Years ago when we were on an extremely tight budget, I found a recipe for falafel and began making it. I don’t remember where the recipe came from, but it wasn’t a good recipe, and I force fed it to my family several times in the name of eating frugally.
Finally, we took a long break from falafel. Then I decided to rework that recipe and make a much better version. One of the things that made it better was actually frying it in a pan. Before, I baked it. While frying isn’t necessarily the healthiest way to eat anything, you don’t really use that much oil, and it makes it SO much more delicious. Trust me; it’s worth it! At least give this easy falafel a try, and let me know how it goes.
Cheap and Easy Falafel Recipe
One of the best parts about this recipe is how frugal it is!
These are all the ingredients you need. Most of them you probably have in your pantry!
The first step is to drain the beans and rinse them off.
Then put all the beans in the food processor. Three cans of beans is about all my 10-cup food processor can take!
Then add the minced garlic, salt, and cumin.
