DIY no-sew Christmas Tree Skirt

Ready for another easy tree skirt?  Here’s a no-sew ruffled tree skirt that looks cute under any tree.

Supplies:

Canvas Fabric
1-2 yd. Cotton Fabric
Hot Glue
Scissors

You can use more fabric if you’re wanting a more dramatic tree skirt for a big tree.  My tree skirt is about 2 yds. in diameter.  If you don’t use canvas, use a heavy fabric that will lay flat – something for the ruffles to stick to.

1.  Take the canvas fabric and cut it into a circle in the size you want.

2.  Cut a circle in the middle for the tree stump and a straight line down one side of the skirt.

3.  Cut strips of cheap canvas fabric about 4 inches wide.

4.  Start at the bottom (widest) part of the tree skirt with lines of hot glue on the canvas where the top of the 4 in strip of fabric will be.  Lay down about 6-8 in. of hot glue at a time so it doesn’t dry.

5.  Before the hot glue dries, put the strip of fabric on the glue and pinch the fabric every couple of inches to make a ruffle.

6.  When you’re ready to start the layer above that one, layer the next fabric strip so the bottom of it covers where you glued the other strip.

Then, you’re all done!  Put it under the tree and it’ll last for years.  I’ve been happy with my tree skirt – it’s study and cute.
