Hurry over and snag a FREE subscription to Ebony Magazine from Mecury Magazines.  You’ll need to answer questions about your job, but you can enter homemaker too.

Once you order the magazine, just skip all the other offers…  these really do come.

I know that Ebony may not be for everyone, but this magazine regularly has a great insert of Procter & Gamble coupons in the home mailed versions that is not in the newsstand copies!  My most recent May issue had $9 in coupons, and for a FREE magazine that is awesome to me!

    • Mochadlight77

Why would ebony “not be for you”? What does that mean? Clarification please.

      • Vallynn77

I guess because it’s generally a “black” magazine. Didn’t have to word it like that huh? LOL! O_o

      • Caroline

I would think for the same reason AARP, Boating World, Cat Fancy or Car and Driver magazines might not be for everyone. The majority of magazines are directed at a specific market of people and aren’t intended to broadly appeal to everyone. I wouldn’t take a magazine if it’s not of interest to me, even if it’s free, because I feel it’s wasteful and I get enough unnecessary mail as it is.

        • VP22

I think what Mocha is saying is that there have been magazine offers that cater to a certain group (like you said, Car and Driver, AARP, etc) listed before and there has never been the disclaimer that said “may not be for you”

you know what it means….  The magazine is obviously targeted towards black people.  There is nothing wrong with a magazine catering to a certain group of people like Caroline said.  But lets not be difficult and attempt to make people feel bad for stating the obvious just because the magazine has chosen to use race as its platform.

        • Mochadlight77

Not trying to cause confusion nor be difficult. Just never saw that disclosure with other magazine offers. Thanks :)

          • VP22

I totally agree with you. Just made that very comment.

          • tygirl13

She occasionally states who the magazine may be good for.  ie Backpacker – “outdoorsy types” or Motortrend – “car enthusiast”.  Would you have rather she said “Great for black people”?  I realize she could have just said nothing…  But she does occasionally make “disclosures” we just don’t notice them because backpacking isn’t as divisive as race.
I didn’t get offended when she said that Backpacking was for the “outdoorsy type”. I am sure that non-outdoorsy people could appreciate some of the content.

            • Mochadlight77

              Great tygirl13 thanks :)

            • tygirl13

               Anytime Mocha!!

            • tygirl13

               Anytime Mocha!!

    • Mochadlight77

Lol I guess but I’m black and enjoy a lot of magazines. Ebony prints articles we all can relate to just as taste of home, glamour to name a few.

      • Troop949

I completely agree.  I grew up reading this magazine, along with Highlights (when I was young, LOL), Time, and Working Mother magazine (my mom’s, of course).  So, magazines are meant to be enjoyed by any reader who is interested.  Sure, it may be directed toward one aspect of society, but there’s something in it for everyone – just as in any other major magazine.

        • Quataqueen

hahahaha- Highlights!  I forgot all about that one. I use to LOVE that magazine!!!  thanks for sending me down memory lane!!!

        • I’m sure no offense was intended. I’ve worked in the publishing industry for many years and every publication has its own demographic or target audience. But that doesn’t mean that different markets won’t overlap… because we all have a variety of interests.

    • Amaranda

I don’t see how its exactly free, I tried to get it but it wanted me to order another magazine also for $2 an issue. So maybe Ebony is free, but there are serious strings attached.

      • C_hakes

You don’t have to buy anything.  Just close that window.  It will show that Ebony is “coming your way in 6-8 weeks”.

        • Amaranda

Thanks! I didn’t notice that, I must have closed that window without seeing it. :)

    • VJCpurple

Thank you for posting this. I will enjoy this FREE magazine.

    • mags4every1

I usually don’t see that warning posted with the other magazine offers. But thanks anyway Jenny

    • Aprileblanks

thanks….love this promotions…the proctor and gamble inserts are wonderful

    • is the offer over? when i hit “submit” it doesn’t do anything

      • Tanya0324

It’s not over. I just ordered. This is one of my favorite mags and to get it for free, on top of the coupon inserts is Awesome! Thanks !

      • Pikkewyntjie

It took about 15 minutes for mine to go through!

    • Jordyn’s mommy

uughggh, keeps timing out when I try to submit.  Is any one else having trouble submitting before it times out?

      • Allisonhenry87

same trouble here too, there must be too many people trying to get this…what a bummer lol

    • Lindsay Mineck

yes, but just be patient and keep trying…mine eventually went through.

    • Pigtailsndimples

I must say, Thanks Jenny for the information on the magazines. I have to say though, that I debated seriously about continuing on with this website. As an African-American, I don’t play or believe in the racecards; however…I would have never guessed that “may not be for everyone” would apply to the coupon world. All of your followers like a bargain, no matter what their creed or hobbies are, please lets all save our discresions to ourselves. Thanks.

      • guest

I ask why did you IMMEDIATELY take that as a racial issue. “may not be for everyone” speaks NO volumes of Jenny’s integrity. Did you ever stop to think that it was meant as people who are not into pop culture or fashion? Or perhaps people who May only be interested in Cooking magazines filling up their mailbox. So before to passively agressively attack Jenny for sharing YOUR free subscription think about this…. Its like television or radio,  if you dont like whats playing then change the channel…… Same said for Jenny’s awesome and tireless efforts to provide ALL of her LOYAL AND THANKFUL followers the savings she finds then shares with us. The world already has too many problems we need no more fuel to add to YOUR fire.  God loves you and so do I have a Jesus filled day!

FYI, these have some good coupons in them. Here is a list from the May issue:

      Gain Product $1/1
      Cascade Products $1/2
      Downy $1/1
      Pampers Wipes .50/1
      Swiffer product $1/1
Bounty Basic 6ct or larger $1/2
      Dawn Product .50/1
      Tide Product $1/1
      Charmin Products $1/2
      Febreze Air Effects $1/1

So even if you aren’t interested in the magazine’s content itself (for ANY reason) you can still get it for the coupons and then pass it on to someone else.

    • Coley

You made the disclaimer that this magazine -“Ebony”- is not for everyone.  Really, is any magazine for everyone?

    • couponinchef

I did it and got another free magazine that is related to my career! Cool!

    • Ajoyner5

Thanks for the information Jenny I just entered for my free subscription

    • housewifeWHO?

      In for one! Thanks, Jenny!

    • Spam_sux84

I don’t think this was offensive how it was referenced not for everyone. I wouldn’t want to be wasteful and order a magazine that didn’t appear to interest me but then she stated there are usually a great deal of coupons in it so it would be worth taking advantage of this offer. After I skim through it I’ll just bring with me to work to leave in our break room for my co-workers as I do with all my other magazines after I read them :)

    • Homer Bean

I can’t get mine because it keeps telling me my City, State, and Zip Code Don’t match. I know where I live. I don’t understand what the deal is. I would love to have it.
