Just another reason, I only use Kroger for double fuel points. Not worth it anymore!

    • Georgianna

Only two coupons per customer?! That’s ridiculous!

    • Me

May be limited….or they may not…or they may be rejected….wow that wasn’t even remotely useful Kroger. I haven’t shopped that much in Kroger since they stopped doubling. I only go there for their milk. My kids will only drink their milk (strange huh?). I only use printable coupons, I found that even though I don’t save as much (like 10% less) I don’t have that paper clutter from never using them. I print them as I need them. Why don’t they put a sign out front that says, “We don’t like couponers….we are trying to model Walmart.”

      • Leslie

Funny about the milk, we only drink their chocolate milk no other brand comes near it. The only thing I’ve bought there in 6 months!

        • Me

That is funny, we tried Target milk once and they said it tasted like grass. Since they said that, that is all I can taste in it too! LOL!

Thank goodness! This policy has been on display at my Kroger for awhile. And I don’t have an issue with it because I got tired of empty shelves and rainchecks due to the coupon “hoarders.” I still prefer Publix (shop there weekly), but Kroger is almost at my back door so for convenience sake this policy makes me happy. :)

I had one cashier a while a ago tell me the 2 printed coupon thing. I didn’t really have a lot of the same items either. So they did accept my coupons but said that was there policy just so I know. I am guessing this is there way to finalize it and finally put it in print. It might just depend on the cashier. I haven’t been going to Kroger much since they stopped doubling. I love Publix because they have great customer service and are very coupon friendly. I think this just makes me not want to go to Kroger at all anymore. I don’t think its worth the trip if they might only accept 2 printed coupons.

    • Leslie

Exactly why I stopped going there 6 months ago. Its not worth dealing with non-coupon friendly cashiers or customer service!

    • Alisha

Wait, is it literally saying only one internet coupon per customer or is limiting multiple internet coupons on the same item?

      • Me

No, no….1 on the same item…. 2 total per customer per day….if the cashier is feeling frisky you might sneak more then 2 by

    • Maria J

I wish they would clarify the “face value” statement, because to me face value would mean if a coupon is $1 and the item is .89c then the .11 overage should go to the rest of your total, but lately the machines beep and they try to change the amount of your coupon.

      • Robin L.

Kroger will NOT give ANY overage.. if you have a coupon for a dollar off and the item is 0.89.. the cashier will only allow 0.89 off that coupon.

    • stephanie

Jenny why do you even bother with Kroger if we can’t use any coupons1

      • pdnr

Stephanie, that’s the only store or closest store for lots of people to shop. Also, they do have some great deals every once in a while. I shop there once or twice a month to grab a few great deals and use my two internet coupons but do most of my shopping at Publix. I appreciate Jenny posting the deals at Kroger for us.

Who says we cant use coupons? Lets pretend that there is a mega sale, buy 5 get $5.00 on poptarts at $1.99 each. We also have a $1/2 coupon. We could buy 5 get $5 off, use 2 of the $1/2 coupons and get 5 boxes of poptarts for $2.95 thats roughly $.59 each. What it means is no more than one like coupons PER ITEM. Hth!

    • Robin L.

I Stopped shopping at Kroger when they stopped doubling coupons… but I also want to point out in the new coupon policy of Kroger if the coupon don’t scan properly they will now decline it instead of keying it in…. I have had issues with this before using generic printer ink.. when the coupon was in fact a perfectly good and valid coupon, and I pointed out that they could call and verify the coupon authenticity with the unique number code… it made no difference bottom line… if it didn’t scan they declined it.. Period…. Kroger and Wal-Mart are beginning to be so much alike on their unfriendly coupon policy… Not worth the hassle anymore to shop there…

I used to go to Kroger a lot more before the coupon doubling stopped. They also during the week marked all their freshly made Deli items at 50% off after 7:30 pm which made it worthwhile. I was informed just last week that they no longer do the markdown in the Deli. I guess they would rather throw away the food than help folks who are tight cash wise have a good affordable meal. So, they can keep their “New Lower Prices” and pitiful service and sales and I’ll shop at Publix or Aldi!

    • Stephanie Lincecum

They’ve been pushing their digital coupons a lot, recently. This must be why.

      • Me

Did you notice they allow 5 like coupons on some of their digital…seems a little unfair if you ask me.

    • Dot

I do no go to Kroger nearly as often since they stopped double coupons. So sad. Hope they reconsider.

    • allie

The only thing left good @ The Kroger besides the fuel rewards are the new digital coupons that say can be used 5 times in the same transaction. My Kroger will take that and a paper coupon. This was new for me today when I tried it. I was pretty excited. I will be more aware of those C’s and make sure I use them when I also have a paper C.

The “up to five like per day” has long been four at my Kroger. Even then, it depends on which cashier you get. Kroger has disappointed me so much regarding coupons this past 6 months. :( I’m shopping more at Publix for non-coupon stuff now too.

    • gabrielamoralesperez

over a year ago I was told at one kroger that it was Total of of only 2 internet coupons for the whole transaction- at the other stores it was 2 per item. Now with the one per item, it makes it really difficult to do their mega-sales. If you want five of one item and you can only buy one. It’s really screwed up that they “make” you buy in multipes but don’t take coupons in multiples. I hate their mega sales anyway- it’s so annoying trying to add your purchase up by amount and with the coupons. I have noticed since they stopped doubling they are sending me more personalized coupons and coupon booklets than before. I go in there for the free coupon stuff they send me. I buy the marked down bread. I rarely shop there anymore. They are so much nicer at Publix. I thought they both doubled coupons to compete! I hope they start to feel it. I would go in there for the double coupon deals, the free soap and toothpaste and then pick up my meat and produce while there. Now it just isn’t worth it. Half the time I don’t even read the ad. This new policy just stinks and makes it even worse. The mega sales when you can only use one but have to buy five and some coupons are buy 2- it gets crazy to figure it all up gives me a giant headache

My Kroger doubles thru 50, cents, has no limit on how many coupons it will take overall, allows the overage on coupons to apply to the total , types in the coupon no. if the coupon fails to scan. I love my Kroger!!

      • Carol

What state or area are you in? In Covington GA they do not double. They told me just the other day the picture on the coupon was not the same as product I was purchasing. Wow its bad when the cashier don’t read on any Kelloggs product. She looks at the pictures.
