Just a heads up:

Starting Sunday 6/7, at Staples you can get a ream (500 pages) of Hammermill printer paper for $1 after easy rebate.  Limit 2 rebates per household.

They also have Staples brand Photo Paper 50 packs, for $1 after easy rebate.

how does the easy rebate work?

    • Jenny, First of all I really enjoyed your coupon workshop last night!! I thought I might not learn anything I did not already know but I did and it was wonderful! Thanks!

My question for you is, have you or anyone else ever had any problems with the Staples easy rebates? A long time ago, I bought a printer from them using the easy share rebate and I passed up a cheaper model for the one I bought because after the rebate it would be cheaper. I checked, double checked, and rechecked EVERYTHING To make sure I had all my ducks in a row. I mailed it in and they refused to give me my money back. I lost $50 on that printer. I called and complained (nicely) and I took pictures of the box that still had the item # on it. I offered to do ANYTHING short of sending them the printer for them to look at, and they would not give me the money back. They kept saying it was the wrong one even though they could not tell me what was wrong about it (cuz they even admitted that all the #s matched)! Needless to say, I have never done another “easy” rebate from there. So, what is the consensus?? Has anyone else had problems with them or am I the only one?? I’m willing to give them another chance as long as I know this is not the norm. Thanks!

I’ve also had issues with Staples rebates. I ALWAYS keep a copy of things I snail mail in. I had luck recently when I bought a printer and they were offering $50 if you recycled an old printer. I put my information in online, and they rejected it. I called Staples, and told them everything was correct, and she said that it looked like someone marked it as missing something, but she saw everything there. She then pushed it back through and said everything was fine. It all depends on who you talk to, I guess.

I did the EASY rebate on paper a couple of months ago and entered the info online and got a check in the mail in a few weeks. Yes, EASY

    • Thank you! Thank you! All the good printable coupons lately have depleted my paper supply, and I was wondering how much longer I could wait for a good deal to come around!

I have talked to several people that have done the so called easy rebate. I am sure some people do get their rebates no problem, but the norm seems to be that Staples has a bad rep for rejecting perfectly good rebates. Personally I think it is a little fishy that more often than not, they reject these rebates for one reason or another. When I realized how many people had been getting messed over I stopped shopping there. I myself had an item for easy rebate, and they refused mine saying that that particular item that I purchased was not supposed to be on sale and because the store put it on sale, I couldn’t get a rebate for it. What a ridiculous answer!!

How long should you wait before calling to check on rebate sent online?

    • Ashley, I normally do keep copies of everything and that was the one single time that I just forgot about it until after I had mailed it in. I could have KICKED myself for being so stupid!! But I thought at the time, that I’d never had a problem getting my rebates before, so I should be OK.. Boy was I wrong.. Phone calls, emails, and letters to the company and I’m still stuck with a MUCH too expensive printer just because somebody did not know what they were doing. Hmmm… I think I’m too chicken. I want to believe that it was a one time thing, but I just don’t know after reading everyone’s comments! Thanks!

I use Staples Easy Rebates all the time and have never had a problem. I keep all the paper receipts until the checks come. I just got a check today for a rebate I submitted on May 4th. I’ve gotten back more than $50 so far this year, mostly on free or $1 paper, photo paper, and pens. I also do the ink cartridge recycling program- you get $3 for each cartridge you recycle (up to 10 a month)… I use the store credit from that to pay for the rebate items which I later get reimbursed for!! I only buy the stuff on sale…

If they really want to make a rebate easy then they should do something like ECB’s or RR – the only thing easier than that is to hand you cash out of the till!

    • Rosalind

I’m gonna try it… NOW WHERES THE DEAL ON INK?? I’M in need of both lol!

    • jen

not free in s.c. after rebate 1.80

I’m in Greenville and the sale is .99 after rebate. That is what my receipt says and the sale ad. However, the Staples site is not recognizing the rebate number yet =s.
