One of my favorite things to do around Christmas: volunteer at the Operation Christmas Child processing centers. Registration to volunteer just opened this morning in the Charlotte NC area, and is already open for other areas!
Spots fill up quickly, so grab a few friends and go ahead to sign-up. You must be 13 or older to participate and anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
If you want to volunteer closer to home, volunteer opportunities are available during National Collection Week, the third week of November. Contact your regional office to learn more about these opportunities.
Years ago I got to go with OCC to Haiti to distribute boxes. This little guy stole my heart. He was scared at first, but when he opened his box and found half the box filled with Duplo building blocks he was mesmerized! This is a huge way to bring a small bit of joy to kids all over the world and for the 60+ kids in this one room school the joy was overflowing!!
