Go here to try a free sample of the new Nourish+ hair care system from Aveeno.  According to their site it restores your hair in 3 washes…  don’t know if the sample is that large but I’m up for trying.

(thanks Dionne)

    • This is so true. I think it takes some practice to really understand and use your overage. Publix beats just about anybody when it comes to being able to use overage to your advantage.

I used to be a Wal-mart only shopper, before couponing. Now, I rarely darken their door.

I got an e-mail about this one. It says they will send a free regular size shampoo and conditioner with coupons in 8-10 weeks! Free is ALWAYS best!

    • citadel

my friend Jill told me about this free shampoo. I know she was just being nice b/c my hair is so dry and brittle. I appreciate her thinking of me. maybe it will help.

    • Jenn

The All bran samples are all gone according to the WM website :o(

I agree with you. Before I became a coupon princess, I used to love Wal-Mart and thought their sales were just the **BOMB***. Then, I began to use my coupons at Wal-Mart and my experience with them started turning into a **BOMB**. Plus, I see better discounts with Publix, CVS, WalGreens and even Winn Dixie. Thank you SouthernSaver for teaching me the correct way of shopping and knowing a good sale when I see one. LOL!!!

Hi there. The All-Bran lemonade samples are all out, but there is an offer for a free sample of metamucil here: http://instoresnow.walmart.com/enhancedrendercontent_ektid63440.aspx

    • Yeah! I love free stuff. Citadel, Is your hair brittle due to head lice or because of the grandchildren stressing you out?

    • citadel

does anyone have any thoughts on my hair situation?

I understand your point about finding better deals with sale items at other retailers besides Wal-Mart. However, what about Wal-Mart Supercenter’s price matching policy? When you bring in the sale ad (had to be hard copy, not printed), they will match the sale price at other stores. From there, you can still use your coupons as you normally would to get the same savings. I find this to be super convenient, especially when multiple stores are having great deals that week. Rather than making trips to many different locations, I find it easier to go to Wal-Mart with my sale ads and have them honor the prices there. Thoughts on this?

      • Jenny

The only downside to their price matching is that they will not price match B1G1 deals which are where you save the most since the item is 50% before you even use a coupon. I have also never found it to be an easy process, but then I am biased against them and towards the land of “Where shopping is a pleasure”

    • EKay

Ahh, I’m glad you cleared up the policy about B1G1. I’ve not tried but was extremely curious (especially after seeing a recent sale ad for Food Lion’s grand opening B1G1 sale in my area). I literally thought they’d match anything in the ad. What a shame!

I do not have grandchildren–my own children are very young. what gave you the idea I have grandchildren?

I know you dislike Walmart but right now many of their stores are being remodeled, at least in Tennessee. I have taken my “coupon scrapbook” (as my DH calls it) and hit the clearance aisles. The one closest to me has Iams Cat food for $2; on clearance for $3 but I had an Iams coupon. Two weeks ago, They had the pink Leapfrog Digis for $29 (with the $10 SS coupon it was $19); we bought one for our DD for next Xmas and one for the Angel Tree. Best of all, Wednesday night, I noticed tons of Leapster and digi games marked down to between $8-13 ea. I had a ton of the Leapster/Digi game coupons from last months SS/coupons.com and walked away with 9 games for $60. With 4 of our kids ages 3-8, this puts us in good shape for Christmas 2009 already!
ps. thanks for your great blog. I read it religiously!
