We were told by the manager of ours that the store coupons have to come from a store that has a meat and produce department just like theirs. So if you have a Super Target in your area they are a competitor just like Food Lion and Kroger or whatever grocery store you may have. But a drug store for instance would not be.

I believe that it is. Just from my experience, Publix will take Whole Foods as they compete on the natural foods market side of the grocery business. As for other stores, I understand they have to be within 5 miles of a specific store in order for them to allow the use of competitor coupons. I understood they would take Fresh Market coupons at the Publix on So Pleasantburg but this would not work at the Publix, say at McBee Station. I hope this helps. Of course, you can always call ahead and check with a manager on duty. I would like to know that answer as well.

One of my local Publix managers explained to me recently that each store sets up a mileage radius from their store location and accepts competitor Q’s for only stores located within it. Some that Publix will not accept Whole Foods Q’s but Publix stores with a Whole Foods nearby will. This was from the Publix on Glynn St. in Fayetteville, GA.

I live in Central Florida and it is different coupon shopping here than other places. In my opinion, your best shopping deals are at Publix. Though we have no double coupons in Florida, the BOGO's really help. Also Winn Dixie is my second choice. Hope this helps.

Florida stores have “true” B1G1 deals. The first item is full price, the second is free. Also, Florida does not double coupons. Publix does allow stacking (Manufacture q plus store q). Publix usually allows Manufature q , store q, plus a competitor q, but each manager determines what s/he considers a competitor. Only #1 and #5 in the “rules” do not aplly to Florida :) HTH

Hi Veronica – Everyone that has replied is correct about FL … And I agree with Felicia, Publix is the best opportunity for savings for couponers, Winn Dixie second best … Sometimes its a little disheartening as a Floridian seeing how much more money other people in other states that do double and do B1G1 differently are able to save, but even with our disadvantages here, doing Publix right you can still average 50 – 75% savings everytime you go in, sometimes (but not terribly often) better … Maybe stock up on any dry good items you can before you get here and only buy perishables while you're here? Hope you enjoy your vacation :)

Regarding the Gatorade and the rebate — I just called the rebate information number listed on the rebate form and since Gatorade is not a ConAgra food, the 8 pack will not apply toward the rebate. To qualify for the rebate, you have to purchase $20 of participating FOOD in a single transaction of $50 or more in general merchandise, and one 24 pack of Aquafina or a 12 pack of Gatorade. So the 8 pack will not even work for the beverage part of this rebate deal. I have decided to sit out this rebate since everything has to be purchased by the 26th, and there are not many deals to be had.

On a happier note, the Summertime Savings Guide that features this rebate has a Publix coupon good for $2 off ANY (1) Gatorade 20 oz. multi-pack. Although it says limit one deal per coupon per customer. I haven't seen that wording before. Does anyone know what it means?

Technically it means “one coupon per transaction, or one per customer, etc”, Emily. But my store always lets me use more than one per transaction since they know me cuz I'm there alllllll the time, lol. Depends on your store/cashier/mgr. if you can use more than one. :)

If any of you do plan to do this deal before the deadline– our stores in Florida had $12 in coupons on the cardboard bottom packaging in the Aquafina water that is a part of this deal– I think hurricane preparation is what the packaging said. They are cumbersome since on cardboard but there were a few pretty good ones like the $1/2 SOBE I will use at Target this week.

I had a good trip to Publix this week, but was very disappointed when I couldnt find any of the coupon booklets. This may not be the right place to vent on here, but I am so frustrated. The clerk behind the service desk told me that when they put the “Stock Up & Save” flyers out, there were people that were taking “Handfuls” of them, so now they are all gone! This is a regular occurance at the Promenade location in McCalla, Alabama. I try to be mindful and considerate of others when I get any type of coupon booklet and limit myself to one or two. I have a large family and heavily rely on couponing to be able to feed my family. There are plenty of coupons for everyone out there to get a great deal, I would hope that whomever is being rude and taking all of the coupon booklets would think before taking so many. Sorry, I usually do not post on here unless I have found a great deal or a new printable coupon, but I am fed up with rudeness.

I was wondering why they didn't have any coupon books at that location…..I usually shop in Pinson/Trussville but the in-laws live in Vance, so I stopped in at the McCalla Publix on the way home to pick up a few things…..no coupon books anywhere, except for the Yellow and Green advantage flyers. I've never had a problem getting coupon books in the Pinson location, usually the things that go fast are the tearpad coupons…..

You may want to ask management to put them behind the counter and dole them out. That's what my Publix does now. Unfortuantley they only give one set per trip -but at least they always have some available.

Hi. I live in FL, so I don't shop at your local Publix, but my store has run out of the coupon books before, but the customer service reps will write down the coupon codes for me to take to the check-out. Then the checker just has to input the numbers (just like they would with the actual coupon). Just a thought, you might want to ask the person who is at the customer service desk, or the manager, to look up the codes and write them down for you. It is very disappointing when you go in counting on those coupons and then they are gone :(

Apparently they were having the same problem at the SC Publix where I shop, so now you have to ask at the service desk for your coupons. They'll give out one of each of whatever they have, which is often enough for me, anyway. If I need more, I just ask for another next time I'm there. Maybe you could suggest to your manager that they try that. Good luck! :-)

I have noticed this too at the Publix in Vestavia. You have to ask at the customer service desk. Sometimes they are out, but I think they got to know my face and stopped giving them to me. I have also found that Publix to be very coupon UNfriendly. The Publix on 31 in Hoover is VERY coupon friendly. There is a lady in the store that walks around and gives out the coupon booklets and has given me “tips” on how to get the deals. She is precious! I have spoken with the manager and told him how much I love his store. I drive a few miles out of my way to go to his store just because they are so friendly to me!

Heads up on the Lipton Tea Bags–there are some older Publix coupons out there for .55 off, they expired 5/31, but my Publix takes their coupons for about a month after they expire. They also take expired Manuf. coupons if they are in the same week, and there are some of those floating around for .40 off. Don't remember where I got them, but there you go!

I am a FL girl too but, Publix at least in the NE honors competitor coupons. So, I can take the Whole Foods coupons that are in a local free paper and get $10 off $40 purchase and our Publix stores in Jax accept the Target web coupons also (which can also be used with a manufacturers coupon).

Heads up on the General Mills cereals B1G1! It does NOT include Cheerios (I should have double-checked, but saw coupon matchups that were for Cheerios only, so assumed they were). Just checked my receipt at home and both my boxes of Cheerios were full price. :(

I found a “Save Instantly” coupon on some boxes that weren’t on sale. The coupon required that you buy ANY 17 oz or larger box of General Mills Cereal and instantly save $1.50! Watch for these! My Publix store wouldn't take the Phillips Crab Cake Coupons, states it didn't print with all the right information, I am not sure what is missing, it does look different though, I was disappointed, because I would have got them for 3.99 a box, originally they are 8.99 box, they're gooood!!!!!!!

Hey I'm not sure if anyone said this one or not yet or if it would be available everywhere BUT, we got great deals on cereal and grabbed other freebies. Certain varietes were BOGO, then we used a $0.75 off on each one. THEN we used the $1/2 boxes on cheerios (manufac. from general mills) and .55 off honey nut cheerios. On top of that each one had a coupon for a free item. One gave a us free cookie dough, and the other gave us free yogurt, bring a $1 off for yoplait delights and take $1 off your total.

At my store yesterday, fruit chillers were BOGO. I think they were about $2.50, so with the $.50 coupon doubled they would be about $.25 each. I didn't have my coupons with me, so I'm going to have to go back and get those.

Did anyone buy the Phillips crab cakes and were they the minis?? All I saw at my Publix were the minis originally $8.99- but there was so sale sign up and the sales person didnt really know so I didnt bother taking them to the front to ask. If you bought them, are they good??

Last time they were BOGO, I got some minis (full size were gone.) They are definitely bite sized, more for appetizers. To make a meal out of it, I made an eggs benedict topped with a few crab cakes. Two of us polished off a box and could have had more. For a cheapskate like me, it just wasn't worth the money.

For those of you looking for the Smart Balance Milk $2 Q, enter the zip 29640 and the .75 Q will change to the $2. This is an upstate SC zip. I am not sure which papers got it, but the Greenville News, Anderson Independent Mail, Greenwood Journal, etc. got a $2/1 Smart Balance Milk Q two sunday's ago, so check your insert. It is regional and not listed in Jenny's post. I am not sure if this was in the RP or the SS insert. Some areas got different amounts or didn't get a Q at all.

On the Smart Balance Milk, there will be an overage with the $2 coupon right? Can anyone tell me what happens with the overage? Does Publix adjust the coupon to just make it free or does the overage roll over? Does it depend on the store or s their a norm for this?

Yes – there will be an overage of 21 cents per half gallon. My publix (gervais st, columbia) applies the overage towards the rest of the bill. I also shop at Lexington Publix and they do the same!

Smart Balance milk is in high demand! Our store in Decatur, AL has been out for two days, but will get a shipment in tonight. There were 4 other customers looking for it when I was there on my lunch hour! Also, the Mt. Olive pickers are also B1G1 and they have a coupon for $0.75/1 inside!!!

There is a Rebate on this milk in RP of 6/27 (may vary by region–I am in Georgia) for those who want to hold out until Sunday to get the milk.

Also in my 6/13 RP there is a $2.50 off of SmartBalance Milk (regional?) so it would make it a larger overage and more free milk

You can, your using 1 Q per item. Your using the B1G1 Q on the first item and the $1/1 Q for the second item. plus 1 is a store Q and the other is a mnf Q. I do this all the time and it's basic couponing.

I guess you are lucky with the store you shop at. The list above says you can use the B1G1, $1 off and 2 mfr. coupons, but as Mayandsiliu replied some stores won't accept it. Basic couponing or not it just depends on how lucky you are with the store you go to but a lot of stores won't do this.

The Gatorade Recover Publix coupon doesn't work for the 8 pack of G2 or Gatorade Thirst Quencher (which is not Recover). It's a coupon for individual bottles that are a different, more expensive Gatorade product, but Target has .75 off an 8 pk making it $4.25, an even better deal!

I just want to say a quick “SHAME ON YOU!” to the woman who went to the Hwy 20 Publix in McDonough first thing this morning, used the Publix printable $1.50 off berries coupon and bought all 4 cases (40 small containers!!!) that they had. It was extremely rude of you to not leave any for the rest of us non-coupon hogs who would have liked just one package of them. Not to mention this puts Publix in a very bad position of wanting to please the customer but then losing money because of greedy folks like you. You give couponers a bad rep.

I am sorry if I was insensitive to you. I didn't mean it that way as God is my witness. I too am frustrated at the lack of savings booklets at my Publix too. I live in Florida and we don't have double off coupon days either, but I am thankful for the advantage flyers and the savings I am able to achieve. Don't be discouraged. I know ladies that stockpile on a budget of 40-50 a week and that is a goal I am shooting for. I have been able to cut my savings to average 55% by shopping the BOGOs at Publix and Winn Dixie. I am fairly new to couponing but it has made a difference in our budget. Sorry again if I offended you. It was not my spirit at all.

I don't think it would be fair to limit coupons to “one per costumer”. With a family of five, 2-3 containers of blueberries come handy. I freeze them future recipes. I agree that buying the whole store's supply is very rude though.

The cashiers get to know you and trust you, It makes using coupons faster. Pepole like that will cause Publix not to let us print out store coupons.

you hit the nail on the head when you said “the cashiers get to know you and trust you”. i am a customer service staff (who also is a huge couponer) at a local publix in south carolina, and we (all the cashiers/office staff) get to know the people who follow the proper guidelines when it comes to couponing. honestly, we will take their coupons and trust that they are correct without so much as a second glance. now, on the other hand, we also are very familiar with the dishonest customers that are trying their best to “get one over on us”, and we will scrutinize every one of their coupons. unfortunately in the future the coupon policies may change due to people misusing coupons, and that will affect the customers that are being honest in every way. thanks to all those people who do the right thing!! trust me, we know who you are when we ring you up!

Can you imagine what type of person it takes to actually print 40 or more coupons and try to go get ALL of them knowing they are free?? WOW, I'm so glad to hear that issue addressed! I am not an “extreme” coupon freak, I just try to honestly consider what would be a fair share for my husband and myself (our kids are grown) and only stockpile a reasonable amount. It seems like some couponers are obsessed and greedy about it, even to the point of psycho-hoarding. And I have seen negative posts about the McBee Station Publix in Greenville, and I agree – their customer service is the worst! I refuse to shop there anymore.

Sometimes I feel bad for having the sheer good fortune of being able to take advantage of some great sales and Q's because people share their newspapers and printable q's with me. Never bought 40 of anything though. Perhaps my 24 SobeWater was excessive, but I had 12 BOGO and the shelves were still full when I left.

I did want to say that I think it is important that we extreme couponers not upset the stores so that they are forced to limit the use of q's or limit quantities. I got 2 bags of Doritos a few weeks ago for free, using what I later learned to be a fraudulent Q — thanks to this site. I pulled an empty bag from the garbage and took it to customer service and asked them to charge me for two bags since the q was fraudulent.

They were pleasantly shocked, and I expect that they'll smile at me when I use my Q's instead of scrutinizing my every purchase.

It's a Publix coupon. You can also tell by looking at the numbers on it. Publix coupons have a “LU…” code and not a barcode usually. MQ will have lots of numbers with a barcode.
And you don't sound like an idiot at all. We all had to learn at some point as well.

Hey man I'm a male used to be college student (a long time ago), and its not 'cheap', its smart. I went to Bi-Lo last week and with only a few exceptions bought only BOGO's or similar w/coupons. The cashier said did you figure this out by yourself or did your wife help you? I told her my wife didnt but Jenny did. She was quite impressed with the savings. It seems to me that the in-store dispensers have the coupons about 2-3 weeks before the item goes on sale. That is why, when I see a coupon in a dispenser, I take a couple. I don't think I remember ever seeing a dispenser coupon while the item is on sale.

My Publix gets shipments on Thursday nights, so I went in first thing this morning right after they opened and they STILL did not have any Smart Balance. The stocking guy went back and searched for 10 minutes and came back and said they did not receive any! Do you think the company knows about the sale and how their milk is going for free so they arent sending it out?? My husband is a manager for Publix and said the warehouse may have been out. Not sure where you are located but all stores get there trucks on different days. I know you can at least get a raincheck for a B1G1 deal (you would get 2 milk) but not sure the limit as it depends on the store.

We went to the Publix on Highway 6 Tuesday night for the first time of using our coupons. We did good but would haave done even better had they taken our Target coupons. The young lady said they did not take them, when I told her that we were told that they did she said that they did not consider Target a competitor.

My store stopped taking Target coupons for awhile, but now they take them again since we have a SuperTarget in town. Keep asking around if you have another Publix, or email corporate and suggest that your store consider changing their coupon policy. As far as I know, it is up to the individual store's manager what coupons they will accept.

The one in harbison does and the Manager in the Lex store said they now take the Target coupons since they both have targets pretty close by. Love the one in Harbison. Never have any issues with my coupons and everyone there is super nice.

the Publix on Hardscrabble, Cola SC is the same. The manager said it's actually company policy- as Target is not considered a grocery store. Looks like from other postings, some Publix use their judgment call on that and not company policy, so it makes it confusing for all of us. (the manager actually pulled out the company policy book, so it is in there)

I'm normally a Publix shopper, but today I had to go to Walmart to get a 24-pack of Coke for $5. While there I saw Sweet Baby Ray's on sale for $2 for the BIG one (40 oz). My coupon was good for $1 off 1 big bottle or 2 smaller bottles.

One dollar for that much BBQ sauce is better than Publix's deal this week.

I went to Publix the first day of the sale and bought 2 of the Combat products, one at $3.69 and the other at $3.99. I told my mom about the great deal and she advised she was unable to find any below $4.69 at her area Publix stores. I went back to my Publix today and they had been marked up! The lowest price on the shelf for mine were $4.69 for the ant and 6.99 for the roach. I got one of each. When I got home I check my reciept and noticed that the roach one rang up at $9.99. So, you may want to make sure you check your reciept. I'm taking mine back tomorrow. I'm sure they will fix the problem they usually do with no problem you just have to make sure you notice it on your reciept.

There are different sizes for each of these, and sometimes they get mixed up on the shelf, so that the larger one may be placed by the price of the smaller one – you just have to check to be sure the product matches the tag on the shelf so you don't have any surprises at checkout!

It depends on your store's policy. Many stores see a store q and a comp q as the same thing, but there are a few stores that will accept all 3 on 1 item. You can always ask Customer Service! Good luck.

I was only able to get 1 $2.00q for smart balance milk. My area rec'd a $1.00 q for the milk. Publix had free 1/2 milk (peelie) if you purchased 2 oreo's cookies. I had free q's for cookies and raincheck for six. I also hosted a back yard party through house party with for oscar mayer. I obtained coupons I had a couple for myself and give my quests the remaining. I used the coupons to purchased the hot dogs. I ended up with 6 smart bal milks, 3 chol milk, 3white and 6 packs of oreo's. I only paid $9.00. I will give Jenny the contact address for House Party as they have several more planned. I have a family of 5. My husband and I are both looking for emplymnt. I hope this purchase did take away from other customers. Thanks Jenny you are great!!!

Has anyone tried the movie ticket offer on the kellogg's cereal box? When I tried to enter the codes from the inside of the box there wasn't room for all the numbers and letters so when I submitted it, it didn't register. Anybody had success??

I have redeemed 2 tickets from the cereal. I never ran into any issues with being able to put the codes in. It should be 4 sets of digits that are each 4 numbers/letters long expample RWML-P5Z4-L7K5-75GP. We cashed them in with the ones from pop tarts for free tickets to see Toy Story 3

I have a really confusing deal I am trying to sort out. I have a 2/4 pepsi coupon from HG Hills. And two publix coupons for a free bag of ruffles, with purchase of two pepsi. Now, the confusing part… Ruffles are BOGO this week… So do I get 4 bags free??

No, you will only get TWO bags free. The BOGO just signifies that they are on sale (1/2 off). I have that same coupon and I bought 4 12 packs of Pepsi products and got TWO bags free……

No, here in FL you buy 4 Pepsi products for $11, use 2 Advantage Buy Q's and that gives you 4 bags of Ruffles for FREE, plus if you have the Ruffles Q that says buy 2 and get a Rold Gold pretzel free…. That would be 4 Pepsi, 4 Ruffles, 2 Rold Gold for $11.
PLUS, there are some Rold Gold coupons/peelies out there and an IP for $1/2 Ruffles. So you total could be even less.

Yes, I think you WOULD get 4 bags for free. Your 1st coupon specifies 4 packs of Pepsi, so if you're combining that with the Publix Q's, each of which only specifies 2 pks of Pepsi to get 1 bag of chips, then you're getting 4 pks of soda, and 2 bags of chips with your coupons. But because the Ruffles are BOGO you will then get 2 more bags for free.

Dang, I screwed up on the Sweet Baby Ray's! I bought BBQ sauce (6 bottles) and noticed when I got home that they didn't ring up BOGO. I called the store to ask about it and was told it was Sweet Baby Ray's steak sauce. Do they even make steak sauce? I don't see it on the website. Anyway..should I take them back or am I stuck?

Take them back. You can take back anything. If you were in the right and you prove they were bogo, then when you take them back they will give you your money back for one and adjust the price for the rest of them and give you the difference. If they were right then just get your money back.

Jenny, first of all i have to say that i love your site!! But i have to address the coupon deal about the philadelphia cream cheese as innacurate, On your site you say that you can use the b1g1 store coupon + the 2 1$ off store coupons + the 2 1$ off manufacturer coupons; that's not correct. Buy using both the first two coupons you would be double stacking on Publix coupons, and the coupon policy states that that is not allowed.

Actually, I think she is saying that you can use the BOGO store coupon and ONE $1 off coupon and two manufacturer coupons. So it isn't double stacking. It's one store q and one manufacturer q per item purchased. At least that is the way I am reading it.

I was SUPER EXCITED when I realized at Publix tonight that just about all the produce I need to make Ratatouille is on sale. Only produce not on sale is the red onion. Also, the Sun Dried Tomato Vinaigrette is not on sale, but I found a BOGO Q for Ken's Vinaigrette that was about to expire anyway, so that was pretty awesome!!!

I have a recipe on youtube if anyone is interested… just look up Chef Merlin Ratatouille.

I went to my publix just to get 2 of the smart balance milks. They would only allow me to use one of the -$2q's….is this right? I know it was b/c i would have a negative balance, but I am not sure how this compares to the actual publix policy. Does anyone know?

They won't pay you money from their register, therefore you can't have a negative balance. All you would need to do is just buy another item to absorb that overage and they would have allowed both Q's.

That is what I thought also, but he said he couldn't let me use both even if i picked up a pack of gum or something…..I think he was wrong, but I wasn't 100% sure, so I didn't argue with him about it.

Was not happy with my publix yesterday. the sale on GM cereals did not include cheerios. They usually always put them in the sale but nope not today. then they were slightly rude when i asked them about the summer savings book that has come out. they acted like they didn't know what i was talking about and asked me if i had looked for it in the turnstile. i looked there and ALL over the store cuz it was spotted in the dairy section of some of the stores. ughh.. not a great day for me there.

I ask about them all the time when I go into the store and they give me the same attitude. I think that sometimes certain cashiers dont know what we are talking about so they push us away so they dont have to deal with us. You can just always ask the manager and they will tell you.

Stumbled upon a great deal on Pepsi products. The ad running thru Wednesday (or Tuesday) has buy 3 Pepsi 12-packs for $11 and get the 4th one free. That's pretty good but it gets better. In a yellow Publix store flyer you can find up front is a store coupon that is for a free bag of Ruffles (9-10oz) when you buy 2 Pepsi 12-packs. Now Ruffles is BOGO this week so when I checked out the bag rang up as $2.00. However, when the coupon scanned it took off the full price of $3.99. So that meant I got 4 12-packs of Pepsi products and a bag of Ruffles for $7.00!! And it is good for any of the Pepsi products including Mug rootbeer, Mt. Dew, Dr. Pepper, Crush.

I had a decent time at Publix today, but still wound up feeling disappointed. There was no blinkie for the International Delights creamer. Our SobeWater is not on sale for $1. anymore. So I used a $5 off Rite Aid Q and it was okay in the end. Our store doesn't carry Fruit20. I did discover several jars of miracle whip with a 25 cent peelie on top, which I paired with the $1.50 off 2 and the $1 off publix bread wyb miracle whip. I really thought I'd heard somewhere that you could combine a peelie with a MQ but the cashier said I couldn't. But then he said he'd run it through anyway, just not to do it again.

I worked for two hours matching and cutting coupons from my stockpiled stash since I started at the beginning of April and I am excited about my Publix trip yesterday…total before coupons….272.27…after coupons and BOGO savings..135.34…I saved 136.93 dollars in coupons (80.00) and BOGO (56.00)…Best trip yet!!! I have been working so hard at staying on top of getting a Sunday paper each week, printing coupons, and getting my two copies of the coupons my store puts out when Jenny tells us about them.

I LOVE PUBLIX!!! I had my best shopping yet…total spent was 112.86 total saved was 110.35. My savings is truely better than it sounds, my husband got a promotion at work so I splurged and bought us two beautiful filet steaks, a pound of shrimp and two bottles of wine…so take of about $40 from my total spent and it rocks!

Some coupons are only found in the newspaper. If there is an internet printable available, you will be able to click on it. Same thing with store coupons. Some are just available at the store, and some are available as internet printables.

HI Stacey, As for competitor, you'll need to call your store. The stores in my area say the accept ANY grocery store coupons. Even if they are out of state, they will take it. However, they will only take Target if it's Super Target on the q. Again, just call your stores and ask, they are super nice about it. And, if you have a coupon says you get a gift card, most Publix just consider this a promotion/ad, not a coupon. So chances are they won't accept it. HTH!!

Ok, I am pretty new to couponing. I went to Publix this evening and picked up SobBe life water. I had my Target coupon and was told that they only consider grocery stores as competitors. I think I used a coupon last week from Publix are they changing policies. I am in Newnan, Ga.
