We had a great week in terms of finances this week!  We’ve been trying to sell an old truck for the past few months and finally did it this week.  On top of that we got our tax refunds!  For us most of this will go into savings, but it feels nice to be able to save.  As for shopping I got by CVS and my now trusty Food Lion.

At CVS we grabbed the Huggies diaper sale:

Total before sales and coupons: $36.10
Total spent: $18.23
Total Saved: $17.87

ECB Remaining: $10

Food Lion was only a produce, meat and milk run.  I used the $2 off meat coupon, and a coupon on onions, that was honestly it.  We did manage to save almost 35% though sticking to sale items.  Plus not factored into the savings is the fact that most of the meat I grabbed was marked down.

Total before sales and coupons: $122.64
Total spent: $80.21
Total Saved: $42.43 or 34.6%

It’s not impressive and won’t make any special TV show, but it was getting what we needed.  I was also pleased because it included enough meat and produce to feed three different families that we had over this week!  If I go over budget a little bit in order to have folks over, it is well worth it to me.  The house maybe a mess when you come over, but you’ll never leave our house hungry!
