Deal Update::

The FREE 6×8 photo book is confirmed to be a limit of 5!  It is advertised at limit 1, but you will continue to get ECB’s for any books purchased up to 5.  Think, early Christmas presents!!

These books are 10 pages and can hold up to 50 pictures.  Bring them on a CD or thumb drive ready to go.  I would recommend only about 25-30 pictures though, the more pictures to a page the smaller the picture.

    • I have a question about the photobook.
Is it an actual album that they print and fill for you or what???

    • Jennifer

You do the book at a machine inside CVS. You can pick out the background for the pages and the photos you would like to use in the book. Hope this helps.

    • Ok so I go to the Kiosk thing and just select what I want and then they print it on the book??
What if I want more than one copy? Do I have to make 5 different books?

    • Jennifer

I’m not sure but I think before you complete your order you’ll find an arrow button where you can add more copies of the same book. You only need to make the book one time then just hit the arrow button more times for additional copies.

    • Melissa C.

I did my 1st book this morning. You go to the kiosk and put in your disk or media card. Your pictures will appear and you choose the ones you want to put in the book, up to 54. There are 10 pages. One or two pictures, at the most three, on a page looks best. I used like 6 and 9 on some pages and they are TINY.

You’re first photo will show through a little in the cover, so you need to make sure you have a photo ready for that.

That same photo will show up on page two of the book. It’s okay to delete it. I deleted it, and then I couldn’t get back to my page 1, but it was still there and printed fine.

It has where you can reorder your photos in the book, you have to do it one at a time, move it to the clipboard and dump in on another page before you can move another.

Then you can edit your photos, and add text.
To be honest I got overwhelmed with the whole thing – too many decisions – so I just ordered my pictures and got the book and brought it home so I can decide how to make the next one(s) better.

After you get done, you can choose how many books you want to buy.
Then the machine prints out 10 pages same as it would print regular photos. You take the pages to the Photo person and they afix them together and put them in a cover.

    • Kristen

I have not received an initial coupon from cvs by email yet to get started.
I am so excited about this. Am i missing something somewhere?

      • Jenny

It takes about 4 weeks before they start to send emails. They used to be sent right away but they are delayed now :(

    • Melissa C.

PS, if you buy 5 at one time, you have to pay for them all up front, then you’ll have a huge ECB to get rid of later. Best to do one at a time, so the 1st one pays for the next one and so on, and then you end up with only a $7.99 ECB.

    • Victoria

What is the deadline for these? Is it just this week or all month?
By the way, I think the Cheerio’s are also free at Walgreen’s.

      • Jenny

The deadline is just this week for the photo books. The cereals are really free most everywhere. At Walgreens you can get a regular size box for .99 cents though.

    • Jeanne

Has anyone tried making five books and buying them in separate transactions in one trip?

    • Melissa C.

That would likely work Jeanne, I didn’t think of that, duh!

I hardly ever get any emails from CVS.

    • ET

Kristen, mine took a little over 6 weeks.

    • Melissa
Thank you so much for your help!!
I am a little overwhelmed too, but I know the photo lady so maybe she can help me!

    • Amber

Can you order the book online and pick it up in the store and still get the ECBs?

    • Miss M

I tried to print the 1$ coupon for the cheerios and it ask to do a download to print as I had never printed there before. I downloaded and it wouldn’t take me to the site to print. Is anyone else having this problem?

    • Erin

Is a thumb drive like a flash drive?

      • Jenny

A thumb drive and flash drive are the same thing.

    • Nate

Yes Erin. Typically a thumb drive is a flash (a.k.a. USB drive).

    • Kel

      Miss M

    • meg

I get emails all the time, but they’re coupons for online purchases

    • Ashley

You can ask the cashier to do the photo books in seperate transactions even if they print at the same time, because the barcode is on each box, not on the total order. HTH

    • I hope this is OK to share, but I saw a link to this on another site. This lady gives some detail on creating the photo book:

Amber – You can NOT order the book online. The lady at my CVS specifically said that and someone else online has said the same thing. You have to create the book in the store.

I like the idea of ordering 5 of the same book, but paying for them all separately…wonder if that would work????

    • Jeanne

Just got back and there is an option that you can choose for the machice to organize your pictures and then you can make changes. It only took me ten minutes to complete my picture book and I have never done one before.

    • Clay Cohen

can you get rain checks on the photo books? ty for this site!

      IT ROCKS!

    • Ali-Gater

If you want your photos in a specific order, rename them on your flash drive/cd because the machine places them on the page. I had mine organized by folders, and it put my folders in alphabetical order, so I had to move all of them into the order I wanted, and it was a pain. Oh yeah and the max amount of pics you can have in there is like 54.

    • Teresa-QOCD

with a $10 off $50 coupon they would be money maker presents-my family bets every year on how little I spent.

    • Holly
Thanks so much for the link…
I am going to follow suit and make a rough copy at home first!

    • these make awesome christmas gifts!!!

    • RACHEL

Can you use your ECB’s from the first book and go back and get another one and still get more ECBs or is this only if you actually “pay cash” for them? I am on my way during lunch today to do another and wanted to make sure.

    • Rebekah

purchased five & paid .03 OOP!!!! Awesome Christmas gifts for g’parents :)

    • You are talking about $3 off $ 15 were did you or receive this?

    • Andrea

If you make a photo book then go back later, can you still pull up your previous one or must you start from scratch? I’m hoping the machine saves it for you somehow????

    • Rei

Andrea – according to the CVS photo technician I talked to this morning, the computer saves it for 24 hrs. I’m going back later to get 4 more!

    • Mary

I #’d my photos and it still shuffled them and I still had to rearrange them. (It was a pain) but anyway… It’s done!

      You can go back…
I did one and took it out to the car and then decided, I needed a copy for my parents. I went back in and the cashier brought up my book from the archives and resent it! Viola! The second one was done in no time, I used my 7.99 ECB from Book #1 and paid nothing, nada, zero.

Hope this helps! P.S. these are cute books for free!

    • Would it work if I put different icons and quotes I get from online and save them as pics??
Like as a scrapbook type thing??

    • Andrea

I upload photos from my camera to my computer. If I copy those photos to a disk, do I just take my disc to CVS to make the photo book?

    • Jaime

I made my book this weekend at the Pelham, AL store. it only took about 10-15 minutes! I didn’t add any text though. Thanks so much for the info!

    • Amanda B.

Where can I find this coupon or is it a promotion? Have several birthays coming up that I would like to do this as a present for

    • Amy

This is a promotion that CVS is having!

Andrea, I also copied my pics onto a cd and had no problem.

    • Christina A

I did my 5 today. 4 of them were exactly alike and printed at the exact same time via the print duplicates option during the order. The cashier run up the first and we rolled the ECB’s doing 5 transactions. So I got 5 books for $4 something plus few ECB’s I already had before I started and have $7.99 to use later. :D

Couldn’t ask for better. Extremely cheap Christmas pressies and ECB’s left to spend later!

    • Kelli

The guy in my CVS is giving me a hard time. I did one on each card on Sunday morning and they were fine. Now CVS is out of the kits to make the photobooks and when I asked for a raincheck, he would only give me one with the code and the ECB’s amount, but the others, he put NONE for the code and the ECB’s. Jenny, do you know if there is a misprint in the ad or if this is a CVS error in the system? I will call and ask to speak tot he manager if it’s a misprint and he’s giving me a hard time. Thanks.

    • Just did mine!!!
It took me a long time (almost an hour) but I am VERY VERY picky when it comes to gifts like these…
I wanted it to be as perfect as it could…
Had 4 ECB’s to use for first one, plus I got a $25 giftcard for transferring a prescription, got 3 books altogether… so I paid literally NOTHING out of pocket!!!
They look so cute too I am excited I cant wait for Christmas, hopefully I can last that long!!!

    • Christy

I’m completely new to this. Can we only take part in this special if we receive an e-mail from CVS? How do you get ECB’s? Could anyone give a crash course in this for “dummies?”

      • Jenny

I’ve a got a CVS getting started guide here that will break down some of it for you. This is a deal that is going on all week in the stores. It is part of the weekly ad you will just need an extracare card to take part.

    • Erin

so the front cut out of the book was smaller than the machine thinks it is so I will choose a picture that isn’t close up so heads don’t get cut off for the others. did anyone else having this issue?

    • Erin
I dont really understand what you mean…
You can see the picture perfectly on the first page, but not from the cover.
What I did with mine is found a quote that said “The love of a family is one of life’s greatest blessings.”
I copied it and put it onto my disk along with my pictures…
Makes a great first page as an introduction to the book…
I am not really understanding your question though?

    • Catherine

CVS arrgued with me on the cheerio coupons. They said I could not use them on that product because it made them free. I explained that I still had to pay taxes, and the whole point of using a coupon was to get a better price. They let me get them eventually. I hated wasting the time but hey I got the kiddo free cheerios with a bowl to use for camping in a few weeks.

    • Erin

when the computer shows you the 1st pic it says that you will see what is within the blue box or whatever but then they print it and put it together and half of what you saw “in the blue box” is behind the cover instead of in the window. make sense?
this happened on all 3 of the books i printed I even showed it to the girl and she didn’t understand it either.

    • Terry

The cherrios will be free at Bi-Lo on wednesday also.

    • Tricia

Yeah, the actual opening in the book cover is a little smaller than they show onscreen. Some choices looked better than others. But if you want text on your cover pic, you don’t have to do it on your disk or zip; they have a feature that lets you add it when you make the book. We played around with different scripts and colors. I think you can add text to each page, too, and customize them with different backgrounds, but I was doing a stack of them and did’t want to take any more time (HP6 premiere tonight, and my kids needed help dressing up!) One of my daughters has a friend in Afghanistan, and she’s making a book for him. I thought she could just use my last ECB to buy hers, with nothing back, and the photo tech suggested that she just ask for her own card, so she can keep it going. Good thing this deal runs all week – half the town my end up with photo books, kind of like a chain letter!

    • Shannon

I went to CVS today to see if they had anymore of the school supplies in stock (I originally went at 8:00am on Sunday), they didn’t. I asked for rainchecks and was told that I couldn’t get a raincheck on “3-day sales”? Does anyone know if this is corporate policy? It really ticks me b/c I KNOW they NEVER had some of the items in stock-and what they did have was only enough for 1 person to get.

    • Laura

I was told that they couldn’t give rainchecks ONLY if it said “No rainchecks” in the ad… Has nothing to do with the 3 day sale. They wrote mine out with no problems.

    • With the Cheerios…do you actually have buy 10 to get the 10 for $10 price?

    • Erin
I think what you mean is that it tells you whatever is in the box will be visible on the front cover correct?
You have to make sure whatever picture you have on the first page you want to be seen from the front cover…

    • Oh and it didnt mean it was going to be filled in the wondow…
That is just a slot on the front…

    • **window

    • Angela P

Kelli – I too was given a hard time with the raincheck issue. I eventually got him to give me 2 rainchecks each for books (I have 2 cards). Was really bummed that they didn’t have kits & that they wouldn’t let me have 5. He said he got in trouble doing that. Anyone know the answer to Kelli’s question (#42)?

    • Has anyone tried to pay ahead for the photo books so they go back and make them later? I called one store and the lady seemed unsure about it. She wasn’t even really that familiar with the offer. I don’t mind doing them now, but if I’m going to use them as gifts, I’d rather use more up to date photos. I have a baby boy so he’s going to change a LOT in the next 5-6 months :)

    • rhonda

help! i purchased 1 photobook today and got my 7.99 ecb’s. want to go back and get another, using my 7.99 ecb’s. ? is…will book #2 print more ecb’s since i am paying with ecb’s from the same product? want to roll my ecb’s thru 5 books if possible. has anyone done this?

      • Jenny

Rhonda it will print the ECB’s for the second book. You can pay with ECB’s on anything and if it is supposed to generate more it always will. Gotta Love CVS!

It’s Walgreens that does what you are talking about.

    • I printed two books last night, and the ECB’s certainly did roll. I would have done three more, but the Princess was very tired and grumpy and needed to go home to bed, so I guess I’ll go back today for the other three. :-) Thanks so much for the heads up.

    • jessica

is this deal still working? My receipt said I have reached my limit of 1. I am just a little nervous to keep trying. Has anyone done it today?

    • Brande

They would not let me use the printable cheerios coupon at my local CVS! They said it was only for the “box” of cheerios and not the “cup”

    • MommyCFO

My husband is at cvs and they are out of the 6×8 books. I knew they were and sent him to get a rainck for 5. They are not giving him a raincheck but are telling him he can print an 8×10 book for the same deal. I didn’t have my pics ready for him to print one and the baby is sick! UGH!!! Any suggestions?
