I think one of the most fun ways to get your kids involved with dinner is to have a make your own pizza night! It’s cheaper than delivery or going out for pizza. Give each person a section of dough and you’ll each have a super customized pizza!
Plus, if you head to Publix this week, you can grab BOGO Publix Bakery pizza dough! Tip: the dough arrives at the store frozen; ask the baker to give it to you straight from the freezer. You’ll be able to stock up at a good price and keep your dough fresh in your personal freezer. 
Another thing to keep in mind is that most pizza toppings are freezable. Chop a bunch of peppers and veggies ahead of time, brown some meats, freeze them, and you’ll have toppings ready when you need them. Or simply buy a bag of stir fry veggies or a can of olives, throw them in baggies, and freeze them.
Want to get a nice, crisp pizza cooked with an even heat? Try this frugal $2 pizza stone!
Ingredients
- (makes enough for 4 people)
- 1 Publix Bakery pizza dough (or your own homemade version)
- 1 jar marinara sauce
- 4 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- assorted toppings (pepperoni, ground beef, sliced peppers, onions, etc.)
Directions
- Thaw dough (if frozen) and let stand at room temperature for one hour. Divide into four sections.
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Lightly flour a flat surface and your hands and roll/pat each dough section into desired thickness.
- Top each section of dough evenly with the marinara sauce and the shredded cheese. Add your toppings of choice and bake on a pizza stone or baking sheet for 15-25 minutes or until your dough is browned and the cheese is melted. Let stand about 5 minutes before serving.

My favorite thing to do is to buy gas station gift cards that we can use when we travel, or gift cards to stores we are going to later in the week (Target etc.). We get gas savings and then can use the gift cards for purchases we were already going to make!
