If you’ve got bananas and chocolate, you can make this yummy treat! You may have seen a product in the grocery store called Banana Dippers: they’re essentially sliced bananas dipped in chocolate. You can make them yourself for a lot cheaper.
This would be a great treat for your kids to help with, too. The older kids can use a butter knife to slice the bananas and pretty much every kid will love playing with (cooled) melted chocolate.
Tip: Use whatever kinds of toppings you’d like. I chose mini M&Ms, but you could sprinkle chopped coconut, nuts, or other candies on top. The peanut butter is optional, too.
Ingredients
- 1 bag chocolate morsels
- 2 bananas, cut into 1/2 inch slices
- peanut butter (optional)
- candies or nuts (optional for topping)
Directions
- Place the chocolate morsels in a microwave safe bowl and heat for 15 seconds. Stir. Repeat until the chocolate is completely smooth and melted. Allow to cool slightly.
- Spread a dollop of peanut butter on top of the banana slices and, using a fork, dip the slices into the melted chocolate. Gently tap the fork to remove excess chocolate from the banana and place on a piece on parchment or wax paper.
- Sprinkle on toppings while chocolate is still soft.
- Allow to harden in the refrigerator. You can store the treats there or in the freezer.
