A Little Bit About Comforts Formula

Once you realize you need formula, picking which one feels like another uphill climb.  There are entire aisles in some stores and you’ve got to learn new lingo to understand the differences.  If you are in that boat, let me share a few options and help to decode some of the terms.

Comforts HMO Infant Formula
Designed to suit your baby’s individual needs, Kroger Comforts formulas provide complete nutrition just like leading brands.  The best part for you… they are made with quality nutrition at a price that is much more affordable than national brands.

Comforts Infant Non-GMO with DHA – The closest formula to breast milk, with DHA is designed to help support brain development.  It is complete nutrition that compares to Enfamil® Infant Non-GMO.

Comforts Sensitivity Infant Formula & Comforts Advantage Infant Formula feature 2’-FL HMO and are now available exclusively in Kroger banner stores. The infant formulas feature a blend of nutrients that supports baby’s growth and development.  They compare to Similac Pro-Sensitive and Similac Pro-Advance.

The Terms

HMO –  Human Milk Oligosaccharide is a prebiotic that helps establish beneficial bacteria for immune support.

2′-FL – A specific oligosaccharide, 2’-fucosyllactose that is found naturally and is abundant in mother’s breast milk.  They are added to help your babies immune system to be more like the immune system of a breastfed baby.

Non GMO – Ingredients are not genetically engineered.

DHA – Docosahexaenoic acid, is an essential fatty acid, important to brain development in infants.  It occurs naturally in breast milk and is added in many formulas.
