However, as a veteran mom myself, I have come to enjoy getting something off the list as well as something just for mom. She will love anything you give her for the new little one, but she’s a person, too, so I find it really fun to give her something that’s just for her. Pitch in with a few other friends and pay for a newborn photography session.
Postpartum massage
Give her a gift card for a postpartum massage that she can get a few weeks after baby is born, or maybe even a few months when the sleep deprivation really starts to hit!

Some cozy pajamas are a great gift for a new mom no matter what kind of birth she’s had or how she’s feeding her baby. Let her feel like a real person after birth!

There are lots of aches and pains after birth, so a heating pad is a great gift. She can use it for future soreness as well!
Gift cards
Depending on what the new mom likes, you could give gift cards to anywhere—her favorite online retailer, restaurant, or clothing boutique. She’ll have something to look forward to after the birth that isn’t related to her new baby.

Think of what you might enjoy when you’re tired and overwhelmed. You could give shower steamers, face masks, dry shampoo, or whatever else you think the new mom might like!

You could gift her a physical book, or if it might be easier while carrying for a newborn, an Audible subscription.

You can pitch in with some friends and pay for a few sessions of someone cleaning the new mom’s house. If that’s not in budget, then you can offer to clean it yourself!
