Get your yard looking festive this year with some super easy DIY pumpkin lanterns! You’ll just need to grab pumpkin pails and solar lights.

Note: Make sure you find solar lights with yard stakes. All lights are built a bit differently, so the way you make your lanterns may look a little different from these instructions

How to Make DIY Pumpkin Lanterns:

1. Remove the handles from the pumpkin pails.

2. Drill a hole in the bottom of the pumpkin that will be big enough to snugly fit the stake from the solar light. Since all lights are different, you’ll need to measure accordingly, making sure that the stake will fit, but be snug enough to keep the pumpkin in place.

3. Hammer the bottom of the yard stake into the ground.

4. Pop the top of the solar light on. You can straighten your pumpkin to make it the height you desire.

5. Make sure you solar lights get enough sunlight during the day. Most solar lights will turn on by themselves at dusk, so the lanterns will work all by themselves!
