banana dippers

If you’ve got bananas and chocolate, you can make this yummy treat! You may have seen a product in the grocery store called Banana Dippers: they’re essentially sliced bananas dipped in chocolate. You can make them yourself for a lot cheaper.

This would be a great treat for your kids to help with, too. The older kids can use a butter knife to slice the bananas and pretty much every kid will love playing with (cooled) melted chocolate.

Tip: Use whatever kinds of toppings you’d like. I chose mini M&Ms, but you could sprinkle chopped coconut, nuts, or other candies on top. The peanut butter is optional, too.

Banana Dippers

Ingredients

  • 1 bag chocolate morsels
  • 2 bananas, cut into 1/2 inch slices
  • peanut butter (optional)
  • candies or nuts (optional for topping)

Directions

  1. Place the chocolate morsels in a microwave safe bowl and heat for 15 seconds. Stir. Repeat until the chocolate is completely smooth and melted. Allow to cool slightly.
  2. Spread a dollop of peanut butter on top of the banana slices and, using a fork, dip the slices into the melted chocolate. Gently tap the fork to remove excess chocolate from the banana and place on a piece on parchment or wax paper.
  3. Sprinkle on toppings while chocolate is still soft.
  4. Allow to harden in the refrigerator. You can store the treats there or in the freezer.

If you've got chocolate and bananas, you can make this yummy treat! Banana dippers are easy and fun for kids.
