I hadn’t intended on going grocery shopping for much this week until I saw the 47¢ Egglands Best Eggs at Bi-Lo… after that I couldn’t stay home.  It also didn’t help that I got a mailer from Pampers with a $4 and $3 off any pack of diapers coupon and a coupon for Free wipes when you bought any size pack of diapers.  Those things burn holes in my pocket when they are that high value, so now we had to hit 2 different stores.  Once I got ready for two stores, I then went crazy and just decided to turn it into a three store trip.  This is basically unheard of for me, but it was helped by my husband being home and offering to keep the kids.

I did end up with one kiddo, my youngest who wanted to go so bad that she took all of my expired coupons and made her own coupon box (don’t tell her that they are expired though she felt very helpful with her coupons today).

Total before sales and coupons: $126.21
Total spent: $54.47
Total Saved: $71.74 or 56.8%

This included a pork roast and a beef roast, plus 2 bottles of laundry detergent, 4 bottles of cranberry juice, 2 boxes of cereal, and a number of other items.  The only thing not in the weekly ad deals was a package of diapers paired with a store coupon saving $9 off of a $10 pack of diapers (now you know why I had to go when the coupons came in the mail).

Total before sales and coupons: $13.18
Total spent: $3.27
ECB Remaining: $3

I used my second Pampers coupon that came in the mail to pair with the Pampers ExtraCare Deal this week.  The magic coupon center printed a $2 off earplugs coupon, so we also grabbed a box of earplugs that were $1.99.  Might never need them, but hey they were free!  We paid with a $3 ECB from a previous trip and then only owed a little bit after tax for the diapers.

Total before sales and coupons: $119.55
Total spent: $45.61
Total saved: $73.94 or 62%

This was the icing on the cake for me.  We really already spent the whole budget at Publix, but I was in the groove and decided to stick with the trips.  It’s probably best that we spend the next few weeks stocking up more on food anyway (I worry what the grocery trips had without me will look like post baby).  I went for the Egglands, but left with an ever better deal when I found Egglands Cage Free marked down $2 off so we got cage free eggs for 35¢.  They had marked down a ton of yogurt, jello, and cheese so we stocked up and had an even more fun time getting the kraft catalina.  We also grabbed lots of produce including clementines, grapes, potatoes, and carrots plus got another roast.  That makes us set for three Sunday lunches after today’s trips!

One deal we grabbed not on the list:  Capri Suns, 10 pk, $2.78, then used the new $1 off coupon and a .75/1 Publix store coupon from the recent stock up and save home mailer.  Getting those for $1.03 is a good day!

Weekly Total:
Before sales and coupons: $258.94
Spent: $103.35
Saved: $155.39 or 60%

I know it’s more than we plan, but I’m chalking it up to nesting and actually feeling excited about the deals!

My 18 mo. old daughter likes coupons too.  When I’m cleaning out my binder she says “I need a coupon.”  So, I give her the expired ones….don’t worry, I won’t tell if you won’t.  She wanted my binder so I got a small freebie photo book and put her coupons in it.  She loves it.

    • Melissa

Your little one is a doll! PLEASE tell me what kind of coupon organizer you have! I have been trying to figure out something that I can take to the stores with the little ones as my binder will not work anymore. Thanks for all of your hard work and I am so happy to hear about the baby!

      Wait, did I miss something?

For some reason It always makes me happy when you shop.  I stopped by Harris Teeter today for yogurts and eggs and they were out of eggs so I’m planning on getting the Egglands eggs at Bi-Lo tomorrow and I’m still trying to work out where to get the best deal for th Kraft catalina.  Stocked up on peanut butter at HT – Planters at $1.92 a jar (no coupons) isn’t the cheapest but since sale prices are averaging $2.50 for a small jar I bought 6 jars.  Stocking up when I find a price I’m happy with rather than despair over full price when we’ve run out is one of the things I’ve learned from this site.  Congratulations on the upcoming baby too!

Has anyone seen any $ off $$ coupons lately to use at Publix or Bi-Lo?

Your daughter is clearly enjoying being like Mommy-what a good role model you are for her. I have a dad who is a deal finder and also taught me the importance of not paying full price. He is now 80 and still sends me his register receipts to show me how much he saved with coupons!

    • Amy W

Congrats on the new baby! I would love to know about your coupon bag too!

I think I did well this week at CVS, I spent: $15.00 saved: $54.00 and I have $20.00 ecb’s for next week.  :)

    • Charlotte

Hey Jenny, I love your coupon bag/purse. Did you order it off of Etsy?

    • Snowbirdkc54

I was really excited about my kroger deals. I found jello pudding marked down to. $1.69 for the refrigerated 6 packs with $1 off peelies, making them 69 cents each! Though not in my add they had some General Mills cereal for $1.99 and I had 50 cents off Q’s making it 99 cents/ box. Also stocked up on cheese and meat for the Kraft Catalina. Question : when you go over your budget by so much for a week, how do you compensate? Do you skip a week or just spend the extra money or how. Interested as I sometimes have this pro lem. Thanks for all you do.
