I ran out for the Bi-Lo 3 Day sale this week.  It was my only trip, and really only happened because we needed butter.  It’s almost as important as water in our house!

The closest Bi-Lo to us is in a rough area so I hadn’t been in yet.  I’m always nervous couponing in a new-to-me store, not knowing how they treat couponers.  This trip was very unique experience.  I’m pretty sure this particular store gets no couponers.  None.  I first had to ask for a rain check on my precious butter, they had to go digging in the back just to find the rain check pad.  Thankfully they did know how to write one once they found it.  Then as I gave the cashier the coupons she panicked.  She wasn’t new (Bi-Lo gives employees stars on their name tags for years worked) but she had no clue how to enter the coupons.  The store manager came over… he also was a bit baffled.  Their solution “just add up what the total coupon amount is” that store manager then took off $25 from my order.

Ummm… okay.  I’m thinking the whole time “you know you can just scan them?”

The process was so easy really I think I may go back.  The lone couponer of the store.

Bi-Lo – shopping list
Total before sales and coupons: $131.26
Total spent: $44.52
Total saved: $86.74 or 66%

While I ended up with no butter, just a rain check.  We did get free Cortizone and free coffee plus a few other things.  I also grabbed two pork loins, at $1.49 lb I can make my own boneless pork chops and save over $1 per lb.
