Most people have goals to save money and lose weight.  One of the common myths is that products with coupons are all unhealthy.  Each week, this list will provide you with some tasty, good-for-you frugal meal and snack ideas based on sales at the grocery store.

Today’s recipes focus on making substitutions for items in recipes based on sale items. For example, the Baja fish tacos call for cherry tomatoes and red cabbage, but vine ripe tomatoes and green cabbage are on sale and work just as beautifully in the recipe. Don’t be afraid to make simple substitutions that save you money without sacrificing flavor.

I think it's awesome you do this. People need to know it's not one way or either. You can use coupons and lose weight. Thanks!

      I just started WW+ !
      And it seems sooooo expensive

I like the free spirit floral bag.

    • Thanks so much Jenny! Just started WW and this is just what I needed!!!

    • Sonya

Sorry if you have answered this somewhere…but are these WW points the NEW Points Plus program? Or the old points system?

You still have to be careful with a lot of canned or processed foods – even whole grains like the whole wheat tortillas. They may be lower calorie or lower in fat but the sodium amounts are still extremely high and very unhealthy. I am finding it very difficult to find low or no sodium items on sale that have coupon match ups. Our grocery bill has gotten higher since I was diagnosed with high blood pressure.
