I can hardly believe August is here, but denial hasn’t helped anyone. This is one of the busiest months of the year for many families, matched perhaps only by December or May. Anytime we are transitioning into a new season, it is hard. But I don’t want the desire for easier meals or convenience to leave us spending more than our grocery budget allows, so planning is key. Here’s our free August 2024 monthly meal plan.

You’ll see some duplicate recipes this month, particularly our taco dinner on Tuesdays.My family loves this meal and my older kids can make it themselves. This makes it a key part of our dinner rotation. If you’re not interested in eating the same meal every week, switch it up! Make burrito bowls, or use a different protein (chicken, shrimp, etc.). You’ll also see some convenience meals like hot dogs or sausages with macaroni and cheese. No, this isn’t anything gourmet. But planning something easy like this on nights when you know it will be crazy can keep you from eating out, which is always more expensive than cooking at home. That’s why we’ve also got frozen pizzas planned into our menu. Again, if something doesn’t strike your fancy, substitute with your own convenience meal!
