We all have weeks where things don’t go as planned and you just work to keep your head up.  That was our week.  I made it to CVS on Monday and did great, but by the time Wednesday rolled around for me to do our grocery shopping things were into survival mode.  I did go to Bi-Lo but we only used 6 coupons… yep just 6.

There are moments where you need to face reality and for me in those moments we leave the coupons at home and just focus on sales.  If items are on sale BOGO or at least 40% off, then don’t give up on savings.  Head to the store coupons or not and get stocked on items you will use.

I have a feeling that we will have more weeks like this in the future, but I also realize now that we need to save on groceries more than ever.  We have officially entered the world of long term illness and already the medical costs are adding up with just the last 3 days.  I’ll share more in the next week of what’s going on with us and even somethings that we are doing to get finances in order and know that we can pay for what is ahead.

So for this week…

CVS Totals

Total Before sales and coupons: $94.26
Total Spent: $15.27
Total Saved: $88.99 or 84%
ECB Remaining: $5

I shared all the CVS deals we grabbed in a video earlier this week.  Check it out.

Bi-Lo Totals

Total before sales and coupons: $85.19
Total Spent: $49.55
Total Saved: $35.64 or 42%
