Am I too late, is this deal still going on now?
  • Jenny
This deal is over now, sorry.
  • Tracy C
Well, sorry to say it did not work for me. I tried the sunglasses case and my bucks did not print. Oh well, better deals later. Thanks anyway.
  • Jennifer C.
    Tana,
This deal is dead, it has been reported by numerous people that it is not printing the ecbs anymore so I wouldn't try it. If you are new to CVS'ing you should check out the getting started guides tab at the top of the Southern Savers page, it is very helpful.
  • Tana
I have just started and thought this would be a good start. Is there a limit to how many you can get to rack up some ECB and how long do you have to use the ECB you get back on these?
    Thanks for any help!!!
  • lynn
any ways to throught the word stealing or morality out there was harsh those of you who have it cvs wants you to keep it and use it those of you who dont want to well then dont i feel moraly fine with it and cvs says they like the business that the coupons bring to there store keep bloggin its the best advertisment the product or the store can get thank you and god bless all
  • lynn
hmmm when i came across this deal and was one of the ones to give jenny a heads up on it i thought it was a ligit deal as i started reading post to day about the moral issue in regaurd to this deal i went to csv ..... just to ask them wat was up the manager said we did nothing wrong that cvs wants us to keep the ecbs..... and even if you tear them up they still show up on your acount (please veiw your own account on line at cvs.com....... but thought the issue of morality over a deal that cvs says they want them to keep the bucks i wonder why i see no moral issue when people go to the store to purchaase something just for the ecb or rr or any other program ...... once the person gets there rr ecb they return the product and ha ppiely spend the rr ecb ect ect ........... i see a lot of people at diffrent times have been on here and left messages saing that they either do that or are going to do that or have done that ......................after reading from the newly formed moral police on here and talking to the manager at my local cvs i feel perfectly good about everything ...... but another example would be that this weeks new deal is for soy joy it is a free ecbs and a free product deal.......so any one who does that deal will or has the potentail to make a nice profit on itin the end this is what cvs said to me..... it was well worth all the free p attention we gt and the product got free advertisement

You Southerners are so lucky! You keep finding these great mistke "deals". Looks as though my CVS never even carried the brand you are speaking of. Sometimes Maine just SUCKS!!! However, it was nice to see so many moral advocates out there - although I believe CVS would still not be really losing anything. Not sure how their ECB work for them, but I'm sure they do just fine.
  • Jenny
    Angela,
You are right, ECB's are not funded by CVS but by the manufacturer's either directly or indirectly. So for CVS it is of little effect to them if at all. They are happy that you came in and now happy that you will come back and get more since you have $10 to spend. While it is an error and not a planned intention, it is not a negative effect for CVS.
  • Deena
Finally located cleaning cloths in Nashville on Murf. Rd., but the promotion was over and ECBs didn't print. Couldn't locate $5.99 sunglasses which I needed for gift bags. If anyone has seen them in Nashville please let me know so I can pick them up before promo ends tomorrow.
Aveeno positively ageless were part of the spend $20 get $10 ECB promo. Still had a $10 off 3 coupon.
  • Virginia
If you return something that you used coupons or ECBs to pay for, YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO GET THE ENTIRE PRICE REFUNDED TO YOU. Reason? Say you bought a $10 item and used a $5 coupon. You decide to return it. They only give you $5 back. They are going to put that item back on the shelf to sell again for $10, and they are also still going to turn in the $5 coupon for redemption. So they end up making $15 off of the same $10 item which is WRONG. Obviously stores will start refusing to allow you to make returns if you are clearly abusing the system. But if you have to make a legitimate return every now and then that you happened to use a coupon on, you are supposed to be refunded the entire price you were charged, not just what you paid.

If you pay with ECBs, it is CVS policy to refund you that amount on a CVS Money Card which is basically a giftcard/store credit. You EARNED your ECBs through purchasing advertised items, so they are yours to keep and yours to be refunded to you if you need to return something.

Also, consider this - what if you use a coupon or ECBs and pay absolutely $0 OOP? Say you bought something that was $10 but paid $0 and you want to return it. They cannot just take the item back from you w/o giving you a refund. They can't just say 'oops, sorry, you didn't actually pay anything so we can't give you any refund but sure we'll take the product back from you and re-sell it again.' Nope. They MUST refund you.
  • Jessica
Ashley and M Rose- Thank you so much for saying what you did. I totally agree. I went yesterday- and same as M Rose I just thought this was part of the deal since the computers were printing them. Well I got my ECB, and checked back online later in the day and found out that this was a mistake, and was not supposed to be part of the deal, and I just felt so terrible feeling like I had taken advantage of someone. Well, earlier today I mailed my ECB along with a letter to the store letting them know I didn't mean to rip them off, and I just couldn't use the "money" if it really was not part of the deal. Thanks for your comments. I guess I'm not alone.
  • DeeDee
About the coupon issue , I think the store still sends in the orginal purchase reciept with the coupon. You should get reimbursed for the full amount because you are losing the coupon . They cannot give it back if a day goes by. If you cancel the trans. right afterward they can give you back the coupon then .
    Does that make sense ?
  • DeeDee
I tried it in Conroe, Tx. I got the two Style Science lens cleaners for 99. It DID NOT produce ECB. I know it was the correct product because it had same picture that was posted . I guess that they have caught on and changed the computers.
  • I visited the CVS in Denver, NC and purchased (2) Style Science Lens Cleaning Clothes and it did not give me any ECB's. Oh well, just thought I would pass it along.
  • Cristina,
Moral dilemma for me, too. Each time I have said, "I used a coupon for this--I shouldn't get the entire amount back" but they just shrug it off. I guess once it's back on the shelf it resells for the original amount and they even out. But I guess the manufacturer loses money?

I appreciate those who've raised the moral issue and have stopped looking for the sunglass deal.
  • Cristina
    just me,
I'd try returning it without a coupon and getting a gift card. I've asked before and they've told me I won't get my ECBs back.
  • just me
I tried the deal but it didn't work (Sumter, SC) My question: I paid with mine using my ECBs. When I go back to get a refund, will they refund my ECBs or just the few pennies I paid???
  • Cristina
On the same "stealing" note, how do you handle returning something you used a coupon for? This happens to me a lot at Walgreens. If I purchase something and the RR doesn't print out, I return it. Since coupons aren't tied to the price of the item, I get back the full (or sale) price. That doesn't seem right, but if I were to point out what I actually paid and the store adjusted the price, they'd still be getting reimbursed for the coupon from the manufacturer so they'd be the ones profiting.

However, if you pay for something using RRs or ECBs and return it, you'll only get back the maximum you paid OOP so you lose the RRs or ECBs.

You win on one side and lose on the other.
  • Tracy
Had to ask for them. They found 3 in back. Unfortunately did not work - Cape Coral Fl
  • Amy
Just wondering if someone in the Chattanooga, TN area knows of a CVS where I can find them. Have tried two already and nothing!! Thanks!!
  • Jennifer C.
CVS must have caught the mistake, some other sites are posting that the $10.00 ecbs are not printing today.
  • Tiffani
It did work up until laast night. But it was a mistake and CVS fixed it.
  • Robin
Did not work here in PA.:( I didn't see it come out of the register unless the cashier snatched it like in the above post!! Ah well- I tried!!
  • Christy
If anyone finds them in Birmingham, AL please post... we have tried 4 different ones! thanks!
  • Meg
I got mine a few days ago and the first thing I said to my hubby when I brought the ECBS home was 'Wow this almost seems like stealing'! I'm going to have to very 'painfully' (like M Rose) put mine through the shredder :( Sure wish it was a legitimate deal though...oh well...
  • Learning2CouponFL
I found two of the cleaning cloth packets pretty easily with the eyeglasses. They had the soft cases and the cords for sunglasses too. I bought them around 6:30 last night and the EBC's printed. A coworker bought the same cloths this morning from another CVS and it didn't print her ECBs so it appears that corporate caught the mistake and fixed it sometime during the night.
  • Martha
I checked in many CVS in Alpharetta, Duluth and Lawrenceville. No luck :(
  • Brittany
I also felt odd about this when someone else told me about it. Interesting to see where and how many stores have already got the call and started keeping the ECBs.
  • M Rose
Ashley(176)-Agree--I went and got mine thinking they were just part of the deal---then started looking on here and realized it really was a glitch. I guess I will (painfully!!) tear it up and not use it!!!! I agree that it is taking advantage of the system. If it was a legitimate freebie-then I am all over that--but if it is a mistake then-no can do!! I really goes back to the law of reaping and sowing---I sure don't want to reap the re-payment for $10.00 that I "took". The good Lord will provide. But it still hurts to tear up $$$!
  • meg
CVS in Houston on Washington only had two packages of the wipes and I got them today. They had the lanyard thingies but they were not $1.99, so if you're in Houston stick to the one mentioned above!

I had a $4 ECB so I used that and got three candy bars for $2. Out of pocket: $0.00! :)
  • jennyd
did not have any in decatur alabama or moulton alabama.:(
  • angela
The CVS on Long Shoals Road in Arden, Nc had a few of the wipes left. Thanks Jenny!
  • michelle
I have been to garner rd in spartanburg and wade hampton and suber but could not find them, they had the cases at suber rd but did not want to spend six dollars will check lyman and east main in spartanburg tomorrow.
  • Tawanda
Victory! New Orleans (Metairie Road) had some. Thanks Jenny!

    Jennifer (131)
    Greenville, SC
As of 9:00 the CVS at Chick Springs and Wade Hampton had 7 packs of the lens cleaning tissues at .99 each. They are at the opposite end of the aisle where the sunglasses are on the end of the shelf on a little plastic hanger.
  • Ashley in NC
Amber, I'm so glad you shared that. The funny thing is, it didn't settle right with me either. But I kept telling myself that was silly that if the CVS stores were printing the ECBs and allowing it, it must be okay. In fact I was so excited about this find that 1st thing this morning I loaded up the kids (which is a really big deal around here right now; we have a 3 yr old, 2 yr old, & 4 month old and I can count on 1 hand how manty times I've been out of the house with all 3). We went to 2 different CVS stores and couldn't find them. I was so disappointed! Who wouldn't like to make an instant $8? But the whole time I kept asking myself if it was right. The ECBs are intended for the sunglasses purchase. Someone discovered that the computers can't distinguish between the sunglasses and other products made by the same company. It is a very easy way to make some money quickly, but knowing that it is due to an accidental computer oversight doesn't settle well with me. It is the same kind of ethical questions we have to face when a cashier accidently hands us to much money back. Do we smile and walk away at her oversight, knowing that money rightly belongs to the store. I was just as excited about it as everyone else, but once I stopped to think about it, I think it does cross the line between shopping wisely on a budget and cheating a store out of money. I know there are probably some of you who think I'm "out in left field," but I just wanted to throw this out there to think about. I'm certainly not looking down on anyone who got the ECBs. And I'm VERY greatful for your site, Jenny, and all the hard work you put into helping us save money. (I just started "couponing" last month and am already hooked. I check your site literally daily and sometimes multiple times a day!) I simply want us to look past the excitement of making a few easy dollars to make sure we're not going against what we know is right. These are my opinions and I'm sure there are others with very different ones. I am definitely not trying to start something and am not interested in debating morals. I just wanted to share what I've been dealing with in my own heart, for what it's worth.
  • Susan
    Tracie (165),

I bought one pkg of Sun Cover brand cleaners at one store and then one pkg of Style Science cleaners at a different store and I got the ECBs. The Magnavision brand must not be on the deal.
  • Jennifer
Checked at several stores in the Acworth/Kennesaw area and no luck.
  • jen
the cvs on the corner of whitehorse road and kfc has plenty of eye glass strings for 1.99 didnt feel like looking for the cleaner and i received the 10.00 ecbs cant conplain made 6.00
  • Tracie
Do you have 2 buy 2 of the Style Scince? I went to CVS tonday and bought the last Style Science wipes and one pair of Magnavision glasses and NO ECB's. The Mgr. said you had to buy 2 of the same manufacturer, is this accurate?
  • Kim
There was one left at my CVS so I had to but one of the $2.99 cases. Worked like a charm and my cashier was very happy for me.
  • Stacey
A big fat no on the Murfreesboro stores at Hwy 99 and Cason Ln. and the store on Mercury. I guess we have too many bargain seekers in town or the store has gotten wise to the deal!
  • lynn
i have gotten to know the guys and gals at my local cvs and they are great msot get excited to see how much iam going to save or what iam getting for free out of the three stores i shop cvs has the best customer service and nicest attitudes of them all ( feel like i should been sending them a thank you card every time i shopp there) cant wait tose each week what surpise they have happy cvsing all
  • JANET
I found PLENTY in Houston! I went to the CVS on gessner (on gessner the part in between Beltway 8 and 290) ITs a neighborhood CVS. The Cashier was suprised when they printed out. YAY! I GOT MINE!
  • Monica
No score at 5:00 in Richmond Hill. Receipts printed and I saw the ECB but I heard a small beep and the cashier grabbed the receipts and tore out the ECB and trashed them. She said it was a system error and the cloths did not qualify.
  • D.W.
tried 4 different stores in Sarasota, FL. In the last store my husband asked if they had these and the guy said "what is with these things? you are the 4th person today to ask me about them." haha! he also said that his store hasn't stocked them in 2 years! oh well. is there anyone else from Sarasota on here? if so, did you find them anywhere??
  • K.
Thank you! I'm in Southern California, and I found the lens cleaning tissues at the Seal Beach store. I must say that the cashier was stunned that I got a $10 coupon for spending $2.
  • russell
worked in greenville, sc at the cvs by Greenville Memorial hospital. They didnt have the wipes, so i had to get the cases at $2.99 each. Still made $4 so I cant complain. Paid with $6 ECBs and total due was 5 cents. I love CVS!!!
  • Marci
Found the lens wipes at Thompsons Station, TN store, hanging right with the sunglasses. They had plenty of them and the $2.99 cases too. Thank you!!
  • Amy in LA
It worked in Houma, LA! The west side store is sold out, but there were several left on the Prospect St store!
  • Gabby
SCORE in Dallas, TX, near the intersection of Forest and Marsh (not too far from 635) -- Sun Covers brand, on the sunglasses kiosk right in the middle of the store on the main aisle. I have briefly remembered someone mentioning the brand, so I went ahead and tried it, using my $2 ECB. The cashier was SUPER, super nice and when 10 ECBs printed she was like "oh, wow, you must have done something right!" Heck yeah, I read Southern Savers. ^_^ (There were about 8 or 9 left, so any North Dallas peeps better check it out!)
  • Teresa
Wanted to add that this was earlier today about 1:00 so I may have got them just in time! Sounds like the deal may be dead
  • Teresa
Yesss! I found the StyleScience Lens Cleaning Cloths and the StyleScience Eyewear Retainer and they bothed worked toward the ECB deal! Thanks for all the helpful info on the site!
  • Barbara
I went to a cvs in ft oglethorpe georgia and bought 2 of these and it didn't work! I guess it was not supposed to be a ECB after all....oh well! At least I am only out 2.00!!
  • Traci
I found the wipes in Louisville. They weren't anywhere near the sunglasses or eyeglasses and the cashier had never seen them before. Of course she loved the deal and was going to have to get some herself. They were on the side of an endcap on a small plastic strip. Paid $1 ECB and $1.04 OOP, and received $10 ECB!
  • Wendi
    Lisa,

I had the same problem. I went around 1:00 today to the CVS in Port Wentworth, GA and the cashier tore the ECBs off of my receipt before giving it to me. I heard her mention to another cashier that those were the items they got the call about. :( Just so happens my husband could use them so I didn't bother to return them but I was disappointed as well.
  • Vanessa
The manager at a store on Mobile, AL said they had receievd an email from corporate around lunch saying they were printing the ECBs and this was a computer glitch. The stores were told to pull the items or not give the ECBs. Just a heads up....
  • Jessica
    Which Montgomery stores have these?
  • Amanda C
They were out of the wipes at my store Lane Ave/Normandy Blvd (Jacksonville, Fl), but they did have the soft glass cases for 2.99 each - and it DID print out the $10ECBs:) YAY!! Thanks a bunch, Jenny:)
  • Julie from Sumter
Won't do that again...Looked in Sumter at the Calhoun store. Found some wipes....$3.99...Didn't work. Searched for the others....May take the ones I got back. Didn't see Style Science.
  • Lorri
A friend of mine tried this at the Easley, SC store, and the manager told her he was told to "pull" these from the store
  • Misty
sorry! Had no idea those posted 3 times! Having computer issues!
  • Misty
    Terri,

Where at the Spring Creek Rd/Brainerd CVS did you find these?
  • Kelly
It worked for me as well in Montgomery, AL. The sun covers brand does indeed work! :)
  • Lisa
When I bought the 2 packs of cloths and the EB's printed out, the cashier said that they weren't supposed to and she took them off my receipt! She said that corporate contacted them today about the error. I am not one for confrontation, so I returned my whole order and left. I didn't think that was the best way to handle the situation from a customer service point of view. :( I would never shop at CVS if they didn't have the EB deals. Their merchandise is way too expensive compared to other stores.
  • Misty
    Terri,

Where at the Brainerd/Spring Creek Rd CVS did you find these?
  • Did not work at my store. Oh, well.
  • Jamie
Did anyone see these in any of the MOntgomery, AL, stores? I went to 2 different ones and didn't see them at either place...
  • Stacey
Is there any store in Murfreesboro, TN that this deal is working at??? I just went to the store at corner of Memorial and Clark, and the cheapest thing they had was for $4.99. That would be a wash for me! I will check later after I leave work, but any input would be great! I think there are only 3 other stores in town, but I will check!
Please send suggestions either by post here or e-mail olivestacey@yahoo.com

    Thanks!!!!!!
  • ellen
This deal works in Coral Springs,Florida (southeast florida).
  • Ron
Sold out at Atlanta Road in Smyrna. Hurt Road has 2 left, after I got mine.
  • momof2
JACKPOT!!!!!!!It worked for me in Greenville, SC. I bumped into a fellow Southern Saver(I think) today in Greenville, SC @ the CVS on Butler Rd. No wipes there but I hit the jackpot @ the CVS in Mauldin (close to Mauldin High School). I looked on the sunglasses rack, @ the back near the pharmacy (NOTHING) Thankfully by 2 year old wanted a bottle of bubbles & their they were near the beach stuff. I bought a couple & there was only 2 packs left.
  • Teresa
Wen to the CVS at Dorchester and Bacons Bridge in summerville today and they didn't have the wipes or the cheap cases! :-(
  • Not finding them at the Duncan CVS stores.
  • Collins
I havent shopped at cvs in while will I still get the 10.00 ecb..? Dont you have to earn them?
  • Amber
I didn't feel comfortable doing this deal... feels more like stealing than being thrifty! :S
  • Angie
CVS in Northport, Al. at 82 and 69 are either sold out or they don't carry the item. All I could find were the $6.99 cases. Oh well, I'll have better luck next time!! Thanks anyway for the info.!!!!!
  • Julie
Well, that was fast - I think! I hit up 3 stores in NE Knoxville (TN) between 10am-12n and the ONLY Style Science products I found were some fabric pouch-cases for $6.99, all on the sunglass spinners. Saw a couple of empty pegs at 2 stores (Clinton Hwy and Emory Rd) so I'm guessing those were cleaned out.

I did find glasses cases for $2.99 at the 1st store on N. Broadway, but I wasn't sure they'd work since everyone else has been saying it's the $.99 cloths/tissues or the $1.99 cases. I didn't want to waste my ECBs from this week in case... I guess I shouldve gotten them?
