We’re taking a little break from online Q&A’s for the moment. My April and May are pretty busy and it’s hard to find a day to chat with you guys. Since my Monday’s are pretty packed, we’re going to switch to Thursdays during May. We’ll go back to Mondays in June, but in May we’ll be hanging out on May 15th & May 22nd.

We have all gone grocery shopping only to get home and realize that we forgot to use some (or all) of the coupons you had cut. My most memorable time of this was getting home to learn that my toddler had stolen coupons from my bag and stuffed them in her pockets. As I got her ready for bed I discovered why my savings hadn’t been quite what I thought it should be.
In moments like this, rather than get frustrated, I encourage you to grab your receipt and head back to the store with your coupons. Many grocery stores will take your coupons after the fact. While I can’t promise that they will always fix it, this is definitely one of those “it doesn’t hurt to ask” moments.
There are even some non-grocery stores that are known for this. Bed Bath & Beyond is one that wins a gold star in this category. You can come back in at any point with a coupon and have it applied to an old receipt. It doesn’t matter how long ago you bought it, just hold on to the receipt!
