still have the Easter Bunny and he hides each of them 5 plastic eggs (5 each/blue and green) in the house for Easter morning. We also prefer going to the earlier Easter church service to allow visitors and guests more space for the 11:00 service.

My parents and I lived on a lake and one year the Easter Bunny left me a duck for Easter, when it was old enough we turned it loose on the lake. Every year after that the first thing we would do is go to the pier and feed the ducks.

Every Ash Wednesday, mi children and I get out our Easter books and place them in a basket by their bed. Every night we read 1 or 2 books. They love doing this! We only read Easter books during lent before bed, but we read other books during the day.

Saturday was a huge day just getting ready for this incredible celebration. My sister & I always got a frilly new dress, fancy socks, shoes, gloves, purse, hat/hairbow. My brothers got a new suit, shoes, shirt & tie. Mom would curl my hair and my sister's. Easter Sunday we got up early to find our easter baskets that Mom and Dad partially filled with special candies and then we would go outside all dressed for Sunday School for an Easter egg hunt so that Dad could film us in our pretty outfits. Then we were off to Sunday School to learn about the the resurrection of Jesus. My husband and I carried on the same tradition with our kids who are adults now. I believe and hope that they will continue this legacy.

We have (several) Easter egg hunts. My little girl still loves doing it (she's 8) . We hide and then re-hide (at least 3-4) times the same eggs –but different locations. It's so much fun watching her smile each time she discovers a hidden egg. :)

Our easter tradition include helping the kids dye eggs, tell the story of Easter & why God gave his son for us, setting the easter baskets out with some carrot treats for the easter bunny & then having all the family together on Easter sunday for a grand dinner.

Growing up we didn't have alot of money, but each year my mother would save up and get us all Easter dresses. In a family of 5 with one income, new clothes were a real treat! Now that I have a 10 month old, my mom continued the tradition and got my daughter a beautiful easter dress.
My mother always made Easter dresses for me and my three sisters when we were growing up. She continued by making dresses for the six granddaughters. Since she now has Alzheimer's, I have continued the tradition by making Easter dresses for my granddaughters. They always love getting a dress that Gigi has made!
I have so many Easter memories that it's hard to pick a favorite, but I'll try to stick to one. I have always had a very close-knit family and we are all very lucky to live close to one another. Every Easter, after we all stuffed our faces with the best of my Grandmother's cooking, my brothers and cousins and I would wait diligently as “the adults” prepared prize Easter eggs and hid them all around my grandparents' yard. At the word “go” we would run joyously around, checking every nook and cranny for those wonderful colored eggs. I looked forward to doing that every year….and still do! The thought of planning an Easter egg hunt just turns me right back into a little kid again!

Growing up my Dad always made Easter special for the girls by getting my mom and my sisters and I a flower coursage. I used to love to look forward to that day because I knew how special it made me feel. We'd go to church showing them off every year.
A favorite Easter tradition… well, I have lots of great memories of each Easter, it's hard to pick one. But if only one- well, it would be last year when my oldest sister came and visited my family and we got up early, got all dressed up for church and took our traditional Easter picture.

Growing up, we always went to Sunrise Service and then a huge egg hunt at my grandparents with all the cousins. I remember trying to race my cousins for the prize egg. It was always interesting because I had cousins of all ages. We have tried to continue the tradition with our son, we now go to my parents and he gets to hunt the eggs with his cousin. The sad part is I had over 50 cousins and he is limited to three.

Our family tradition is getting up a little earlier on Sunday morning to see what the Easter bunny has left. Then we get ready for church. After church we gather for lunch at my great grandmother's home, all the women of the family bring in several dishes. After lunch, we all sit around talking and enjoy the afternoon watching the small kids hide/hunt Easter eggs and “the big kids” play football.
This year before we head to church I hope to add a new tradition. I want to give both of my children a blessing. You read of this in the Bible, but don't hear much of it today. I'd like for them to know and hear out loud our praying for God's blessings to be upon them for their health, strength, wisdom, character and so much more. I think Easter, and the rebirth of all God's creation in the spring will be a great time to add this to our family traditions.

Our tradition included an easter egg hunt in our house with real eggs that we painted with mom. Then we would dig into our huge easter baskets full of goodies! Growing up my mom would make a huge deal out of Easter and it was always one of my favorite holidays. She passed away several years ago and I recently had a baby. I can't wait until he is old enough to continue my mom's Easter traditions!

Every Easter the “Easter Bunny” hides easter eggs outside for the two kids to fill there easter baskets with – A good ol fashion Easter Egg Hunt. Then a family meal together.
We started making colored Easter eggs when I was a kid, but it is only recently that we have taken on a new tradition: Easter egg battles. I read about how the Eastern Orthodox only color their eggs red and then go around tapping each other's eggs to see which one will survive to the next round. This was a perfect addition for a family of little boys!
Our family tradition is the Easter Bunny leaves our children (Sarah and C.J.) their Easter Basket outside the door every Easter Morning. This may sound boring but the catch is, it is kind of tricky for the Easter Bunny to leave the basket because every Easter we take a family trip somewhere on Easter. So the kids really love to see if the Easter Bunny can find them no matter where they are on Easter morning. The best one yet is the Easter Bunny visiting them on our camping trip in the Great Smokey Mt's. What FUN!!! The Easter baskets where left outside our camper door.

My favorite Easter tradition is definitely coloring Easter eggs. We do so many and just love it. We enjoy it so much that we have even done it other times of the year besides easter. The bright and beautiful colors of the eggs always make me smile.

Talking with my family we don't get together as much as we use to so I really enjoy seeing them.
A favorite Easter tradition for my family is going out and getting a larg branch to resemble a small tree. We put the branch into a “tee” and decorate it with easter-eggs. It's are Easter-Egg tree!
So many Easter memories! Growing up, was always the dress. My mom always made me a new dress for easter, I still have them all packed away. Never a frilly girlie, girl, this was the one day should could get me in lace and me be happy about it LOL These days with my own family, and two boys of my own (no little girl to put in frilly dresses :-( ) We love to decorate eggs together. My best friend and I always get together and fill eggs and baskets the night before, that's always a special time for both of us. Then we let the guys watch the kids (SHE has the girlie girl LOL) while we hide eggs and cook dinner. We have the best times together with friends, watching the kids hunt eggs, cooking dinner together, spending time together that we don't get to normally since we both work full time. I treasure any time spent with friends and family. And of course, reminding all the kids what Easter is really about, minus the Easter bunny excitement :-) Hope everyone else has a wonderful time with their friends and family this year! We're really just starting out with Easter traditions as our son is young and we waited 15 yrs for him! When I was young my grandmother used to buy all her grandchildren (all girls) new dresses and shoes and we used to have a big family lunch.

Our favorite Easter tradition is going to the senior center for an egg hunt decked out in our best clothes then having lunch with the seniors.
1st we di ressurection eggs with story. Next we color hard boiled eggs. Easter service Sunday Morning. 'Then we have all sides of families get together for a large brunch and children all show there talents in music. Lots of singing and playing followed by the HUNT.
This tradition I started with my children and now my grandchildren. I hide their easter gift bags. It actually takes the adults longer to find their gifts and the children.
Every Easter we get up early to see what the Easter bunny has brought us! Then after opening gifts all of the family gets together at my moms and we have a huge Easter egg hunt for the kids! We hide 100+ eggs so everyone has a chance to find some!

We color the eggs the night before and that night we leave milk and carrots for the “Easter Bunny” so he will then hide the eggs and leave Easter baskets for the kids in the morning. Easter morning we have an Easter egg hunt. We then go to a huge family cookout and have another Easter egg hunt with all the cousins and whoever finds the huge Golden egg will usually have a suprise inside.
Growing up as a preacher's kid gave me an opportunity to experience all of the religious holidays to the fullest. We get up at 5am to be at church for our Sunrise Service. Then back home until Sunday school and Church time. After Church either our Church or our Family has Easter Egg hunts for the children and a meal for the adults. I cherish each Easter and I love to include my Grandchildren in the festivities and the learning of our Lord's Ressurection. I would love to share the Giveaway with my family.
My family always gets together for a wonderful Easter Sunday dinner. The night before all of the kids get together and color eggs. Now that I have a little one I can wait until she can enjoy the egg coloring too! She doesn't understand it yet but she will!

My family is blessed to have four generations and we love to celebrate Easter by remembering the true meaning and celebrating what Christ has done for us. We take turns telling the younger generations stories from past Easters.
