You have to pay the shipping, but one of the things I love about Rue La La is that once you’ve ordered something and paid shipping, you get free shipping all month!
If you haven’t signed up yet, you still have time to get the $10 FREE credit. It can take up to 48 hours to appear in your account so while you can’t use it for this deal, you’ll be ready for the next one.
At the beginning of November I was invited to visit the Smucker’s headquarters and learn a little more about them. I was actually one of the few bloggers that wasn’t a “foodie” but it was great to get my hands dirty in the kitchen and have fun making new things. The video above is just one of the cool things that the folks at Smucker’s taught me – like how to make ice cream without the ice cream maker (see recipe)! I also made my first real pie crust (yes make fun) which turned out great.
I think actually you’d be amazed to see what brands are actually made by Smucker’s, it’s not just jams and jelly! To name just a few: Jif, Millstone, Dunkin Donuts, Hungry Jack, Crisco, White Lily, Martha White, Pillsbury (baking aisle)… and many more. The most fun part of the trip was learning what you can make with some of these products. They have amazing test kitchen that dreams up the most tasty recipes. My favorite was their cookie starter mix that you mix up and then keep in the fridge or freezer. It can make over 30 different cookies with one core base starter!
One other favorite part of the trip was realizing that there are more products out there than our stores sell. My new favorite spread is Smucker’s Orchards Finest triple berry!! Sadly this isn’t sold in any of our stores, but I can at least be a happier person having tasted it and knowing it’s out there.
To celebrate our trip, they wanted to provide one of you with an Around the Family Table with Smucker’s Gift Basket. It’s a hefty basket with so many goodies to help you get ready for the holidays.

Think of this as a public service announcement to be more mindful of staying health this season. I know with holiday vacations fast approaching getting the Flu is the last thing you want. Last year, more than 3 million US vacationers had their trip interrupted by flu-related illness. Walgreens conducted a Flu Impact Report where they discovered some surprising statistics that make me want to stay well this season!
- 100 million work days lost due to flu-related illness last season, resulting in $6.8 billion in lost wages
- One-third of respondents spent between $251 and $1,000 treating the flu last season
- 32 million school days were missed due to flu last season, which also translates to missed work days and other challenges
Last flu season… Over 1 million weddings were missed, more than 3 million vacations were canceled or interrupted, almost 5 million holiday celebrations were missed. I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to fall into one of these negative statistics this year.
Walgreens is here to help! They are giving away a basket full of Walgreens Brand StoreWallgreens brand goodies to help you fight the flu this season. There’s no planning for ill-timed illness, so these statistics from last year help to remind us how important it is to get the flu shot every year.
You can walk in any time to get your flu shot, or schedule an appointment online.
The Giveaway:
Walgreens is giving away a Wellness Basket filled with goodies like Wallgreens cough drops, thermometer, hand sanitizer and a Walgreens Flu Shot Gift Card!
