Everyone needs a good chocolate chip cookies recipe under their belt. Here is one of my favorites! It’s both crisp and chewy and is definitely asking for a cold glass of milk.
I like to mix this dough by hand using a wooden spoon (it helps prevent over-mixing, which can lead to spreading and tough cookies). This recipe makes 12 cookies.
Ingredients
- 1 1/8 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup mini chocolate chips
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, mix together the butter, brown sugar, and sugar with a wooden spoon. Add the egg and vanilla and stir to combine.
- Pour in the flour mixture and stir until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Freeze the cookie dough for 10 minutes.
- Drop heaping tablespoons onto your prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown and slightly underdone in the middle.
- Allow to cool on the baking pan. Store in an airtight container.
