A few weeks ago a reporter left a message on the Southern Savers facebook page to get questions and stories from Southern Savers fans and users.  Well, the article is officially out. If you want a paper copy you’ll need to live in Central South Carolina, but everyone else can read it online.

I only knew the questions I answered so it was fun to see everything you guys also sent in.  If you ever wondered how I got started with Southern Savers, it is a great article.

(Thanks Lexington Life!)

    • allison

You are so awesome to provide us with a free site! Thank you so much for your generosity!

    • Blakely

Great article! You do a great job.

    • Great article! Thanks so much for everything that you do! I decided in October to quit my job and become a stay-at-home mom. I really thought we would be eating peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and Raman noodles for the rest of our lives!! Instead, thanks to your site, we have more name-brand products in our house than ever before! I have really gotten the hang of this and am now teaching coupon classes in Shreveport, La. I could never thank you enough for the impact you've made on our family. :)

    • noahcat

Nice article. So cool to see this in my hometown. Go Wildcats!

      • noahcat

Every time I go to Publix in Irmo, I see at least 2 other Southern Savers. You can spot us by our list, our coupon organizers, and the way we are continuously scanning the area around us for more coupons.

        • Rebecca

Same thing around here…a couple months ago another lady and I saw each other coming from opposite ends of an isle at Publix…we just knew each was a Southern Saver, had our lists and all. After introductions, we had a laugh about it, swapped extra coupons, and finished up our shopping. Thanks, Jenny, for all you do for so many of us!

          • Melanie

I love running into others with their Southern Savers lists! It makes me feel like I'm in a secret society or something! Congrats Jenny! God bless you and your family for helping so many of us!!!

    • ritareese

great article! we appreciate all you do, Jenny!!!

    • CouponBubba

Excellent article, Jenny! There are also quite a few of us guys out here saving money by couponing, thanks to you and those who contribute to make Southern Savers the tremendous resource it is. We may be few and far between, but on behalf of the male contingent, many thanks!

    • Jozette

All I can say is THANK YOU!

    • Wendy

Congratulations! You've made a tremendous difference in our quality of life over the last five months. I NEVER clipped coupons until I stumbled onto your site. I'm a convert now.

    • Ida

Wonderful article. I can relate to everything in it! Like Beaird mentions in the article, I rarely buy things anymore that are not on sale or for which I do not have a coupon. Items I used to buy, but don't anymore because they are hardly ever on sale or there are never coupons for them, my husband refers to as “coupon casualties” in our household. I should copyright that!

      • Amanda

Ida, I cringe every time I have to buy something that is not on sale. It drives me crazy, especially if my husband is with me has an impulse buy that I don't have a coupon for. :( I think I may be obsessed, but at least I am in good company.

        • Ida

Even worse…when I send my husband to the grocery store with a VERY SPECIFIC list and VERY SPECIFIC coupons and he comes home with lots of not-previously-approved items!!!! Argh!! :-)

    • lori

Great areticle!! You are a lifesaver to many!!! Thanks!

    • mitchellfr6

Thanks for sharing the article and all the helpful information. You and this site are a blessing. Keep up the great work! I especially like the shopping lists, they make shopping so much easier.

Thank you, Jenny & team! You have brought my husband and I closer together because we work together to save!

    • Congratulations. I'm somewhat new to SS and I'm loving it. THanks for all your hard work.

    • Ronda

Great article! You have truly been a blessing to me and my household – just me! Although I am single, using coupons over the years have allowed me to save money for other things and give to charity. Thanks for all you do!

    • Linda

When I try to read the article it says the file is damaged. How can I read this?

      • Lisa

Mine was doing the same. Instead of clicking on download article, click on home for the magazine and then scroll to the bottom. Then, click on the option of downloading magazine and it's on pg. 12.

    • jennifermcgrathbutler

that is so awesome, jenny. congratulations! i feel protective of southern savers, but love to share the site with anyone who's interested! the only down side is the negative comments that creep in every now & then…i, personally, cannot stand it. who here doesn't want to support each other & thank jenny for what she gives? each day i'm thankful for jenny & everyone else that posts extra deals or shows us “newbies” exactly how it's done!!!

    • How fun! Great article! You should be proud!

    • RobinB78

Awesome article Jenny!!!! Way to go!!!

    • artmommy222

I cannot imagine doing couponing without the help of Southern Savers. There would really be no other way to easily figure out if there are any sales on products you have coupons for. And all the random tips about isolated freebies from different places are great!!

    • Amy B.

Oh, I'm SUPER excited to read it!!

      • Amy B.

Great article! Very accurate portrayal of the awesomeness that Southern Savers is!

    • Kristie

Jenny thanks for all that you do. You really have showed me how to save my family a lot of money. My husband loves to tell anyone who will listen about you site.

    • Robin T

GREAT article! You have NO IDEA how much you've benefitted our family and friends, Jenny! Our oldest daughter sat in the back of the workshop with their newborn when you did the workshop at our church. Like the rest of us, they are on a budget. They have a new home, a newborn and work 3 jobs between the two of them. (Her husband works part-time as our youth pastor.) Our daughter studied your Publix list and began collecting/printing coupons. She waited until her husbands day off so they could tackle grocery shopping with the baby, together. Her husband began to get nervous as she piled the shopping cart higher and higher. At checkout, they were both astounded! She saved almost 75%. The cashier even told her how good she did! Her husband was just bragging about how the first month they implemented SS savings techniques, he's kept up with the totals and they've gotten almost $600-worth of groceries for just over $200. You have NO IDEA how much this has helped their household make ends meet with a little bit of wiggle room left over!
I'm certain there are other families with similar stories. Just wanted you to know how much we all appreciate your hard work to help us all spend less each week on the necessities.
When shopping with our 8-year-old I refer to you as if you are a personal friend when we get an especially good deal! My 8-year-old and I prayed for you and your family to be blessed for being a blessing to us and others in such a personal way.

    • kbribelin

      Great article Jenny!

    • Kiki

Great article! Thanks for providing it for free for all of us! It is such a help!

    • moneysaved4disney

      Great job Jenny!
The pic of Jordin looks like me every Monday…only I have 2 boys I drag along. I get the 2 yr old a cookie when we arrive, and 1/2 way thru the store we come upon the $1 matchbox cars and he gets one. This keeps him busy for the 2nd 1/2 of the store. LOL!

    • triadcouponclippers

Great article! Thanks so much for all you do.

    • ivegotcutekids

      Enjoyed reading! Thanks for sharing!

    • Joanna
    • jan

Great article,Jenny! Even though I have been using coupons for years ,this site has been a great help…. and I live way off in the country in a small Alabama town.lol! People still do not realize how much money you can save by doing this coupon thing. Keep up the great work! I know you have helped many people in need right by all the comments that I have read on here.May God continue to bless you for your wonderful work!!!

    • Dianne

WOW!! This is almost as good as having your picture on the cover of The Rolling Stone! :)
OK, you gotta be old to get that reference!

    • robinwiser

Great article!! Thank you for all that you do!

    • Elizabeth

You go girl! Jenny, you're a life saver! I refer at least 2 customers a week (I work for Publix). The back office staff (who have to sort and count the coupons) hate me for it, but I don't care. Lol When I have customers ask me for my schedule that week, just because they know I'm a fellow couponer, I must be doing something right, right?

I wouldnt care if they were mad at u…it's always a pleasure to be treated w/respect when u r using coupons. I have even had a lady cashier get out her magnifying glass out 2 read every word on each coupon. It took her 20 min (Publix) 2 do 2 coupons. There was a line full of people making smart remarks about “she's using coupons” I hate it when cashiers make u feel bad 4 using coupons so if u r making the customer happy then u r doing nothing wrong!! U ROCK!!

    • Helen

You are so deserving of it, I dont know what I would do without the site.

    • Joanna Kerbs

Jordin Clamp and the babies featured in the article are my daughter and granddaughters. We are all big fans and love saving money!!! Thanks I tell everyone who will listen.

    • Donna

Great article. I can't imagine how many lives you have touched. I know you have been a God send for me and my family. Thank you so very much.

    • Mary

Great article and well deserved. I have been using your cite for about a year now. I have to confess that I spend more than an hour or two each week getting my list and coupons together. I think I have only purchased 3 things in the last 6 months that I did not have a coupon for. My 16 year old does not complain anymore about not having snacks in the house. My family thinks that I have an obsession about couponing, but I look at it as a challenge. Thanks again for all your efforts.

      • Jeanette

Where are you finding coupons for milk????? Fresh fruits and veggies???? If they are out there I would LOVE to find them!

        • I drink soy milk or almond milk since I am lactose intolerant and I can always find coupons for those. You can also find coupons for organic milk sometimes (I think it is called Organic Valley?)

As for fruits & veggies a lot of people grow their own or just eat frozen or canned.

    • Jenni

What a neat article! Thanks for sharing it on here.

    • Dasha Scarborough

Wow Jenny! That is great. I knew you spent a lot of time doing this for us, but never realized just how many hours are spent doing Southern Savers!! Thank you!! Thank you!!! Thank you!!! Thank you!!! Since taking your class, I have been couponing for a year now and save bunches of money each week. You and your work/website are a blessing to many people!!

    • Amber

Wonderful article. I can't thank you enough for all your hard work. You've made my stress from not being able to find a new job in the area we moved to a lot less b/c I know I will be able to buy good food for my family on our limited budget.

    • Patti

Such a good article! You should really be proud of yourself — you help thousands save money and work hard at keeping your site free for everyone. The article was well-written and had good information. Congrats!

I can't get the article to download. Everytime I try it has a window that says that there is a problem with windows, this also happens on a lot of good coupons that I have missed. Any helpful ideas?

    • Jeanne

I just want to take a minute and say thank you for all you do.I started couponing when my husband's job cut his hours in half and I was on maternity leave.Things eventually went back to normal but there was no way I was going to go back to paying full price or to buying store brands.I have meet so many wonderful people in the stores who are also fans of your website and find it interesting to talk to them about sales taking place. You have truly been a blessing to our family!!!!

    • Stacey

Jenny, I just really want to thank you for all that you do…since I went to your workshop several months back and have been using your site, I literally feel like I've won the lottery each time I walk out of CVS or Harris Teeter or whereever…except I haven't every bought a lottery ticket. :) You've been a blessing and I will pray for you and your family to be blessed…just as much as you are blessing so many others.
      THANK YOU!!!!

    • Cheryl

Thanks Jenny!!!! You are a blessing!!!!

    • Jennifer M.

I want to thank you for all that you do! This past year has been a very tough one for my family. My husband was laid off from his high paying pharmaceutical job. We still had all our bills, but none of the money to pay them with. We are still struggling, but thank God, we are getting by, at least by the skin of our teeth. One thing I don't have to worry about is keeping my fridge, freezer and pantry stocked with food, and healthy food at that! I just wish I had learned “super couponing” back when we didn't have to “worry” about what we spent our money on!

    • Alycia M

Congratulations on a great article! I appreciate all that you do to help me save, so that I can stay home with my children!

    • Hey, fellow readers, lets make sure we help Jenny out by printing coupons from this website. Also she has a Swagbucks account and if you don't have one yet you should get one. I've earned about 8 free $5 Amazon gift cards. (I signed up before Jenny had a Swagbucks account) That way she gets some Swagbucks too and maybe she can buy herself something fun!

Jenny there are not words to express my gratitude to you. Before all you know what broke loose and my husband had to change jobs and took a pay cut I shopped at Publix. I would buy the buy one get ones but only get as much as I needed for the week. I used coupons occasionally. Well when all you know what broke loose I started shopping at WalMart to save money. I was miserable. It took me more than twice as long (even though it is much closer to my house), I would leave angry and I would still spend a ton of money. I googled something like “how to save money at Publix” and found your website. I've never looked back. I now know my Publix's employees names and shopping is actually fun again! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

    • I love the article! Thanks sooo much for all that you to save everyone money! Your site makes couponing stress free since the info is located all in one place!

    • Lori M

What a great article Jenny!! :)
