After not grocery shopping for over a month, we finally hit the store this week!  It took two buggies (plus a little kids training buggy since the 3 year old insists on using it).  We got everything from toilet paper to milk.  I also went a little crazy with their BOGO roasts this past week.

My taking a month off of shopping meant we had around $180 in the grocery budget to spend today.  We generally spend about $50 per week.  I spent just a tad over budget after mobile apps and SavingStar coupons were added in.

Bi-Lo Totals:

Total Purchase Value: $447.01
Total Spent in store: $191.83
App Coupons Back: $9.50
Total Saving: $264.68 or 59%

So after all the apps we spent $182.  I also got a $3 off coupon for our next purchase from buying (3) packs of Cottonelle toilet paper.

That’s still a lot of money to spend at the grocery store, and if it hadn’t been for our month off we would never have spent that.  Almost $80 of our total was beef roasts.  We do a large Sunday roast every week and try to have people over after church.  This is probably the most expensive meal of the week because of the price of meat.  To get roasts 50% off is a huge long term savings for us!  I might have grabbed 8.  That means $10 per roast verses the full price of $20!!  I’m also very thankful for our outside freezer…
