Around this time of year the poinsettias start to go on sale. I’ve been able to find them at Lowe’s for as low as 50¢ in the past.
That’s right! I was standing in Lowes a week before Christmas and they had little Poinsettia plants on Clearance for only 50¢! It blew my mind that Christmas hasn’t even passed yet and Lowes Home Improvement was having such a blow-out deal. Many of their Christmas decorations and all of their Christmas plants were at least half off.
The best news is that I was actually on my way to decorate for a Christmas party. So, I grabbed a lot for centerpieces, and a few larger plants and called it a day. In the end, I left Lowes with 16 small Poinsettias for $8.
I had already hit Dollar General and bought even more decorations. All of their decorations were 50% off. The best thing I got from DG for the centerpiece were tiny ornaments that came with 20 in a pack and were only 50¢.
I just had to share with all of you my frugal decorations. The centerpieces came out to about $1.70 per table and included:
-3 Small Poinsettias – $1.50
-Found Greenery (Pine, Cedar, Holly) – FREE
-Found Pine Cones Spray Painted Silver & Gold – FREE
-Tiny Ornaments – About 3¢ each
Here’s how our frugal centerpieces turned out:
Moral of the story: Hit Lowes, Dollar General and your own backyard if you’re planning to throw a Christmas party within the next week!
