One of my favorite ways to simplify meal planning and keep food costs low is to schedule breakfast for dinner about once a week. To be honest, actual breakfast for my kids during the week is usually a muffin or cereal bar and some fruit. But when I’m making breakfast for dinner, I’ve got more space to make something a little bit different—like this sausage egg bake.
Easy Sausage Egg Bake Recipe
This sausage egg bake is as simple as it sounds! It has just a few ingredients: sausage, eggs, cheese, and salt and pepper.
The first step is to brown the sausage.
While the sausage is cooking, whisk together all 12 eggs and add your seasonings. If you’re feeling really decadent, you can put in a few splashes of cream or milk as you whisk the eggs, but that’s not even necessary.
To save time, I just use a slotted spoon to put the sausage in a greased baking dish. A little bit of grease will keep it from sticking too badly, anyway.
Then pour the eggs over top.
