K-Mart Super Doubles

In my city K-Mart is at it again doubling coupons that are $2 or less.  To see if your area is participating this week go here and look on the front cover of your ad for a big red box about it (image).

A few rules:

  1. 25 coupons per person per day
  2. No internet printables
  3. Can only buy 4 of the same item in each transaction

For a great K-Mart price book with coupon matches check this out!  There are tons of freebies!!

A few things not mentioned in that spreadsheet that I see from this weeks ad:

Post Rasin Bran and other Post Cereals 4 for $10
Get $2 off at checkout wyb (4)
-$1/2 Post Cereals SS 1/25 (buy 4, use 2 coupons makes it $1 per box)

Hershey’s Bagged Candy $3.50 ea
-$2/2 Hershey’s Candy Bags SS 1/25 (makes it $1.50 ea)

Ocean Spray Juice $2.50 ea
-$1 off Ocean Spray Juice All Well & Good Booklet at Publix (makes it .50 cents ea)

Pull Ups Jumbo Packs $10.99
-$2 off Pull Ups SS 2/22 (makes it $6.99)

Scott 12 double or 24 reg Bath Tissue $5.50
-$1 off Scott Extra Soft Bath Tissue RP 2/08 (makes it $3.50**stock up price)

Gillette Hair Care $4.50 ea
-$2 off Gillette Hair Care PG 1/18 (makes it .50 cents)

**On a personal note: I went the last time my store did this and had a horrible experience.  Make small transactions, and have a firm idea of what your total should be.  I don’t know if I am up for it, the link above with all the freebies tempts me but my sour experience will probably keep me home.**

      What city are you in?

    • Lane

I noticed you reference Publix coupons as matches here for the Kroeger deals. Does Kroeger accept competitors’ coupons (like Publix does)?

    • Kristie

I did the Kmart thing today! Spent $37.00 saved $118.00!!

    • Sherry

Jenny, does Kmart take competitor coupons, such as Kroger?

    • Kristi

SO can I use a newspaper coupon for .25 off “chex mix” and the cellfire coupon for .50 off and get 1.50 off? Someone fill me in!!

    • Jenny

Neither K-Mart nor Kroger take competitor coupons. The Ocean Spray coupon above is a manufacturer coupon that was just released in a booklet at Publix. You can use it anywhere!!

Hope that clears up some confusion.

Angela – I am in Columbia SC.

My store isn’t doing this, but you could get the cereal for free if you use the trailmixcrunch.com coupons I referenced in the CVS comments. That is,assuming they carry it. CVS does.

I agree with you on it probably not being worth it at Kmart. I’ve went twice and both times had alot of problems with them not accepting my coupons or not doubling all of them. I’ve had friends have the same problems. One friend called her store before going, was told by a customer service rep that they were doubling coupons. When she went through the line, none of her coupons were doubled. The cashier just shrugged and said “I guess they turned it off”. The customer service team and the assistant manager were not any more helpful.

I have did Kmart the last three times they doubled. However I learned my lesson the first time after having some coupons not double and customer service tell me basically oh well. The next two times I did small transactions and gave them my coupons with the items. The cashier did not like that, but it helped every thing move smoother. I will probably swing by there on my way to work tomorrow, but the last two times I noticed the shelfs were looking pretty empty.

    • I’ve gone the last two times my Kmart has done the doubling. It wasn’t the best experience – like others said, they are not the most helpful when it comes to coupon problems. One of the things that I have started to do though is make a list of the price of the item after the discount. I have a pad of paper that I keep track on then I use my calculator to add up the purchase before I get to the check-out. It’s a little more work but to get things for free is worth it :)

I completely agree. I am in SC as well and have gone the last 2 times and had a HORRIBLE experience. It is true you have to break it up into small transactions and basically help the cashier. They have never once been friendly or helpful and no, the customer service/ managers are not much better. I have opted to sit this one out. Too much trouble:(

Jenny ,the last two times I have gone to the K-mart in Cayce and they were wonderful!Did not have any problems with coupons not doubling .I have also used the one in Lexington and did not have a problem.I went last night to the one in Cayce and got lots free!!!
Making another list of stuff I forgot!

    • Anyone know if they will be doing this in GA or if they already are at certain locations? I know the lil Kmart in our town isn’t.

    • Christina

I have been to the one in Lexington SC before (2x) during this special and it was a disaster. I did however get tons of stuff but it is a lot of headache. You definatley have to watch your prices on this one b/c they will charge you more than what you owe. Pen/Pad works the best. Good Luck if you go!

Hi Jenny. I’m in Columbia as well. I’m trying to find the All Well & Good Booklet at Publix. I went to the one on Trenholm Rd, but am having no luck. Do you know which store I can find this booklet in? Where in the store to find it? Exactly what to ask for? I’m really want to try to use the $1/Ocean Spray coupon.

      Thanks in advance,

    • Crista

K-mart’s customer service and store in general is always horrible, no matter where you go, when you go, o why you go…it’s not just when using coupons. I found that my K-mart is doing this, but haven’ decided yet if I am up for it! LOL

It’s like they train their employees nationwide to be rude and dumb and unhelpful! It’s no wonder the company is in so much trouble (long before all companies started having difficulty) and my only amazement is that they are still in business at all! Ours NEVER seems to have any cars in the parking lot.

      Good luck to everyone!

I have done the KMART Doubles three times now and have had little problem. The best thing I have found to do is first make sure that the items on sell ring up at their sales price. (pad of paper works well for keeping track of it all). Then after they have scanned all your items hand over your coupons. (it would be easier to hand them the coupons as they scan the items, but I have never been allowed to do this). Make sure that each coupon scans at the appropriate value, and then check to make sure that a credit is issued for the double immidiatly after. So if you have a $1.00 coupon it should ring up as $1.00 off and then below that it should take another $1.00 off. I have noticed that sometimes it will ring the first $1.00 off, and then not the $1.00 beneath it. Check every coupon as it is scanned, and question them as soon as it is scanned if the second double is not applied. Occasionaly, if you have bought multiple items from a same brand, a screen will pop up asking the teller which item your coupon applies to. Make sure that they take time to actually apply the coupon to the right item. Since, Kmart does not issue overage, you do not want them applying your $2.00 coupon to a $3.00 item, instead of a $4.00 item; and then applying your $1.00 coupon to the $4.00 item. You will be losing out. (although don’t even attempt to explain that to a cashier.) With a little patiance there are great deals to be had!! Good Luck!!

I found the All Well & Good Booklet at the Harbison Publix a few weeks ago. I don’t know if they will have any more but it was right near the front door.

Hi all! I checked out the K-mart thing for the FIRST TIME YESTERDAY. Ugh!!! I had a horrible experience. All of my double coupons worked like a charm, NONE OF MY TRIPPLES WORKED. I had a $.75 off coupon for Kotex, and it took off $.75, and then took off $.54 for the “tripple” (??what’s up with that??), along with SEVERAL other coupon items like this. I didn’t notice this until I got home. I am going back over there today and hopefully I’ll get it resolved. I should have taken Jenny’s advice – MAKE SURE YOU KNOW WHAT YOU’RE SUPPOSED TO SPEND WHEN YOU GO TO CHECK OUT. I’ve been doing coupons for a little while now, and I guess I still have LOTS TO LEARN!

    • Amy Beaird

Kmart isn’t tripling coupons at most stores. It has been part of the promotion at certain stores from time to time. Doubles go through this Sat. 2/28. One thing that makes this sweeter is that you can combine it with a $5/50 coupon if you sign up for their email list. You just give that coupon first as long as your total is over $50, they take the $5 off and then all the other coupons. Good way to get “almost” free items actually free :).
